There was a moment between the time Sheba spoke, to the point where her words actually reached Ken. He blinked a couple times and glanced over at her, finding that he'd spaced out for a bit. The fire in his hand immediately disappeared as he examined the girl. A smirk formed on his lips before a short chuckle brushed past them. "Uh, it's called pyrokinesis, babe. I was born with the power, I guess. Don't see how else I could've gotten 'em." He brought his elbow onto the table and lifted his hand, setting his chin upon the knuckles of his fingers. He quirked a brow as she held out her hand, introducing herself. "The name's Ken." His body manifested itself suddenly before her with instantaneous speed. He quickly grabbed her hand, smiling, then shook it for a moment. "So, is there a reason you're speaking to me, gorgeous?" He winked and let a short laugh eminate from his throat. She was pretty cute, he supposed.

Ken did catch a hint of sadness upon the woman's face, but thought nothing of it. He wasn't prone to invading other's private thoughts, even though he could do that very thing with his powers. He smiled and took a step back. His eyes went wide, for unfortunately, he'd went back against the chair and tripped, falling onto his bum rather hard. He winced and muttered a curse word under his breath, than looked up and laughed, feeling a bit embarassed.

"Nice to meet you, Orthae." Mizuki said with a smile. Then, she took the cat and her arms and cradled him. "Peace? That's a good name. Well then, nice meeting you too, Peace." She said, lifting him up and then nuzzling his nose. "He's so adorable!" She said with a small laugh, obviously unable to get over such a creature. After all, as a human, her knowledge of magical beings was limited. And, meeting Peace, Orthae, and Ryuu had made her day. Looking to Orthae she hugged the cat. "So, is it your first day here?" She asked, scratching Peace behind the ears, hoping to make him purr.

Sheba was taken slightly aback by the man's behavior, it had been a long time since anyone had spoken to her like that, though she had grown used to it while it lasted, but she laughed after a few seconds. The term, however, 'babe' seemed off to her, wasn't 'babe' a term used when mentioning a child or innocent? She shook that thought from her head, here it could mean anything.
Sheba smiled at him, and watched in both horror and amazement as Hei tripped and fell. She extended a hand to help him up, trying to stop herself from giggling.
"Its great to meet you Ken," Sheba said with a smile, she wondered what the wink had been for though, perhaps it was a custom here? "Pyrokinesis..." She thought as her mind wandered, "It doesn't sound familiar, perhaps what we call our abilities and they call theirs is different names... He reminds me of Cyrus in a way, perhaps we can be friends? He seems to be nice enough and he's rather open about his abilities.... Maybe there accepted here? Never the less, I should be wary."

Laughing softly Orthae smiled and looked around. “Yeah, first day here, haven’t even bothered to find my dorm room yet. Maybe I should but, this school is so big...” He sighed and looked around. “I never knew there were so many people with powers.” Placing his arms on the table he laughed and looked over at Mizuki. “So, you’re human or?” Peace softly began to purr as he curled up in Mizuki’s arms a look of pure bliss plastered across his face. Looking up at her he softly licked her nose and kept purring.

Mizuki looked up to Orthae, happy now that she had new friends here. "Yes, I'm human, and you? Oh, and you don't have to answer the question if you don't want to." She said, adding the second half of her statement quickly. One thing that she didn't want to do was to offend other people. When she felt the cat's tongue lick her nose she couldn't help but giggle a little bit. She loved animals, having taken care of strays that came by when she was home. For a moment she felt homesick, but Mizuki pushed that aside as she placed a small kiss on Peace's head. Cradling him she held him close, cuddling him as she heard him purr and was happy he liked it.

“Half elf...” He said as he quickly stole a piece of food off Mizuki’s plate and smiled. “My father was a high elf, or as he said Eladrin. My mother was human.” Sighing he closed his eyes and leaned back, tossing the small morsel of food into the air catching it in his mouth. “Never got to meet mom, she died during child birth.” Pausing he opened one eye and looked at Mizuki. “At least that is what dad told me.”

