As Crenu jumped to his left and larvitar jumped to his right, a rather large ball of blue fire crashed into the ground and sent crackling embers into the air. Rolling on the ground onto his knee, Crenu looked around for the source of the attack. As he looked into the air near the branches, he saw a ghoulish face with jagged teeth and glowing red eyes laughing down at him as it charged another blue ball. Unable to move through fear, the fiend fired off it's next attack directly at Crenu. As the scorching blue flame got closer and closer, Crenu felt himself get pushed out of the way by a cyclone of sand. larvitar stood brave as he saved Crenu with a sand storm, his act of valot enough to bring Crenu back to his senses. "Thanks buddy, I owe you. I don't know what the hell that thing is, but it's going down! Spinarak use Poison sting on it now!" Spinarak jumped from her perch onto a branch and spewed a shower of poisonous needles at the floating face, but at the last moment before the attack hit the face vanished. "What the... a ghost?" As Crenu tried to piece it all together, the face re-appeared and an odd enegy began to emanate from it's body. Crenu looked over at Lavitar and noticed him start to wobble before falling over where he stood. "Larvitar!" he ran over to Larvitar who was sleeping soundly on the ground, nothing more. Crenu called him back to his pokeball and turned to face the ghost. Just then, the ghost started sending it's subliminal energies into Crenu's mind to try and put him to sleep as well. "Must..fight... Spinarak, block.." As Crenu started to fall under, Spinarak jumped in front of him and began to fire another spray of needles. Unaffected by the attack, Spinarak's needles hit the target but merely phased through it. The ghost disappeared again and re-appeared in another location.

As deep in thought as he was, even Keegan couldn't help but see the flaming pony trot over to him, his silver and black flames glowing brightly. "Hello there, Apollo," Keegan smiled, greeting the Ponyta with a gentle pat of his muzzle. He also spotted Dante and the obnoxious Meowth headed his way, and he continued walking until he reached them. "So where did you lot disappear to anyways?" he asked, ruffling his read hair a bit and stretching. "You missed Loki's victory over Wattson's Manectric." He paused, once again thinking about the lean and agile electric Pokemon. Soon, Themis. Soon!

"Sorry about that." Dante said sheepishly. "Apollo and Bahamut pulled me out of the gym for some reason." he continued not sure himself why he had been taken out. Apollo who was standing next to Keegan just snorted at this. His trainer was smart but could be really stupid sometimes. Dante just gave the pony a little glare before smiling at Keegan again. " I am glad to hear that you won though, congradulations on your victory. I wish I could join you when you get your next badge." He thought for a second. "Flannery's your next gym leader right?" He asked uncertain. He did remember the red headed gym leader though from the breif time he had traveled with Kasiya. "Anyway I do have things to do and I would like to get at least two of them done before my mom holds her beach party in Slateport."

Casimir cast a deadly glare into the water, staring down past the floating shards of wood at the Whiscash. Squiggly slowly floated to the surface, obviously unable to continue. Content that the battle had been won, Casimir trotted back over towards Kasiya's side, sitting down and glaring at the two fishermen as they recalled their fainted Snorunt and Whiscash. Kasiya looked away from them, folding her arms and pretending to be interested in something floating in the water. "Can we go now?" she said quietly. "I don't want to hang around here any longer." She surveyed the damage done to the bridge and sighed.

