The Magical NPCman Katherine gave him an odd look. "Grant more your type, Lannen?" "Whaht? Noh, f'couhrse nahwt. Ahm a ladiehs mahn, Tate, buht ahm stihl lookihn fehr 'ihm." Arch glanced down, seeing Aaron smiling at the people. "Huh." Arch said, standing on his tippy-toes, looking behind Tate. "Ihs thaht Clair? Lohks laihke sheh spillehd somethihn ahl dahwn 'ehrsehlf, ahn sheh seehms tah beh... ihs she craihihn?"

The Magical NPCman Laurel Talbot The Magical NPCman Laurel Talbot The Magical NPCman Laurel Talbot Standing near the buffet is a strawberry blonde in a green evening gown. She looks to be in her mid-20's. She's been nursing glass of punch and turning down dances all evening. Katherine Tate made her way to the punch bowl and smiled at the strawberry blond. "are you waiting for something specific? You seem quite focused." "I have a friend here somewhere, but I haven't spotted him yet." She glanced at the other woman. "Have you seen our hostess anywhere? I was hoping to get her autograph. It's not every day I get a chance to meet a star like Clair Reubens." Katherine hid the look of distate on her face behind a glass of champagne. "Clair's probably upstairs in her room, treating one of the more influential guests I'm sure. A usual scenario for her parties. Mayhaps she's even with your friend," Katherine shrugged. "Maybe," Laurel responded, seeming unconcerned. "I'm Laurel, by the way." She smiled at the older woman. Katherine smiled, "Laurel, I'm Katherine Tate. It's a pleasure to meet you." She gave her sweet girl smile, brushing back a strand of brown hair, and tilting her chin a quarter of an inch to the left. The chin tilt she had stolen from Ruby earlier in the business, and had used it enough to make it her signiature, something that had infuriated Clair. "The pleasure is mine," Laurel replied, giving no sign of recognizing the name. "How do you know Miss Reubens?"

Arch took the moment to snatch up Aaron, placing a hand over his mouth, and quickly duck away from Tate, hiding in the crowd.
"May'ahps ahl ahve tah beh thahnkihn yeh, kihd." Arch whispered to Aaron as he looked for possible escape routes to the upstairs.

The Magical NPCman Creedy grinned, finally someone able to bend the rules, and with a fancy trick like that. "You my fellow, are damn good. Where'd you study? France? " He couldn't believe something as complex as this could be self taught, perhaps an apprenticeship, or one of the more selective institutions of study. ((Reminds me of the illusionist, damn good movie, by the way....in case any of you out there have yet to see it.)) The figure smiles and replies with a slight grin. would you belive the north libri cella? One of the more simple techniques that expounds into more complicated permutations. Though there are fewer places to learn ssuch things properly, I myself only dabble in it. Mostly to pass the time, and also some... practical applications. Like this for instance, if you need some change to make a call. Lifting an arm the figure flicks a wrist behind an ear and reveals a worn quarter betweenthe thumb and two fingers, the date it was stamped rubbed off from use.

He snuck around people, avoiding anyone who might question him holding a child, and quickly dashed up the stairs, looking for Aaron's room.
