It was a calm cool breezy evening on the plains. The sun was low in the sky, getting ready to set on another chapter in life. Soon, night would fall, marking the end of the tested daytime and cast the world into a time of dark. But the world wouldn't need to worry, for after weathering the night, the sun would rise once more, marking the beginning of a new day, and a new chapter. The clouds were painted with oranges and yellows, and the grass waved lazily in the breeze. It was here, now, at this place, this boundary between night and day that Ryugi Kazamaru would be found. Standing at the foot of the only tree for miles in any direction. He took a deep breath and sighed, looking around as if waiting for someone or something.

Damrius stopped a good ten or so feet from his mentor, and looked at from his left side. He had his sunglasses covering his eyes, the mirrored kind, as he stared towards the sunset.
His right hand was wrapped so tightly around the hilt of his sword that his knuckles were showing through the translucent layer of skin that covered them. He was anxious, yet his face did now show it, and remained in a calm manner.
His right eye twitched, only shown by the movement of the pinkish skin that was one of his newest scars, one still pink, as if fresh.
He stood there, silent, and transfixed on twilight sun. His black cotton bracers, which the material covered was metal, sat heavily on his arms. Sweat ran down his forehead, and his body felt light without the weight of his cuirass sitting on his torso.

 Well Damrius, ready to go? His face was kind, calm, gentle as he spoke. His red eyes shone softly in the dimming light as he spoke. He wiped a hand through his hair and sighed. He watched as the young man arrived, his knuckles white with strain against the hilt of his sword. He could see the sweat run down his brow as he stood there with his sunglasses. It was clear he was nervous, worried, but that was to be expected. When someone is unsure of themselves, and worried about the judgment of others, they often get worried or uncomfortable, and Ryugi hoped to remove that strain from his pupil by his words. If he was worried and nervous, he wouldn't think as clearly, and Ryugi wanted Damrius to fight him at his best.

Damrius didn't even seem to acknowledge that his mentor had said something. All he did was openly draw in a charge of energy, basically replying with a yes through that form. He drew his sword ever so slightly, so as to removied the strain of usually pulling it free, for that could cost him a pressure second, but otherwise made no moves.

Ryugi hopped back several feet, pulled in a charge, and shot forward, leading with his left elbow, his right arm trailing behind.

Damrius pulled in another charge, but didn't even so much as directly face Ryugi. All he did was move his head slightly so he could see Ryugi coming at him with his periphrial vision better. As he waited for Ryugi to get a little bit out of arm's reach, he jumped to his right, at an angle, just far enough backwords so as to be out of reach of Ryugi's left arm,a nd completely avoid his right.
He also prepped for a defensive maneuver with his own energy, just in case he needed to use it to defend against the full brunt of one of Ryugi's tactics.

Ryugi shot forward and fired off a punch with his right hand, only to see his pupil dashing to the left. So much for that. He quickly used his movement to spin himself around to face Damrius, turning on his heel as he crouched low to avoid a counter attack to most of his body...

Damrius pulled in another charge, and his gripped loosened on the sword, only so much that it would be easy to draw if the need arose.
Once again, he stood there, only this time his gaze was fixed upon Ryugi, crouching like a dork. Damrius was going to see what he had in him before doing anything so rash as to attack or counter him. He had no need to, yet.

Damrius jumped to his right this time, putting more force into it, and drawing his sword. The sound of wood shattering would fill the air, followed by a barage of splinters dropping towards Ryugi.
The cause of this was Damrius literally ripping his sword free from its sheath. As he jumped, he twisted in mid air, and would bring the flat of the blade coming down towards Ryugi's left, outstretched arm.

The sword would hit Ryugi's left forearm guard as he leapt towards Damrius. This fight was going to go nowhere fast if all of Ryugi's hand to hand attacks kept missing... So, he recovered from his tackle and walked towards his pupil at a fast clip...

Damrius pulled in another charge, and waited for Ryugi to near again, but this time he charged in, swinging his sword at Ryugi's stomach from the right.
This was going to get nowhere fast, true, but the more they waited, the harder the fight would become for both of them.

Dame charged and cut with his sword, but before the attack could get to Ryugi, he lifted his foot and kicked outward towards Dame's chest and torso area as the blade clanged against his shinguard. Ryugi's hope was to out-range Dame's attack with his leg as well as block it in the same motion.

As the foot connected with Damrius, he pulled in a charge, and let out a small whimper as the wind was knocked out of him. He staggered back, gasping for breath, but his reactions barely faltered.
As soon as he drew in a breathe, his eyes glowed behind his sunglasses for ever so much of a second, it could have been just a trick of the light.

He staggered back...(5) [12] As Dame staggered, Ryugi shot forward and spun into a side kick to hit him before he could fully regain balance. He'd seen an opening, and would fight to exploit it for all it was worth. He body was close to unleashing his aura, and as the fight hadn't shown any aspect of energy use, Ryugi prevented himself from charging any further to keep the aura contained in the interest of fairness...
