"Huzzah!" the swashbuckler cheered as the torch lit up and his vision shifted for normal light in the close proximity of the torch.

Now, using the torch's light to take a look at the object in question, Turriens really didnt know what to make of it except that it had holes in it and smelled. He wiggled his nose as he puzzled over this odd item for several seconds...

Until he decided to go explore the bottom of the stairs instead.

So, down he went, careful of his steps so that he didnt trip and then have a nasty fall all the way down to the bottom. Maybe there would something more interesting at the bottom than on the top.

Ruuvan was standing towards the front of the airship now, moving after it left Latent and moved up into the air. The distance between the airship and Latent Docks didn't stop him from hearing a distant rumbling that one could mistake for gunfire, but it was too far away to warrant questioning; he had something else to get done before worrying about some small Pirate attack on the docks.
"How long does it take for something this fast to get to an island?" Seeing as he had figured out a way to get to the ground, using the bow and that marvelous green arrow to stop himself being crushed into the ground, Ruuvan just wanted to get it over and done with and find this Windmill place. Everyone he had asked about the dark figure, mainly that one Hotel Manager, gave him the impression it couldn't be anyone else except Maximos, hence why he was so anxious to find out who it was.

:: D simply shrugged his shoulders and continued peering over the edge of the ship.::

Ruuvan exhaled sharply and pushed himself away from the edge of the ship, turning around and walking off in an attempt to find the Captain of this vessel, all the while thinking about the distance he'd need to fire the arrow in order to safely get him in the area of effect and not cause whiplash or anything, but that would all come later.

So, after a few minutes of wandering about the deck with his bags in hand, Ruu ventured upon the guy standing over a rather unconventional-looking steering mechanism, obviously the thing that controlled the ship's direction, but it looked a hell of a lot different to that on other sea-orientated ships he had seen.
"Hey there." Ruuvan smiled at the man and nodded to him, waiting for some kind of reply before continuing with his question, "How long until we're over the island with the Windmill?"

::Thankfully, Ruuvan had stumbled upon the Navigator.::

1 day!

::He said with a triumphant nod, and a smile, and continued steering the ship::

"Alright, thanks." Ruuvan said with another smile and a nod, turning around to move back to D peering over the edge. Seeing as they'd be stuck on this thing for a while, one day to be precise, so what better opportunity to ask the bow about the arrows again? Now that she knew his memory was wiped clean and he couldn't remember anything, Ruu was sure he could get taught the basics again.

"How about we try again, eh?" Ruuvan switched back to his thought-talking as he slipped the bow into his hands, after placing the bags on the ground of course, and placed the quiver in front of him so he could see the arrows, "What type of arrow does what?" Unless there was an easily distinguishable way of telling them apart, Ruu would have to rely on luck more than anything.

::Laughter could be heard from the bow, as the arrows sat idly in the quiver.::

The ones with bottles are labled for such, as for the rest they dont do much.

::There was a pause, a riddled and rhymed answer...that much be Ruuvans favorite kind. The bow could be heard laughing a bit more before she spoke again::

The arrows fly, thats all they do. I do the rest, I make them boom.

Riddles were never Ruuvan's strong point, seeing as he preferred to shoot first and figure things out later, but he had been faced with many riddles and such in these past few days that he had started to try and figure them out without resorting to brute force. So, with this new riddle taking a foothold in his mind, Ruuvan decided to take the arrows out of the quiver and lay them in a way so he could see the shapes and such of every one.
"Well, seeing as I need to know one type for when we get to the island, which one would cause that Emerald colour? You know: The one that lifted the boat into the air and then lowered it; it might be useful to slow my descent."

Your silly Ruu Ruu, you dont remember anything do you?

::She laughed again.::

You hold more power than you know...all you do is think. I make it go.

::As she said that Ruu would see one of the more normal looking arrows, glow a faint green and then fade back to normal. Ruuvan laid out exactly 30 arrows. 20 of them liked entirely normal, the feathers were wooden, the arrows themselves were a dark ebony and the feathers were a bright green like the strange grains in the bow itself. However the remaining 10 were nowhere near normal. Several of them didnt even look like arrows, they were long stalks with feathers or balls, or even rings on the end of them. 3 of the arrows had 4 seperate arrow heads, and others had strange bottles which surrounded the heads. The bottles read things like "Luxos", "Darkus", "Pyrus", "Diath". Things of that nature. Quite odd.

The bow could be felt waiting silent for Ruuvan to scan over the arrows.::

It was true: Ruuvan didn't remember a thin, except the name of the world he came from, what his true form was and who he was fighting with again against, but this bow and its accompanying arrows were a mystery to him. Images were starting to flash in his mind of when he used to use the bow, each one showing a different scene depending on the word the Bow was saying.

