"Now that you all have seen the handsigns, who wants to give it a try?" Everyone's hands went up, except for Rianna, who was still looking out the window. Iruka saw this, and smirked.
"How about you, Rianna?""Huh?.... Oh, right. Sorry about that. I would be glad to, Iruka-sensei." Rianna stood up, and started to go down towards the front. While going down, Rianna heard little bits of laughter coming from a few of her classmates. Rianna rolled her eyes, sighed, and continued on her way.
When she got to the front, Iruka glared at the ones who were laughing, which immediately stopped. Iruka turned to Rianna, and said, "Whenever you are ready, you may begin."

Rianna concentrated her chakra, and did the handsigns needed. "Bushin No Jutsu!"Rianna cried, and smoke filled the room. When the smoke did clear, a sickly form of herself was seen. "It's okay Rianna. Try again, and make sure you don't use too much chakra," Iruka said. Rianna nodded, and tried again.
This time, when the smoke cleared, Rianna stood there with another perfect replica of herself standing next to her. The class clapped, and Rianna nodded. "Good job, Rianna. I hope everyone can do this jutsu by tomorrow, as we will be having a test on this. For now, class dismissed." Rianna walked out of the classroom, a spring in her step and whistling a tune, as she had just mastered another jutsu.

When Waya got up for school, he sure was cranky. He complaind, and complained, and complained. But finally he got up. He put his ninja outfit on, got his kunai and shuriken, and was off. When he got to the Ninja Academy, he found his clockwatch was wrong. It was 30 minutes off."Dangit!" he muttered under his breath. He got the courage to walk up to his classroom, and get yelled at by Nara-Sensei. He tried to ignore it, but he was so loud and annoying. Very,annoying. Don`t get me wrong, he had a respect for Nara-Sensei. But most everyone agreed that he was annoying. He had to make up for his tardieness by throwing 10 kunai straight at the heart of the practice doll.

As Tenchi reached the academy, he saw that many others had exited the class Iruka was teaching.
"Well, I guess i'm right on time again." thought Tenchi. As Tenchi looked in the class, he saw Iruka filing papers once again. Tenchi felt an odd feeling of deja vu.
"Yo Iruka-sensei, I'm here for my lessons." Tenchi said. As Tenchi said this, he walked up to Iruka and henged into the Hokage.
"Teach Tenchi now or you'll be fired Iruka" a henged Tenchi playfully threatened. Iruka laughed at the perfect henge Tenchi displayed.
"Ok enough. Lets get to work." Iruka stated. "What you will learn is Bunshin no Jutsu. Also known as Replication Technique. What it does is create an illusion of yourself to either distract an enemy or confuse him. This technique is used in different strategies and situations depending on when and where it is used. To get started, I want you to focus on making a mental image of yourself and surround yourself with chakra. Do it now. We'll do things one step at a time."
"Hai Iruka-sensei" Tenchi replied. With this Tenchi placed his hands in a ram seal and closed his eyes. He mentally made an image of himself and covered himself with his chakra."

Tenchi continued in this state for a few minutes until he heard Iruka's voice again.
"Ok, now that you have your chakra covering you, command it or rather push your chakra away from you while keeping the image in your mind. When i count to 3 I want you to release and shout the technique. Got that?" Iruka asked.
Tenchi merely nodded due to the concentration he was in. In Tenchi's mind, he was having difficulty only keeping his image in his mind. He kept getting distracted on other things such as what position he wanted his mental image to be or what he would have for dinner. Sweat ran down Tenchi's forehead as he continued to battle with his mental foe.
"1....2.....3!!!" Iruka counted off.
As Tenchi head 3 he shouted, "BUNSHIN NO JUTSU!" A puff of smoke erupted and out of the smoke, a transparent version of Tenchi stood. It was perfect in all sense but it was transparent.
"Good job Tenchi, you accomplished this much in one try. But this time, try harder and keep a more solid check on your chakra. Mind you, releasing more would be harder to control but gauge on how much you need from last try's attempt. I'm sure you'll get it this turn." Iruka encouraged.
"Hai Iruka-sensei. I'll try and concentrate harder. Ne, Iruka-sensei, how about treating me to ramen if I get it this turn?" asked Tenchi. Without waiting for a reply he got into the same stance as he did before and made a ram seal. Iruka was getting amazed by this kid every second. This boy was indeed the making of a prodigy and learning skills at this rapid rate was proof.
"BUNSHIN NO JUTSU" shouted Tenchi. And sure enough, three perfect replicas stood alongside the real Tenchi. Iruka was amazed that Tenchi could learn it after 2 tries but, it wasnt impossible.
"Congrats Tenchi. Say, want to elarn anything more? I'm bored and teaching you is actually fun." offered Iruka
"Sure thing sensei." replied Tenchi. Tenchi was jumping in glee and joy as he was about to learn more techniques the same day. He thought he would have to wait a few more days atleast to learn another.
"What's next on the list Iruka-sensei?" asked Tenchi.
"How about, The Art of Substitution?" asked Iruka.

