Laio smiled widely. "I was just going to suggest that! But hares are a bit..small.. but still food, I guess." Suddenly she realised Ciyari had heard something else. "We can't eat birds," she whispered loudly. "But maybe they've found something. You can stalk, that a good idea, an' I'll run fast." She slunk forward a little more, her reddish fur still painfully visible amongst the yellowy-green grass.

Mizaku pounced at another vulture, but it flapped it's large wings and flung him off. It was like they were robots, and were ordered to finsih this kill before anyone else could get it. Mizaku let out a loud shrieking roar, hopefully to scare them off. A few of them flinched, but the didn't seem to mind. "Pesky little termites!!" the leopard hissed, "Get! Off! My! Kill!!!" Mizaku didn't want to give up, but he was starting to doubt they'd ever move. His ears flattened and his tackled another large bird.

"Sounds good!" Ciyari says back, now whispering...and immediately goes into what she calls 'stalking mode,' although it's a little less than elegant and a little better than charging in full throttle like she's done before. She hastily creeps through the underbrush, giving a muffled curse as her fur gets tangled in some nettles. Mm. She can smell it now. Definately food ahead. She starts to salivate.
Oh, blast Laio, anyways. She's hungry. She breaks into an all-out run, bursting out of the brush - right towards Mizaku. Oh, no...she can't stop! She tries skidding to a halt, but it backfires, and she rolls speedily right towards him.

Mizaku pulled his paw back in shock, sitting where he had been thrown off another vulture. He cringed his eyes and braced for impact. After being pushed backwards and rolling over, he shook his head and sat up again. "...Ciyari?" he said slowly with a half smile, "...Ciyari! ...um...sorry about the other day...I didn't mean it..." Mizaku looked down at the ground, a little ashamed. He brightened up again and pointed his nose towards the eland. "Look! I caught that eland! Hodari helped to and we finaly did it! But now those stupids birds won't get off..." the leopard growled slightly as he stared at them, "Can some of that eland meat make up for yesterday?" Mizaku's tail waved low to the ground as he awaited her answer.

Laio blinked as Ciyari dashed past her, gave a protesting mew and bounded after her friend. As the trees gave way to a clearing, she slowed down by loping around the edge, wincing as Ciyari nearly collided with another. The tree-cat! The one that was out to get her! And by the looks of it, he'd made a kill.... Despite the vultures and the sickly smell of old meat, her stomach protested louder than before, and she hung back at the edge of the clearing, dancing nervously from paw to paw, as the others conversed.

Crap, this is the third time within two days that she's done that. Ciyari pulls herself up wearily from the dust, glaring meaningfully at the dirt. She doesn't want to be that closely aquainted with it. She shakes herself, still looking quite dazed as she gazes at Mizaku. She stares blankly at him for a moment, her head still ringing and his words taking awhile to penetrate. "Oh." That's not really appropriate, so she gathers herself together again. "Oh, that's okay. You caught this, you an'...who?" She looks quite cheerful now, interest spreading over her features. "That'd be great...s'long as Laio can have some, too," She says, looking over to the cheetah cub. "It's really big," She adds, glancing happily at the eland. "You guys must've had to be really tough to take it down." Hey, a little extra flattery certainly can't hurt.

Mizaku chuckled lightly and bowed his head before glancing at the cheetah. His ears twitched a few times as he looked at her. "Well, it took a long time. Everyone was yelling at me for attacking this eland...but...she's a preybeast! Right? The black cub even attacked me while I was trying to bring the eland down," he continued, "Then Hodari helped joined in to stop the fighting, and we finaly did it! Now...we just need to scare these stupid birds away..." Mizaku snarled at the vultures and jumped at one again with extened claws. It snapped at him a few times and then went back to eating. The leopard hissed and swiped at another.

Laio grinned cautiously. Scaring birds she could do! "I'll help," she offered eagerly, smiling at the prospect of some food, even if it was only nearly fit for hyenas. Dashing incredibly fast toward the eland carcass, she nearly tackled the large vulture that was perched on its head, yowling loudly. Roaring was something she just couldn't do. As that one fluttered off offendedly, she spared a glance sideways to see if the others where helping, and another glance to see if there was a bite she could snag anywhere.

"True, true. I wouldn't think why they would yell at you for it, it was fair game." Ciyari cannot see a preybeast as being a 'he' or a 'she' - it's an 'it,' and 'it' is good food. "Black cub?" She querries, looking rather put-out. All these new felines on her territory! She'd best either get to know them and have them realize her position as princess of the so-called 'Riverstar Pride,' or else push them out of her territory. But if they stay, she'll have to think up a good excuse why her 'pride' isn't anywhere to be found.
"We can help with the birds!" She chirps, brightly, then goes at them with a will, snapping at feet and necks as she goes, a prompt little whirlwind of silver with the idea of a decent meal in front of her.

Mizaku latched on to a vultures neck, he slammed it's head on the ground and it gagged as it pulled free. He bit at it again, and finally being fed up with the leopard it flew angrily. Mizaku smirked, and then dashed for another one. It bit him on the paw, and Mizaku backed away for a moment. He hissed and then clawed at the vulture's face. "Get out of here ya' worthless maggots!" the leopard taunted, biting at it again. The large bird turned to face Mizaku, he jumped forwards and made the tree-cat bounce backwards. The vulture huffed and then began eating again.

((*zooms in*))
::Hodari's eyes fluttered open slowly, the greyish cub groaning as he rolled onto his back, legs kicking at the ground. He had gone and fallen asleep in a small bush, hidden from the rest of the group, inwhich he had been with the other day.:: ::The lion cub lay there quietly, red eyes gazing up at nothing, an exsausted look upon the young cubs face.. Why did his stomach suddenly hurt?:: ::He sat up slowly, stretching out his limbs, hind legs first the front legs. A loud yawn fell from his lips as he staggered out of his bush, glancing at the trees.. Which...tree had Mizaku been in? He.. oh great! He was back at square one! Completely lost.. all the trees looked the same to him!::

As another bird went grudgingly fluttering, Laio took the chance to bury her head in the depleted side of the eland, managing almost a full mouthful before she had to dart out of the way of the ugly birds. Almost ecstatic as she swallowed, she looked with the first glimmerings of respect to the tree-cat.

Liquid form poured over a low-hanging branch, a young leopard lay, watching the jungle around himself, lush foliage catching his attention for a moment, before being surpassed by a fat caterpillar inching along a leaf. Kitambi's eager mind was today idling in his home, rather than soaring through the skies in searching of adventure, as he usually was. He was daydreaming of his latest plot, to capture a forbidden fortress, and find a kidnapped princess, incurring great rewards. The cub was, in short, a dreamer.

Ciyari comes back from her gallant run scratched and sore, but triumphant. She looks a sight - one of her ears is nicked, and there's a bit of a wound across her shoulder, although it looks quite shallow. But she looks all the better for fighting...her eyes are bright and they gleam.
Knowing that the birds won't desert the kill for long - several of them still linger around the body - the silver cub leans in for her share, tearing ravenously at the meat and ignoring everything else, growling if anything - bird, cat, or insect - comes too close to her. Her muzzle quickly becomes stained red, but she doesn't seem to care. It's food.