Anyway, once she had finished talking and Ruuvan had time to look over the arrows, he slowly put the plain ones back into the quiver and stared at the bottle-top and strange-looking ones.
"So, aside from these strange ones here, I just have to think of what I want them to do? Like making a gust of wind slow a fall, or fire to make an explosion?" After whatever answer she gave, Ruu went on to ask about the other ones, "What do these strange ones do and what do the bottles say?" It was all going to be a quick learning curve, or slow depending on her answers, but Ruu really wanted to know what it all meant.

Ruuvan
"So, aside from these strange ones here, I just have to think of what I want them to do? Like making a gust of wind slow a fall, or fire to make an explosion?"

No my love, thats not it. I see what you need, and I make it. You see fire, I make it freeze, you see a climb, I make it ease...I give what you need in dire times...plus a few rhymes.

::There was a sense of satisfaction in her voice. A bit of pride at describing her more powerful features. What women isnt proud of their features?::

Ruuvan
"What do these strange ones do and what do the bottles say?"

::She paused for a bit releasing a few sparse, "Hmm's" all followed by a single long "hmmmmmm". And then she spoke. It was short and to the point, but it would get the answer across that Ruuvan needed most. And of course, that which was most truthful.::

I'm not an elf, I'm a bow....I do not know.

It was now that Ruuvan realised the full power of his bow, what with it having a mind of its own and all, but it was able to figure out what his target needed and do it for him; AI eat your heart out!
"That's pretty amazing..." These would be the first words he said outloud, both in answer to the woman in his bow and to clairfy to D that he wasn't ignoring him in any way, "It'll be a day before we reach the isle, D, so you might want to find a place to sleep on this ship." Ruu figured that the crew quarters would only be for those who ran the ship, what with it being a cargo transport and not a cruise ship - as the man at the docks wanted to make clear - so they'd have to find a way to keep warm over the night, but that would come later. For now, Ruu would just look out over the edge at the sea, cradling the bow in his arms and thinking about their task.

Ruuvan
"That's pretty amazing..."

::She laughed a pride stuffed laugh. And spoke aloud.::

Of course, of course, I am, I am. God I'm such a ham.

::She chuckled again::

I kid I kid, you know me....speaking of kids, I think we need a bed for lil'D.

Ruuvan
"It'll be a day before we reach the isle, D, so you might want to find a place to sleep on this ship."

::Its true, Ruu said these things so that D wouldnt feel left out, but he didnt. With a bit of a sleight of hand, D had snatched one of Ruu's arrows and held it in his hands as he went to peer over the deck of the ship. Sadly, it was reaching noon and it was naptime...and so D began to nap....right there. He slumped forward partially leaning on the border, and partially kneeling on the floor, with the arrow safely clutched in hand. He was a child holding a souvenir from his favorite super hero. And a smile was plastered across his face.

Of course, despite the serenity of his position, he was teetoring over the edge of the deck, and a strong enough jostle, could knock the sleeping, snoring child right overboard.::

It was quite something to see D entering the land of nod whilst still standing, or half-standing at least, clutching the arrow so very tightly in his hand, but that didn't stop the fact he could've fallen off had Ruuvan not done anything. So, taking off his jacket and placing it on D's shoulders, Ruu tipped him backwards and cradled the child in his arms. With D now wrapped in his coat and all snug, Ruu turned his back to the side of the ship and slumped down against it, placing D down beside him so his head wrested on his knee. There wasn't much else he could do now but close his eyes and attempt to sleep himself, though he didn't find it as easy as a child.
"Goodnight." The last things he said to the bow and D before falling asleep himself.

'Night, night.

::She said. And night brought nothing but the sound of the crew sleeping. Some waking, a few sparse people passing by the location of the group until finally the crack of dawn, and quiet voice in Ruuvans mind...::

Wake up my love the sun rises, with bits of love for your eyes, and wake up my love you've gone and slept the whole night, now open those eyes, and see the light...

::She sung to him, like a mother to a child, not a lullaby to wake him, but a melody to pull him from what would have been the absolute most restful sleep he'd had in years. It was as if once, and for all, he had rested entirely, both body and mind. He would feel knew, fresh. And he would hear....the pit pat of feet. The Captain made his way to the group, again with a clipboard.::

Alright, we're here. The island is coming up. At our speed you've got 2 minutes to make the fall, aim right, or you get wet. And he meant just what he said. Just off the port bow a tiny speck of an island was coming into view.

D was totally into the idea. He had been awake before Ruuvan, and had take to playing with his make-shift toys, until the captain came. And when he the captain spoke, the little boy immediately hoped onto the thin barrier of the ship, and smiled at Ruuvan before leaning forward....and free falling. Or at least he seemed to be...for now. His arms and legs extended, his baggy clothes flapping in the wind, and his laughing voice fading as he fell farther, and farther...::
