Vincent snarled at Sten, then sighed and, rather regretfully, undid the spell he'd woven to attach the claw permanently to his stump; he'd pick it up again later. Pulling away, he retreated back to the air, watching the other as he began to think strategy.

Sten frowned as Vincent left the claw behind and sat down on the ground, covering himself with a dome of earth.

Vincent snapped his jaws in frustration, making another few circled above the clearing. Then, hovering, he used that tiny speck of earth magic he contained to call out and forge a brief connection with the small metallic particles in the ground. Rather hoping this would work, he then aimed a bolt of lightning down at the earth. It caught hold, but didn't sink in and take as he'd hoped. However, the area above ground now absolutely hummed with lightning; if any part of Sten surfaced, he'd probably get a nasty shock.

Sten frowned within his self made cave and began burrowing a bit deeper.

Vincent growled; he could feel the earthworm getting farther away. Knowing the lightning wouldn't hurt him, wanting to see if he could entice Sten into coming out before the energy dwindled and faded, he came in for a landing.

Deep underground and heading towards the nearby lake, Sten grinned and sent a few pillars of earth to shoot up underneath Vincent, nothing lethal of course but enough to knock the large dragon around a bit.

Vincent growled as one of the pillars scraped along his side, removing several loose scales; he'd have to remember to collect those later. He took flight again, eying the river, knowing there was a way he could put the water to use, but not sure yet what it was.

Sten came up into the cave just behind the waterfall before letting the roof of the tunnel collapse underneath the lake, filling most of it with water. Sitting down he waited, the cave making him feel uneasy for some reason.

Annoyed because he could no longer sense the man, Vincent roared, then took a pot-shot at the lake. The lightening ran through it's waters, and into the cave that Sten was hiding in. It came nowhere near the man, of course, but it did allow Vincent to locate him, and feel the strange energy in the cave.

Sten finally had enough of the cave and jumped out, crossing the lake by hopping on stone pillars he rose from the ground. "What is with that cave?" he asked Vincent, looking back at the waterfall and shaking himself to get rid of some of the water.

"I don't know." Vincent answered, voice deep and rumbling, and sounding rather concerned. "It does not feel right." he added, coming down to rest on the ground near Sten.

"Is it a draw or postponed?" Sten asked, pulling Vincent's claw from the ground and offering it to him.

"I care not either way, Earthworm." Vincent answered, accepting the claw delicately with his other and fixing it back on the stump. It was only then that he turned back into a human, going to grab his shirt and pull it on before stepping up beside Sten once more, arms folded over his chest, gazing at the waterfall.

"You want me to close it?" Sten asked, referring to the cave, it wouldn't be too difficult to do.

"No... no." Vincent answered, shaking his head. "If you close it, whoever has been tainting it won't have cause to come back. However..." he paused and glanced sidelong at Sten. "If you could watch it, I would be in your debt."