Thanks to insomnia, Spinarak was unaffected by the ghost hypnotic attack. Crneu sluggishly got up to his feet and shook off the sleepiness that had fallen over him. "Let's see... there is more to this ghost than meets the eye. It used hypnosis and what looked like will-o-wisp. Both are pokemon attacks and my own attacks just went through it. It's possible, that this is just an illusion... Spinarak, stay sharp!" As the ghost like face began to charge another will-o-wisp, Crenu started to formulate another plan. "Spinarak, Poison Sint, aim for the tree behind the ghost. Up in the branches!" Spinarak jumped into the trees and disappeared. The ghost semed not to notice as it continued to form the fire ball and shot it at Crenu. Crenu dived out of the way but winced as one of the embers landed on his leg. The strange fire did not burn as normal fire would, but instead started to dance about on his leg as it spread and started burning his leg. Crenu threw dirt onto the flames and put them out, rubbing his leg gently as his skin stung from the attack. "Now!" Spinarak jumped out of the trees near the ghost's side, spitting neddles at the branches that appeared to be the ghost's center point. As she did this, a haunter came into view and fell the the ground, the ghost fizzling out of existence. The haunter regained controll and floated about inches from the ground, then started cackling. As Crenu turned to look around at the echoing laughter of haunter, he was horrified to hear the same laughter being returned from every which direction. In no time, countless haunter, gastly, and gengar started appearing in the branches. "Oh Crap... Spinarak, poison sting! let's hit em all!"

After leaving the Pokemon Center in town. Eraku and Trey began to make their way back towards the Mansion.

"Well I've been in it before but that was only with my Uncle Blaine when i was younger. I knew there is a pack of Growlithe in there and I was hoping to find one to catch before I leave the island." Eraku explained to Trey.

"Wow your the nephew of Blaine the Fire Pokemon master. Who woulda thought." Trey said in surprise.

"But yeah I actually had just gone in and I ran into a bunch of Grimer and so i ran out. I can't stand the smell they make it made me sick." Trey exclaimed.

"Well if you wanna go in with me I roughly know my way around. Where I'm hoping to go is a bit farther into the building but still I think we should be fine if we stick together." Eraku said.

"Yeah lets do it!" Trey jumping up in excitement.

Eraku opend the old mysterious mansion and they began to make their way inside...

Spinarak jumped back down to Crenu and started to spit needles in every direction at the branches. She resembled a sprinkler as she went back and forth spraying poisonous barbs rather than water at the army of ghost pokemon that had gathered and surrounded them. As the needles made contact, the ghost pokemon fell back, only to be replaced by more and more pokemon. It was clear that Spinarak was getting tired as the spray became weaker by the second. "Enough Spinarak, we can't win here.... If only Larvitar hadn't been put to sleep then maybe.... no. Even still we are far to outnumbered. Let's run for it Spinarak. Cover me, let's go!" Spinarak jumped onto Crenu's head and he sprinted off. The hoard of cackling ghosts gave chase, balls of blue flames being shot off from every direction. As they ran, the embers from the balls splashed onto them and started to burn as Crenu franticly tried to smother them with his hands. Spinarak shot spray after spray of needles into the fray as they ran, the sounds of ghost pokemon falling in the background. Escape seemed impossible as the ghost just keep appearing from nowhere, and as they reached a clearing a group of Gengar phased into existence meters in front of them. Crenu came to a screeching halt and watched them carefully as their dark bodies were hidden by the dark forest. All that was visible were those sinister eyes and that ghastly toothy grin, one right next to another in a pyramid like fashion. though he tried to hide it, Crenu was scared out of his mind. Looking around, he searched for a way out and saw a small glimmeing dark patch. At that moment he noticed what the Gengar were doing. Looking at them carefully, he could see them forming balls of pure dark energy in their hands. "Damn... Spinarak, Night Shade! Strongest one you've got!" Spinarak concentrated as the dark curtain started to fall over the Gengar. As Spinarak fought for control over the shade, The sound of the Gengar's laughter was to much. It was clear that these Gengar were quite strong, and that night shade was doing nothing to them. Crenu called Spinarak back into her pokeball and made a break for it. As he ran, the Gengar shot off their shadow balls at Crenu who made a last effort to escape, leaping for the pond. The shadow balls struck earth and made a massive explosion of energy. With a large cloud of dust showing no signs of clearing, the ghost were content and went back into the shadows, Crenu was nowhere in sight.