"So, Kitsuna Tenchi, Master of the Henge and Bunshin no Jutsu, are you ready for Kawarimi no Jutsu?" taunted Iruka. Iruka was started to take a liking to this boy. Somehow it reminded him of someone, though he can place his finger on it.
"Of course I am. I AM after all the henge and bunshin master right?" Tenchi played along. Tenchi started a feeling something towards Iruka. No one ever treated him the way Iruka was treating him. Tenchi finally found that he was one step closer to achieving his goal, and that was protecting his loved ones. Also, grant happiness to them even at the cost of his own.
"Ok, first, look for an object here and concentrate on it." Iruka said. Tenchi looked around and spotted several chairs and tables. But decided to go on something smaller for the first try. He soon spotted a small stool in the corner and gave a nod to Iruka.
"Ok, now gather your chakra around you and transfer some to the object. Make sure you have your chakra arond yourself and the object so you two are connected by chakra. Then, once you have this down, concentrate on switching places with the object by transfereing you and the object through the chakra link you two have." Iruka taught.
Tenchi was listening to Iruka's teachings intently and while listening, he also did it. It took him a while to actually control his chakra covering him and the stool but got it down soon enough. He tried to make a chakra link but it kept on getting severed due to the fact that he was losing control over either chakra because of lack of control. But none-the-less, he persevered.
"I'm ready now Iruka-sensei." said Tenchi. Feeling confident, he shouted out the technique. "KAWARIMI NO JUTSU!"
after a second, Iruka sighed. Infront of him was Tenchi on the floor with the stool. He was in the middle of the distance convering the stool's original position and Tenchi's original position.
"eheh. Sorry. Lost concentration." Tenchi said while rubbing the back of his head.

Iruka sighed once more and said, "Get up, replace the stool and try again. This time concetrate harder." Iruka moved back to his table and leaned on it with his arms crossed infront of his chest, watching Tenchi.
Tenchi got up and picked up the stool. He walked back to the corner of the class and placed the stool back in its original position. After doing so, Tenchi went back to infront of Iruka. He got back into his stance and started the steps all over. This time he concentrated harder. A few seconds later, he shouted "KAWARIMI NO JUTSU" and instantly switched places with the stool.
Iruka stood dumbfounded. "This kid, getting everything in his second try. What an uncanny ability to learn techniques. All he needs is the theory and a practice run. Then from there he adapts quickly and covers up his mistakes. This boy really is a prodigy. But wait, no jumping to conclusions yet. Prodigies learn all abilities quickly, these are just basics." thought Iruka.
Tenchi on the other hand wasnt contented. He aimed for the chair and concentrated. "KAWARIMI NO JUTSU!" and again, he instantly switched places. One final try and he would be contented. He smiled an evil grin and started running towards the wall. Iruka on the other hand was confused as to why Tenchi would run towards the wall. But he suddenly realized the look on his face.
"KAWARIMI NO JUTSU!" Tenchi shouted and instantly he and Iruka switched places. The next second later, he was on the ground rubbing his head. You may have mastered kawarimi Tenchi but to think that you would try to pull off a stunt like that? you've got guts kid." Iruka complimented.
"But, how?" Tenchi asked, still rubbing his head dumbfounded.
"Double kawarimi" Iruka said. its not that difficult. hehe. anyway, I have to go. If you want to learn some more, wait till tomorrow. I have something i need to do right now. Well, see you tomorrow Tenchi."
"Arigatou Iruka-sensei. Ja ne" Tenchi replied and jumped out of the window.

