I have finally come to the realization that I don't handle death well... I was watching a show while eating dinner with my family, and it was about caring for the elderly. They interviewed this one elderly couple, and after the interview announced that two weeks later the old man died. And I just burst into tears and ran out of the room sobbing. And over something as simple as that. And it's not the first time... When that kid who went to my school killed himself a couple weeks ago, I didn't handle that well either, and I had never met the guy. I started sobbing in the middle of class and was semi hysterical the rest of the day, randomly tearing up and zoning out. I've known for a long time now that I actually fear death, but just recently I've been going into hysterics when ever I hear of some one dying. Its very startling...

Ryu, lemme tell you something.
Death happens.
Accept it.
This is coming from someone with experience in the matter.
about 6 years ago, i was in the boyscouts. and i had this best friend.
we were the best of friends, the BEST.
One day, i was watching the news. then i heard a name come up.
It was my friend's.
It turned out, that he had been kidnapped.
a week later, he was found half dead in a backyard pool.
He had been raped, and drowned. He was barely alive when they found him.
They kept him on a respirator for about two days, then he died.
i never got to say goodbye.
and that was it.
It happened.
Ryu, dont fear death.
mourn the dead, maybe.
but understand, it happens.
Ive had to deal with it and keep up yearly offerings.

Ouch....
yeah; death does happen
but there's nothing wrong with fearing death
most people do
it's natural to not want to die
or see someone else die
so don't feel bad.
