"Everyone, take cover in case of friendly fire. Jackson, take the right side, opposite of me. Do not fire until I give the order to do so. Hyobi, open that door!" said Michael putting his weapon against his shoulder. The MA6B was a reassurance that he could defend himself, while he continued to stair down it's sight at the doors. The LTC was on one knee, on the left side of the door while Private Jackson was on the right. With both rifles aimed, they waited for Hyobi.

Captain Twombley stepped aside, letting the LTC take charge. Both the LTC and Private Jackson were poised before the doors, with Sergeant Hyobi at the electronic paneling of the doors, ready to connect the wires to open the door. Captain Twombley looked gravely upon the dead Marine, only killed a couple hours ago. Turning back to the rest of his troops, Captain Twombley, having his rifle slung over his shoudler, swung his arms downward into and inverted 'V.' This was a visible order to his troops telling them split up; half of them broke off against the wall to the LTC's left, and the other half to Private Jackson's right.

If Hell was already waiting for them on the other side of these doors, he didn't want the entire unit caught in the fire, but they were to follow after the LTC's lead if he made the decision to storm the room.

The LTC gave the order to Sergeant Hyobi, the moment of truth. Would the Marines be awaiting them on the otherside, or had they already met their fate? Only this split moment of realization and reaction would determine this when the doors slid open.

OoC: I suppose I will take the liberty of choosing the marines' fate? I warn thee! I am sappy!

"YESSIR!"
Hyobi had his BR55 right at his side and was ready to grab it the instant the doors opened. He grabbed the wires and pressed them together and a spark started and doors slid open. Hyobi instantly grabbed his Battle Rifle and brought it up, only to be pointing at a helmet-less marine, whose weapon was also drawn. Hyobi looked around the war torn room and saw mixtures of purple and red blood splatters all over the wall, he was relieved, nevertheless. Hyobi stood up and lowered his weapon. "See! I told you guys there was nothing to worry about!"

Captain Twombley, having held his breath for the moment that the doors had slid open, let out his breath. Peering into the bloodied room from behind the LTC, Twobley stepped foward and passed the LTC and Private Jackson, approaching the Marine. At the moment, the Captain was unable to see anyone else in the room. Captain Twombley kept his weapon against his shoulder, though at ready-low. Standing in the doorway's archway, the Captain asked the Marine, "Corporal, where are your comrades?"

The corporal looked at Captain Twombley. "Right here, sir." He whistled and about 20 marines were left, all of which were either coming out from the sides of the corporal or from behind boxes, there was even a sniper. They all saluted to Twombley.
Hyobi was surprised at the numbers, he based that there wasnt very many left due to the blood paint on the walls. He was relieved. They now had a chance to take back the base.

Michael stood and and walked inside to catch a look at the marines. He acknowledged each and every one with a quick gaze, and then turned to the Captain. "It seems we have what we need" he said, sliding his helmet off for a second. The slightly longer than regulation hair came down over one eye, the scarred one. He stood next to his former CO, holding his helmet under one arm. The LTC could not afford to let himself smile, but his eyes betrayed him.

Captain Twombley gave them all a salute in return, thankful the entire platoon hadn't been wiped out. They had suffered seemingly heavy casualties though to his dismay. All the same, they had held out long enough for relief. Turning his head to look over at the LTC who had removed his helmet, noting the scarred eye of his old Sergeant. Captain Twombley nodded and replied, "Yes sir."
Speaking once again the Corporal he said, "I'm assuming your in charge of your outfit Corporal? To be brief with all of you...Your being reassigned to this unit for the time being. I apologize, and would give you some time to recover, but time is short. Your new objective will be to seize and secure the central power station of this base. If we lose the power station, we lose this base...LTC do you have anything to add?" Twombley finished, turning his head once again to the LTC.

Michael didn't need any time to think about what to say, "we're going in hard and heavy, men. Covenant have completely infiltrated us down to the main blast doors. The central core is our primary, secondary, and tertiary objective as of now; there will be no side tracking. If we meet any survivors along the way, decide upon the one person to brief them because we need to stay quiet. This mission is of grave importance to the human race, and any incompetence will be dealt with severely. I'm not one to shoot you, but keeping you at the front when we blow those doors would be just fine. Now!" Michael paused for a moment, to look around at the faces of Marines and a few ODSTs, "we do not have a unlimited amount of ammunition, so only shoot sparingly. If you see a grunt aim for the methane tank, that will put them down for good." He inhaled the musky air that had been traveling through the vents. The helmet under his arm turned visibly as his grip tightened on it, and MA6B in his right hand hung limply. "My knowledge is that we are the last of the Marines, so let's give those bastards hell for our brothers and sisters. Fall in and move out!" he cried, slipping the helmet onto his head. Throughout the whole speech he hadn't shown any emotion, but his eyes smiled and grimaced. The LTC grasped the MA6B in his hands as he began to walk away, out of the room.