Closing his eye he sighed and remained in the position he was. “Dad was a black magic user, one of the best in the village, my mom... she used white magic. Me on the other hand, I use both. Though my dark magic is the dominate one.” Laughing softly he ran his hands through his long silver hair and smiled. “All I can really do is summon Peace there with my white magic.” Opening both eyes he turned towards Mizuki and raised his eyebrow. “I hope you don’t mind me asking but, what happened to cause you to wear those bandages?”

((Yeah, uhh, sorry, I kinda mixed this character up with another one since it's been a while. His name is actually Ken. My bad. ^^; wink )

Ken looked up and laughed nervously before taking her hand and allowing her to assist him with getting back up. "Thanks..." After he was standing, he patted himself down, getting dust off of his clothing. Once he was finished, he glanced back up into Sheba's eyes. "I can do much more than create and manipulate fire. Actually, it's in a category of weak skills. My strongest power has to do with electricity." It would take more than a human gaze to see the almost spark of electricity coil around Ken's body. He prided himself on that one ability, considering it had nothing to do with his psionic abilities. It came from something completely different. "I don't think I'm an elemental, but along the lines, I'd say." Ken shrugged and stopped speaking, waiting for Sheba to speak up. He hoped she was into his power, priding himself on it. A wide grin appeared on the young man's face.

((Lol. I understand, happens a lot more often then you'd think))
Sheba wasn't about to entertain the thought that the man would prove a danger to her staying. His aura was innocent enough, far more then anyone she had so far met.... But that didn't say much. His eyes intrigued her, as it was commonplace to think of them as a passage into the soul. If it were correct, then his was a very long and twisted pathway; hidden well behind a subconscious shield. If Sheba had been anything more then a corein magic user, perhaps she would've been able to read his eyes like a book. But she was not.
"Electricity?" Sheba stated slowly, a small smile crept into her face, "As in a bolt of lightning sort of electricity?" Her mind wandered; what was an elemental? She had heard so many different a thing over the years of them, but had no clue what to expect from this world; just as there were many recipes for a single dish, there too were many traits and mixed feelings of what an elemental was.
Things like this intrigued her, the shear fact that anyone dared speak of their abilities alone overwhelmed her. Sheba began to like this world more and more as she observed it more closely.
"It seems interesting to entertain the idea that a place so peaceful can house so many potent poisons," Sheba said to herself as she came off the topic, not sure if Ken had heard her closing remark.

((Sorry, been busy lately))

The young man's eye closed a bit more as his lips pulled back, revealing a rather toothy smirk. He was glad she seemed to be interested in his powers. He wasn't much into bragging, but he enjoyed talking about atleast samples of his powers. He would never give away just how powerful he currently knew he was. "Uh, well, I wouldn't go that far, but I can manipulate particles in the air and create a current of electricity. I have various ways to use this power as well." His smirk became a warm smile. He heard her last comment and lifted his arms, crossing them gently. "Yeah, just imagine what would happen if there was a riot or a bunch of kids decided to go on a killing spree..." His face became a bit more grim. That was a serious matter. Power was corrupt, there was no doubt on his mind about that subject. He just hoped that one within the building wasn't too twisted. He hated bloodshed of any kind. "So..." He looked back into her eyes once again. "Mind if I ask what you are and what you're capable of doing?" He asked, his facial expression loosening up a bit.