The Pidgey hopped onto its feet with an indignant shriek, its feathers ruffled. It was quite plainly not about to flee, but rather intent on fighting back. Akane’s thoughts raced and things seemed to be going in slow motion. Twinkers was glaring at the Pidgey, anger quite evident on its usually cheery features. What should I tell Twinkers to do? thought Akane, the Pidgey taking to the air with a few powerful beats of its wings. "Twinkers! Use Return!" ordered Akane. The Pidgey, however, had used its wings expertly. The cloud of dust it raised was aimed in the Cleffa's direction - a Sand Attack. Five small red hearts could be seen converging in a spiral pattern within the dust cloud, combining into a larger red heart that was launched at the now airborne Pidgey

The large heart collided squarely with the offending Pidgey despite the obscuring cloud of now rapidly settling dust. The force of the blow was strong enough to start the Pidgey on a downwards tumble, though with a show of agility befitting a Pokemon born to soar the skies it managed to regain control in short order. Not only did it recover, it used the downward momentum to gain some speed. Speed quickly converted into horizontal flight shooting the Pidgey at the annoying pink puffball like a dart. Twinkers was unaware of the attack as it was trying to rub the dust out of its eyes. Akane wanted desperately to yell a warning to her small companion, but found her voice frozen. Sound seemed to be non-existent for Akane as she watched the Pidgey do a fly-by attack, sending Twinkers tumbling along the ground. The sound came back, as did Akane’s voice. “Twinkers! Do something!”

Not wasting any time in retaliating the girl ordered a 'Supersonic' attack. Goldeen heard and obliged. Swimming swiftly from the depths of the pool she rose up behind
Shadow issuing a barely visible wave sound. He cringed for a moment but it did not seem to have taken effect... or so Mag though as he ordered another Hidden Power. Instead of creating the orbs Shadow attempted to tackle Goldeen while it was still submerged.

"Nice try trainer but your pokemon just made a big mistake!" the opposing trainer sneered. "While it is under there drag it down and hit with a few Water Pulses!" Goldeen also seemed to laugh and swam above Shadow, who was still somewhat confused but the water had cleared his head for the most part, launching a powerful Water Pulse sending him deeper into the water. Now fully recovered from the confusion it was Shadow's turn to fight back.

Well this sucks. I gotta get him out of the water soon or else he'll suffocate and faint. "Okay Shadow, let's turn the tide here, get to the surface by any means neccessary. Try to get rid of the enemy if you can." Mag said hoping that Shadow could hear him through the water. He of course could hear quite well and knew what he had to do. Starting his doggy paddle up, Goldeen came back with a Horn Attack impeding the way once again. Deciding swimming wouldn't cut it Shadow began a Hidden Power. Aiming the orbs below himself he force them to collide. The resulting mini-explosion was enough to shoot him out of the water while knocking back Goldeen. Shaking off the watery fur Shadow prepared to take out this annoying foe.

Torchic still seemed like she was raring to go, evident by the wild Flamethrower she fired at the Sandshrew. The Ground-type stared at Torchic in awe; the attack had missed by so much that Sandshrew didn't even have to move an inch in order to avoid it.

"Your Pokemon needs more practice!" The old woman shouted, her weathered hands balled into tight fists. "Go Sandy! Attack with Crush Claw!" Snapping out of its daunted state, Sandshrew blinked and moved forward, its claw shining with a white radiance. It slashed at Torchic with all its might, almost recklessly. The young fire-chick chirped loudly as she jumped back, all Sandshrew managed to do was grab a claw full of her downy feathers.

"Don't give up, Torchic!" Jaeshan called encouragingly. The young Pokemon was already showing signs of greatness, even though this was only her second battle. She hopped from foot to foot, and then lurched forward, striking her foe for another Scratch attack. The Sandshrew was looking pretty intimidated by now; he hadn't expected to fight such an energetic opponent.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 24, 2007 11:29 am

The elderly woman shook her head. "You might as well give up, Whelp. You won't be able to defeat my Sandy!" She pointed at Torchic. "Scratch it again, Sandy!" Now starting to show signs of exhaustion, the Sandshrew tried to scratch at Torchic again. This time, its sharp claws made direct contact with the small chick, and she let out a pained cry.