Captain Twombley had taken a few steps aside while the LTC spoke. His old comrade was quick and to the point, but still, motivation backed his words as they resonated in the blood spattered and charred room. It was one of those listening experiences that really hit you hard, something you never forget.

The Captain shifted his weight, lowering his head for a quick moment. Raising it once again, as the LTC finished his motivational 'talk,' Twombley approached him as he replaced his helmet over his head, and replied, "Well said...Sir."

Michael nodded and switched on TEAMCOM, the only thanks he could give to Mathias at the moment; he had a reactor to secure. "All units are to switch to TEAMCOM, and then maintain radio silence until ordered otherwise" he said through the helmet's built-in communicator. The LTC wasn't used to being called Sir, especially by his comrade and former CO, and he realized neither was the Captain. Shutting off the communicator in his helmet, Michael spoke to the AI, "I saw that look you gave me, Maria. What's wrong?" "Sir, someone's requesting back up in the central power core." "What? Who?" "Sir, it's Spartan-019."

The small group of soldiers, a small bit of the dwindling remnant of UNSC ground forces, gathered up what little supplies they had left, in preparation to take back control of central power station. A spot of critical strategic importance to UNSC Command.

The Captain had left the LTC, whom continued to walk away from the room, and went back to make sure everyone was good to go. Then he quickly got them formed up and rolling on out. Ammunition had been distributed amongst everyone evenly. The lone sniper on the other hand, had all the ammo he could carry, which wasn't much considering the large size and weight of each individual round of sniper ammunition. They had no available rockets if they had to take on any type of heavily armored vehicles, but they did have a reasonable amount of explosives and grenades that they could improvise.

The group, now being led by the Captain himself, jogged in a staggered formation to catch up to the LTC. Twombley was unaware of the news the LTC had just received of SPARTAN-019's presence at the central power core. This would completely change everything...

Randall checked that that everything was in place as he ran. He shoved a fresh magazine into this Battle Rifle, cocked it, then slung it over his back, instead prefering the balance of the pistol in his hand. With everything ready should he need it, he turned his attention back to his surroundings and steeled himself for the fight to come.

Kyle sprinted foreward feeling wind drifts blowing into his face. He jumped and then hit the ground and stopped dead in his tracks. He scanned the area with his MA5B. He watched as marines and aliens screamed, yelled, cheered, cried, and fought valiantly. He raised his rifle and a grunt's head, "Hey there ******** face. You ever have a nose job?" He pulled the trigger and the body flew back a few feet. He ran through crowds dust and an array of noises over to the side of the canyon. He grabbed onto a steel post near the entrance of a fortified trench. He gripped it tightly and then pushed off the ground. He swung around quickly, let go and landed clean and flat in the seat of 90mm chaingun turret, "Oooooo-Rahhhhh!!" He held down both triggers firmly hitting large masses of covenant as they tried to help their friends in the fight. He kept shooting until he ran out of ammo. A brute jumped in the trench and he got off the turret. He took out a frag and threw it but didnt pull the pin. The brute doved and Kyle took out a plasma grenade, armed it and whipped it at the brute, "Hold that for me would ya' ugly?" The grenade detonated and Kyle ran from the trench back into the heat of the battle.

The group continued onwards to the Central power station, a handful of Marines and Helljumpers with a two officers leading. They went about the corridors wearily yet urgently, eventually getting up into the ground level buildings without any problems. Either they were damn lucky to have not encountered anymore resistance, or, the Covenant that had been trying desperately to wipe them were called back to engage a new objective. Captain Twombley hoped it was his first thought, and they were just lucky.

Slowly, the group approached the doors to the central core area. The sound of distant gunfire permeated the locked doors, bursts of rattling emanating from deep inside. The sound was eerie, and it made Michael uneasy as the group of Marines and Hell jumpers approached. He leveled his MA6B at the door and the targeting reticle jumped in unison with the weapon on his HUD. As Michael approached the door ahead of the others, he reached his left hand out towards the security pad and to type in the override code. His fingers dashed along the vertical keypad while he continued to watch the door, but he did not press the enter key. Chinning a switch in his helmet he opened a COM, "take aim. Return fire only."
