Best is Vinushka by far. The worst is filth. I hate that little intro it always makes me think of Kyo on acid bouncing around on a ball on top of a skyscraper.

I have found my self on a huge Vinushka kick lately.
My least favorite songs in either Deity, Bugaboo, and pretty much everything on Missa except garden. (the interlude in garden makes me feel euphoric at times. lol)

This is a real toughie, so many songs to choose from.. Well, over the years, from Gauze all the way up to UROBOROS, DIR EN GREY almost every song they've done has been something amazing and special.
But I have to say, I would narrow it down between a song from the album MACABRE, to UROBOROS, Macabre is my favourite and the best(in my opinion) nostalgic album from DIR EN GREY UROBOROS.. Is just, well. What can I say? It's simply a masterpiece, and IS the definative DIR EN GREY album that defines them best, as Kaoru said.
Macabre has amazing songs, my favourites include Deity, which is in my opinion the best 'opener', I especially loved it when they played it at Budokan, as it fitted them more now then ever. On top of that there is Myaku, it's just twisted yet with a chorus so memorable, which became a trend in Dir en greys older songs. [KR]Cube, which is simply amazing. Audrey, a song which puts me in such a happy place and is very upbeat and catchy. Zakuro, possibly their most heart breaking ballad. Taiyou no ao, which holds a dear place in my heart as it has so much meaning behind it. But I have to say.. Macabre(the song), is by far, the best song of their past, the best song from that album, and one of their best songs ever. It's not just a ballad, it's a work of art. It has many sides, it shifts, it twists, it turns, and has many characteristics.
UROBOROS has many songs which are very unique in contrast to previous DIR EN GREY albums, especially Marrow Of A Bone, which had been their most recent album before UROBOROS. Vinushka, DIR EN GREY's most powerful song, Red Soil, Doukoku To Sarinu, Glass Skin, my favourite Diru Ballad, Stuck Man, which literally makes you just want to jump, and Reiketsu Nariseba. Are my favourites. But I have to say.. VINUSHKA, takes the cake. It just screams passion, you can feel Kyo's sorrow, anger, and hatred just from listening to his voice.. Which is difficult to achieve on a recording. The song reaches both vocal and lyrical hights, but on the other side of the spectrum also hosts growls, slurs, shreiks, and screams. It's just amazing.
So, Vinushka or Macabre? Well. It's such a hard desicion. As it's two sides of DIR EN GREY which are completely different, yet in some ways, are exact. Both are them are my favourite.. However, overall, if I listened to them one after another, I would have to say MACABRE, is my favourite. It's just so diverse and it sticks with to you, also I feeel it has more character then Vinushka. For those reasons, it's my favourite.
Thankyou smile