"Come on Torchic!" Jaeshan said. "Try your Flamethrower again!" And don't forget to aim... he thought, smiling a little. She may have been eager to learn, but she still had a ways to go. Panting a little, the small orange Fire Pokemon fixed her beady black eyes on the tawny Sandshrew. She let out a fierce cry, and her small body started to glow with a reddish, fiery radiance. "What's that?" the blonde trainer gasped, taking a step back.

"Oh my!" the woman exclaimed, also backing up a bit. "That's Blaze! There are a few Fire Pokemon have the ability to boost their own Fire-type attacks when their stamina falls below a certain level! Watch out, Sandy!" she cried fearfully.

Her warning would be in vain, though. Torchic opened her beak wide and expelled a powerful blast of flames, amplified by her Blaze ability. When the flames finally vanished, Sandy stood before them, gasping for air. Its body was covered in sooty black patches, and it toppled over onto its stomach. Torchic began to hop up and down excitedly, her body still giving off the bright amber-coloured light as she celebrated her first actual victory.

Miharu stared out the window for a while longer, catching sight of a younger boy with a Beedrill about to begin a battle with another young girl. Her Pokemon was a small, blue bird with wings seemed to be made out of fluffy white cotton. Almost absentmindedly Miharu reached for her PokeDex and scanned the strange, cute bird. "Swablu," she murmured, reading over its entry carefully before she put the device away. Feeling a gentle tap on her shoulder, Miharu turned around slowly. "Hmm? Oh, Tingle, it's you." The Metang was floating beside her, holding Lily and Aska's Poke Balls in its clawed 'hands'.

"Thank you, Tingle," Miharu said quietly, accepting them both and turning to look back out the window. The Beedrill seemed ready to get going, stabbing the air repeatedly with its needlelike forelegs. "I think we should continue our journey," she told the Metang. "Let's head back through Ilex Forest, now that we can cut down the tree that is always blocking our path." She smiled wistfully. As much as she loved it here in Azalea, the beautiful scenery, wonderfully kind people and adorable Slowpoke, she felt an undeniable urge to explore new places. Maybe we can even challenge the Goldenrod City gym leader, she thought, already feeling a bit more confidence about herself since her defeat of Bugsy.

It was then, when she thought of the young gym leader that she felt a small tug of guilt. "We definitely overdid it back there," she sighed, thinking about the new Hive Badge that rested safely with her Zephyr Badge. Someday, I'll battle Falkner and Bugsy again, and they both shall be spectacular battles...

"Don't worry about it," Keegan smirked, still standing with the fire pony. "And thanks. It was a good battle." He felt himself blanch a little at the mention of Flannery's name; once again the dream coming to mind. "Y-yeah, next I'm supposed to head back home to Lavaridge to challenge her. I'm not in any rush though," he added, remembering how he'd been unable to enter the gym due to some strange, unseen force. "That's fine, though. I've got all the company I need, although yours was more than welcome." He stroked Apollo's muzzle gently. "And I'm guessing the next time I see you, you'll be a big, strong Rapidash."

By now both pokemon were quite worn down from all the effort they had exerted thus far. But not wanting to loose just now Mag believed Shadow was in the lead, but not by much. "Hit it with another Hidden Power!" Mag shouted. "Water Pulse Goldy!" the girl exclaimed.

Deciding against a head on assult Shadow took an evasive approach charging up his own attack. The ghostly wisps floated orbited around him as he dashed off of the current platform as a pulsing buldge of water blasted behind him. "Keep it up!" the girl shouted to her Goldeen. Noting the enemies position Shadow began to move in a wide arc around her hoping he could come in close on one of the platforms and smash it with his attack.

Another Water Pulse slammed into the platform he had previously been on. It was good that Shadow had kept ahead of the attacker. Now he decided it would be a good time to start the barrage. He launched off one of the seven orbs that surrounded him. Goldeen ducked under the water and avoided the blow popping out and launching another Water Pulse which Shadow also dodged. This time aiming it downward instead of just horizontally Shadow sent off two orbs this time.

They moved in two opposing curves and slammed together below the water near Goldeen. It couldn't dodge this one and just as it recovered found there to be four more and a charging Eevee upon itself. After another large splash Goldeen was defeated.