"hm...wait a minute...." thought Iruka. He immedietly ran towards the window and scanned for Tenchi. He saw Tenchi substituting with things all around. "heh, already practicing the jutsu speed." thought Iruka.
"TENCHI! COME HERE!!" shouted Iruka. Tenchi looked around and saw Iruka as he heard his name being yelled out. He substituted with the rock closest to the window.
"You yelled?" Tenchi asked.
"On second thought, stay here till you master double switching. I just realized I have an hour till the meeting with ho......nevermind." Iruka said.
Tenchi jumped into the room through the same window he came out from and walked towards the far wall of the room. Once he reached the wall, he immedietly ran towards the wall and subsituted for Iruka. Once again he banged into the wall.
"hmm...I wonder if it will work since he's getting jittery about immediete substituting." though Tenchi.
Tenchi ran towards the wall again but this time targeted a chair instead of Iruka. Iruka out of previous instinct substituted with the chair instead and ended up hitting the wall. Iruka stood up smiling.
"Nice Tenchi, very nice. you found a loophole but you still havent mastered double substituting. Try again." said Iruka.
Tenchi, this time, ran towards the wall with his eyes closed in concentration. As he was about to run into the wall he substituted for Iruka. This time he felt as if things were going slower. He felt the change between him and Iruka and this time he switched back. Iruka ended up hitting the wall with a smile on his face.
"Very well done" Iruka said while rubbing his head. "You may go now, this will probably help you in the jutsu speed." Iruka looks at the wall clock and sees he was 30mins late. Without a word he poofed away leaving Tenchi alone.
"I finally did it....." Tenchi collapsed on the class floor out of chakra exhaustion.

After Waya did the entire kunai thing, he sat down. This class they were learning how to perform jutsu right away, for in battles. Nara-sensei showed us how to do it. That looks easy. thought Waya. He was first called on because of his tardieness. He tried to perform a substitution jutsu in 10 seconds, while Nara was (safely) throwing kunai at him. He couldn`t manage it. 15 seconds, 10 seconds, what`s the difference? he thought. Nara-sensei said every second counts in battle. Of course, no one else succeded, either. These kids are so weak...they`ll probably have to go another year... and hear I was, thinking they`d pass this year... I graduated at 12, and became a chuunin the same age... thought Nara. This is deppresing...

As Tenchi walks home from a rough day of learning new jutsus, he came across the lake. He saw someone training on it. Tenchi out of curiosity walked closer and saw that the shinobi was trying to walk on water but failing.
"So....it IS possible" thought Tenchi. Excited about learning to walk on water, while completely forgetting about asking someone to teach him, he looked for a water source other than the lake infront of him. After a while of searching, he finally saw a river just a little away from the village. He was about to step when a thought occured in his head.
"Wait a minute. How am i supposed to do this. I know it has something to do with chakra. Chakra is the essense of living and is used in every thing a shinobi does. So how do i incorporate it to water walking." Tenchi thought out loud to himself.

"hmm...lets see if this works." Tenchi thought out loud again.
Tenchi took a step towards the water and tried to stay stable. The moment he stabilized he was sucked in. All wet, he climbed out and sat down to think again.
"Ok, so sending chakra towards the feet is the right thing. But why am i getting sucked in?" thought Tenchi outloud once again.
Tenchi stayed there for hours pondering on the things that could work. He knew he was right about sending chakra towards the feet but he couldnt figure out why he was getting sucked in.
"HOSNAP!" Tenchi yelled. "What if...."
Tenchi stood up and took a step on the water adn placed the other foot on to it. He stayed there for a second before shooting up like a fountain and landing on his back on the bank.
"YES!! I got it!" Tenchi shouted. He was so happy he jumped into the river and focused his chakra towards his feet, releasing chakra in huge amounts. The moment his feet touched the water he shot up towards the air. As he was flying through the air he had a smile on his face. A smile of satisaction and accomplishment.

