Hi, my name is Jason. I am 34, 35 in January. I am a single parent of a 14 year old daughter who is a Gaian. We live in NY but I am originally from CA. I work second shift as a mechanic and my daughter stays home with my disabled mother. If that sounds like trouble to you, you're probably right. I came to Gaia to find out why my daughter was spending sooo much time here and found that there were alot of nice people here, parents going through the same things who offered encouragement, and suprisingly teens who did the same things who offered reassurance that it is only a phase.
Simply put I was hooked. This is a great way to stay connected and I am looking forward to hearing all of your stories and sharing some of my own.

My name is Tammy. I'm 33 and have 3 kids. Two girls and a boy. My oldest is my 14 yr-old daughter, my 12 yr.-old son is the middle child and has ADHD and my youngest daughter is 9 yrs. old. I live in Illinois. I'm a single mom, but have a wonderful boyfriend who loves my children. My son simply adores him. My hobbies include everything to do with my kids and bf, reading,starting my own business, crafts and tv (when there's time). If you want to know any more, just ask, I'm always looking for good friends. biggrin

Hi there everyone.
I am a real parent of a teenager who I'm very lucky to still have and very, very proud of. She was almost killed in an auto accident where she suffered multiple injuries including "mild" brain damage. She has worked very hard to get her life back and has done so well that some people she meets can't even tell that she's been through such a horrible experience.
She was very motivated to recover as fully as possible so she could get out of rehab and get home to her friends. She hated the wheelchair and the walker. She talked to a few of her friends on the phone while in rehab, but wanted to be with them in person. She is also determined to avoid the special ed label, so she works around her short-term memory problems by working extra hard on her school assignments. She works herder now than she ever did before and is doing just as well in school as she ever did because of it. We don't expect her to make honor roll anymore, but she still manages to at least pass most classes during most grading periods and willingly goes to tutoring for classes that she isn't understanding well. She spends a lot of time at school now, but that's okay with me, even though it means a lot of extra driving. She's worth it!

Hi my name is Mellissa and I'm a 29 year old mom of two, my daughter is 8 and my son is 6 they both have ADHD so my life is pretty hectic lol. I've been married for about 5 years now to my dear hubby(pain in my rump rofl ) I have two cats and when I'm on the comp I doll and I'm here on Gaia. smile

Hello My name is Danny and I am a proud father of 3 kids and I have been married for almost 3 years. My kids are 11 my son and 9 and 4 both girls. Let see what kind of stuff do i like to do when i have time from work and spending time with my youngest I like to draw, hang out with friends, watch TV and listen to music all kinds of music. I am little bit of a bind with my 2 older kids my oldest daughter lives with her mom up by Chicago and my son lives with his grandparents I talk to him trough e-mail and my oldest girl doesnt even know me anymore cause her mom doesnt want me in her life but I pay child support for her but hopefully some time down the line she will want to know who I am (I HOPE). Well I guess that is about it for now.

Hello!
My name is James and I'm new on Gaia and therefore this guild.
I'm 26, married wth a lil 4 year old girl named Aria.
I'm originally from New Zealand but am currently living in Charlotte, NC (I've been in the US for about 4yrs)
I do most of the kid-looking-after stuff around here and am currently looking for some sorta graveyard shift job as my Wife works in the evenings.
I'm prety much interested in every besides sports and cars and I'm rather shy, esp. on Internet forums, and no I'm not a newbie, I've been using the net since I was 13... I just think people are gonna bite my head off...eek!

Your little girls name is almost the same name as my little girls name ^_^ Yuh...you know what's funny...every time we introduce her to someone they always think that we are saying "Arianna" instead of "Aria" Even people who we know, for example my wife's stepmom to this day still calls her that...yeesh. It's that or Ariel. No one ever gets the name right.
