Something was coming.
It cut through the waves and rushed over the surface of the water. Whatever it was, naught could be seen of it but waves, walls of water thrown up on either side of it. And then came the noise of something shattering the water on its way toward the island... very fast, much too fast!
The beast leaned his feline head down as he approached the Island of Life and then his three paws suddenly were no longer on water, but in the sand beneath it, splashing through. He dropped his speed immediately as he trotted up onto the beach, eyes narrow as he peered about. His body was sleek and a bit larger than a normal Lunar, large enough to carry two riders, or even four children. His overall shape was decidedly feline, a short, strong muzzle that housed sharp teeth swept back to a sleek, streamlined head with slightly rounded ears that were flattened against his head at the moment. His body was thicker than a Lunar's, more cylindrical, and his tail was thin and long and curled and twitched slowly. Gorgeous orange fur with black stripes ran all down his body; he was like a tiger, but there were conspicuous horns sweeping back from his head and sticking from the end of his tail. And of course, he had only three legs.
His fourth leg was a gleaming silver prosthesis, the left front leg, with a wicked, curved talon curled up against it for safety. Tigris slunk along the beach, eyes on one person-- a blue-haired boy sitting astride a blue European dragoness. His hackles rose and he felt the bile rise in his throat.
"Man-Child..." So he was here!? This would have to be reported. He was spreading his story, his lies and slander to the others? This could only make things difficult. Not impossible-- but more difficult, oh yes. And before Aedan could possibly look his way he bolted out across the water again, unnoticed by anyone, just a quickly retreating wall of water heading further out to sea.

As Aedan headed off on Minya's giant neck, he seemed not to notice the stranger that had set foot on sacred ground far below them. His mind was on other things, preoccupied with worry about the hatching of the little familiar-terrors. What exactly it was that this new face meant went untold, and unrealized. Even Minya was concentrating too much on her own bonded and the situation before them to wonder about what was behind.