"oh crap....how do I get down" Tenchi sweat. Thinking quick he scanned the forest for something to help him think. He saw rocks on the ground and immedietly thought of something.
"Kawarimi no Jutsu" thought Tenchi and the moment he thought that, he switched places with the rock. As he looked up he saw the rock falling down fast.
"That was close" sighed Tenchi. Now taking on a more composed state, he walked towards the river and started to channel chakra. He took his first step and slowly adjusted the release of chakra. He slowly stabilized and after that, took his second step. He started wobbling a bit but soon was standing on the water straight.
"Ok, I got the standing up part down. Now to to start moving around." Tenchi tried to walk on water but immedietely fell in. He sawm out and climbed on to the bank again. He faced the river and started again. He was determined to get water walking down before the day was through. He was slowly getting tired due to the constant release of chakra. But he was making good progress.

Tenchi once more got on top of the water. He stood on the water faster than he did before. Now was the tricky part. Moving. He started walking slowly. He was wobbling and unstable but he was walking very well. He started to walk faster and faster. And soon, was running around on the river.
"YES!!! I'VE DONE IT!!" shouted Tenchi, but as he did so, he lost concentration and fell in.
"GAH!" spluttered Tenchi. "Now I have to get it down it insticnt and not concentration" thought Tenchi.
With this new goal, he got out of the water and started running around on water while slowly losing concentration. He fell in each time he lost even a bit of concentration but he never gave up. He always got up and tried again.
"I'm not giving up" thought Tenchi, all drenched and exhausted.
Tenchi was now closer to his goal. He was walking around with half the concentration he started with and slowly but surely making progress.

In a couple of hours, Tenchi was running, jumping, skidding and what not on the river. His sweat was mixed with the water as he did fall in countless number of times. He was breathing hard but he stayed determined and his determination never wavered for a bit. He was soon doing water walking out of thought and didnt have to concentrate for it anymore. But this was not good enough for Tenchi. He wanted to do it out of insticnt and wanted nothing less.
He was running laps around the river, and not only that, but was hopping, jumping skipping and all kinds of movements with the feet. He had a look of determination and this never look never left his face.
Soon, Tenchi was water walking with ease and without any trouble at all. It was as though it was a natural thing for him to walk on water. Tenchi was very happy with himself. He had accomplished something all on his own. Not only did he do this on his own, but he also felt that the control he had over his chakra was much better than before when he started learning the technique. He felt really happy with himself and knew that he was off to a great start.
But, he knew he still hasnt mastered it. For a master will be able to not only walk on water, but also stand on his hands, lay on it and everything. So he knew he was far from mastering the jutsu. He mastered the feet part, but the other aspects, he hasnt and this only made him strive more to achive this.

Tenchi, with a look of detemination, falls back on his back and releases the same amount of chakra he does on his feet, but it was not enough. He sinks down and he slowly come to knowledge that since the span of area on his abck is bigger than his feet, he has to exert less chakra than his feet, but still has to figure out how much he as to do. This is a simple task and he gets it immedietely.
Next he moves on to his hands. He jumps up and lands on his hands. Seeing as his hands and feet are more or less the same size, he got this part of water stabalizing quickly. He started doing his laps on his hands. Tenchi is os exhausted, he can barely keep conciousness. The only reason he still is, is because his determination won't let him quit.
After a few laps, he gets on his elbow. This is a bit harder as the elbows are a small space and he has to exert more chakra to keep him from sinking. This is the same with his knees.
Finally, the last part of his body he tries to balance on water is his head. He stood on the water and slowlybent his knees. He jumped up and channeled the last few of his chakra to his head. He slowly dipped in the water but he released some more and he slowly stablized. He started hopping around on his head and finally, with the last remaining of his chakra, blew out of the river and landed on the back. Upon landing, he went to an unconcious state and drifted into a dreamless sleep. Slowly, but surely, a smile of hard work and achievement made its way to his lips.
