Honestly.. I've never hated any character in this game.
This is the only RPG I've played where there wasn't one character that I despised.
Although Vincent was a tad bit useless because of his limits, not being able to control them, although his character was real awesome.

[.Psycho.Doughboy.] The chances of hitting the instant death are slim to none, you have more of a chance of getting a dud and killing yourself. As for getting the materia, it's reeve the whole time, and another IDENTICAL one pops up 5 minutes later, at the WORST possible time, so it's hardly a selfless sacrifice, and hardly makes up for screwing you over like that. As for the info, whoop-de-hell. Cait sith sucks. The end. Ive had it happen on a number of well-timed occasions. Quite common when I use his limit, surprisingly enough. And in the end, him backstabbing the party didnt effect anything. The team was still able to get inside and attain the Black Materia. And the first cat and mogs sacrifice was excellent for that purpose while still retaining the character for use afterwards. And without the info, Cloud & Co. fail automatically. Theres no knowing what Hojo or Shinra is doing, theres no warning that the WEAPONs are attacking, theres no busting Tifa out of her gas chamber. Pretty much, without Cait Sith/Reeve, the story falls apart.

I'm not saying he's not useful storyline wise, just a d**k, whom I hate. Also, just because you're good at slot machines doesn't mean everyone else is, the slim chance of killing your enemies instantly just doesn't even out the downside chance of killing yourself. His betrayal, although it affects nothing in the end, pisses me off. The act of betrayal more or less earns my emnity no matter what you do. His sacrifice really means nothing since another one appears 5 minutes later, ruining a serious moment in the story, and disappointing me just when I thought I was getting rid of him, instead, they kill of Aerith, the only character who starts off more or less made to be a mage. Now you want to talk about useless things in the story, THERE'S A useless thing to happen. It helps in no way at all, you COULD say motivation, but they were going to kill Sephiroth anyway, all it served to do, objectively, was make cloud emo, and make anyone who hadn't played the game before almost cry. I don't know why I'm even arguing my point right now, your reasons don't make me hate him any less. What's more, Cait Sith isn't even my most hated person. It's Hojo, whom anyone will agree with me sucks a**, I'm sure. I really doubt anyone could find any redeeming qualities in that guy.

If you rapidly tap the Square button while theyre going, they slow down, allowing you to pick and choose what you get. Can use the same thing for better Battle Points in the Battle Square in the Gold Saucer. And Im in concurrance, Hojo is far more hated. Yet I still dont see where all the hatred for Cait Sith comes from. Its pointless to hate a good guy, IMO.

The Main Characters are the ones most involved in the story. Examples are Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aeris, Red XIII, Sephiroth, Cait Sith, Cid, Yuffie, and Vincent. Also, he made up for the betrayal shortly after and near the end of the game with his supplying of information from within Shinra. And I agree that he lost a little bit of himself without the Mog in AC, but his stage in DoC was ill. Gotta admit to that.

Elite_Jackel I didnt like Yuffie just for the fact that i always thought she was going around with cloud to get the materia and if im not mistaken she steals them from you For real though, Cait Sith may "sacrifice" himself to make up for betraying you, but Yuffie, she's just like "yoink, sotle your materia, oh s**t you caught me, okay, here, WHOOP! Sorry got you again, oh no, I need help, becauce I'm a ditz! Okay, thanks for saving me, here's your materia." The end.

I hate Cait Sith. He f-ing made me chase him all the way around Golden Saucer just to let me find out he was a spy. I wanted to kill him.
Also, who COULDN'T like Sephiroth, Kadaj, Loz, and Azu (however you spell his name)? They are awsome...
Oh...and Yuffie cause she stole my damn potions and gil when I first met her...then I beat her a** and corrected a few things on the questions and she gave me my gil back...well...half of it.

I'll admit that the whole chasing yuffie thing was a bit aggrevating to say the least, but Cait Sith was the only person that i reframed from using in my party for most of the game. Reasons being that not only did he NOT look cool, it made my party look like a joke whenever fighting one of the weapons or something. Nontheless he did have his moments in which i gave a small 'chuckle', so although i dont exactly 'like' cait sith, he is my least fav. character since i love just about everyone in FF7 because its pure awesomness