Sheba frowned slightly, her mind was forced into the uncomfortable silence she had taken up many times before. A riot wouldn't be so bad, so long as there were people able to control it. But murder... That was another subject altogether. She remained silent for a second.
"Its happened before, in my homeland, and that of others; people have killed. They called it the great genocides," Sheba stated quietly, "But in this place, that can never happen. Because here the chaos is organized, even the darkest moments will be shrouded in light," She smiled before continuing with a happier edge to her voice, "Simple things, I cast spells; sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. They always take time and energy, though, sometimes if I have the right material I can amplify the effects. Spell casting isn't a very important ability though, yours rates much higher in so many ways. You can actually help people Ken, you can accomplish great things so simply." Sheba smiled, to be great help to people, not a hindrance to be discriminated against because of what she was; that was the dream she had once led. "Power must always be balanced Ken," Sheba said with a small laugh, "Just as there is no good, there is no bad either; only opinion. Having the power to make a difference is the deciding factor."

Listening to Orthae's story, Mizuki couldn't help but feel sad. However, she didn't show it, a bit happy that he had opened up to her. "Oh, these?" She asked, lifting up an arm. "I took a Tenshi exam recently. And, I guess I was a bit careless, but I got the job done!" She held up her arm jokingly as if she was flexing it, then doing an arm pump. “You should think of taking the test sometime. It is actually kind of fun.” She said with a smile, bringing her arm back down to hold Peace.

Ken noticed immediately that the word murder had downed Sheba quickly. He leaned back a bit on his heel as she spoke, her words sounding quite wise. The genocide part she had brought up, bothered him greatly. Was it her people that had been wiped out, or another. He shrugged, deciding it best not to ask questions on such touchy topics. He lifted a hand, rubbing his chin gently as he thought, a smile forming once again on his lips. "Thanks for the advice, and hell, you underestimate yourself, I think. I'm sure you can do some pretty damn amazing things, no?" He thought for a moment, leaving the conversation silent before he snapped his fingers, chuckling slightly. "We should train together or somethin'. I bet it'd be fun. You have a cell phone?" He asked, hoping even though she was from somewhere else, she knew what they were and had one herself. It'd be a lot easier to contact her with one.

Sheba laughed as she saw Ken stroke his imaginary beard as he thought.
"I guess somethings never change..." She said to herself, "Cell-phone? No clue what that is," Her brows knit together in thought, "Is it something to do with a cell? And this thing called a 'phone'? I'd love to train though, it hasn't been a while since I last had someone to spar with... Then again this school is crazy, who knows maybe those 'tests' they put us through were actually the training rooms."
Was it custom for the children here to learn to fight or die? Why would they do that though, after all, dead bodies did make a great many messes.... Sheba's mind went cold, a great many messes indeed...

Laughing Orthae shook his head. “Maybe I will. But, I don’t know, if the test can scar such a beautiful woman as you...” He said softly as he moved his hand to brush his fingers softly against her cheek. “They maybe it is too harsh for me.” However, in the back of his mind Orthae thought to himself “Maybe this exam wouldn’t be so bad; I could always find new people to join my cause.”

Shaking his head and smiling, Orthae began to speak once more. “So, would you like to go walk around or are you too busy to show a new school mate around?” Standing up he extended his hand towards Mizuki. “I’ll let you hold Peace until he gets too tired, he seems to really like you.”

Upon hearing its name, Peace’s ears perked right up as it looked at its owner. “Meow...” it said softly as it moved from Mizuki’s embrace until it lay across her shoulders, licking her cheek softly as it meowed once more. Closing its eyes Peace began to purr softly, its heart beating softly.

As Orthae's fingers grazed her cheek Mizuki couldn't help but blush slightly, never having a guy do that to her before. Still, composing herself she thought about his proposal. "Heh, well, I'm not sure." She said, smiling a little as she patted Peace on the head. "The test isn't so bad. And, if you don't feel so confident about it, why don't we have a match, along with Ryuu." She said, indirectly introducing Ryuu to Orthae. Turning so that she could face both of them a plan formed in her mind. "In fact, why don't we have a one-on-one-on-one match? Every warrior for him or herself?" Honestly, she had been wanting to fight, despite her injuries. After all, Nishimura didn't want to become rusty. What more, she wanted to see what these guys were made of. Of course, this could all be done in good fun, and she hoped that they saw it that way.
