He saw the agony in her face. He took one step towards her, grabbed her arm, and twisted her into his body. Holding her tight to him he softly said. "Just let it out, let it all out. You'll feel better later." He had done this to numerous people, both women and men. About ninety-nine percent of the time all they had to do was just let it out and they would feel a lot better. The one percent who didn't often needed guidance in what to do. Although he had a feeling that Rosette was going to be part of the one percent, he knew she would be alright with Chrono around. But for now, she could scream into his shoulder, beat him with her fists and basically do anything to him.

Chrono paused, he looked almost teary as he looked at the ground, but as he drew this gaze back even with hers, his eyes were bright and alert.

"I understand." He began simply."This a new adjustment for the both of us. I will try my best to help her understand her own importance."

"Let go of me!"Rosette yelled, trying to get away from him,"Let go of me now! I don't need your sympathy! Get off me!"

Rosette was fighting relentlessly to get away,but she was so overcome by her own emotions to really do anything, otherwise, she would have likely tried her best to knock him to the ground.

"Get away!" She yelled again, tears streaming down her cheeks,"NOW!"

"No one of mine is going to die on me! I won't let any son of a b***h take them from me! Now get OFF!" Rosette screamed, this time the angry beast within let loose, her knee striking Khui right... where someone of his particular gender would not like to be struck at...

It was near ten to twenty minutes after Rosette had left Khui than Chrono ran past.

"...Ah! Khui! Khui, have you seen Rosette?" He asked, looking out of breath. "Did she come by here?"

(Sorry... this a bit of an off day for my typing... sweatdrop )

"Don't worry, sir. I know how to handle her." Chrono assured him after checking the direction he pointed out,"I can only hope she hasn't gotten herself lost in the woods. I know she doesn't know the way, but... it's best I find her soon before she tries something foolish."

"Yes, thank you s- Khnui." Chrono replied before racing off in the other diretion. He glanced a the sky to see dark, heavy clouds forming overhead, just like the night they'd arrived here. He was becoming steadily more anxious to find Rosette.

"Rosette! Hey, Rosette!" He yelled loudly, his voice only carrying so far, would she hear it?

"Blaise!" Chrono replied hopefully as he popped up from behind a rock. "You haven't found any sign of her, have you?" he added, frosty breath clouding his face.

"This is strange weather, I never thought it to be so cold this time of day!"

Blaise heard Chrono’s voice behind her and she turned to see him stand from behind a large rock.

“No, I haven’t. But here in this forest if you want to find someone that’s hiding you’re going to have quite a bit of trouble, so I suggest we wait for her to find us. And as for the weather, you’ll get used to it. Winter comes fast in the forest. With all the trees sheltering us we do not sense winter until it is upon us.”

Blaise folded her arms and gazed out upon the lake once more before turning back to the forest. She took a step away from the water’s edge when she noticed something. It was a rustle in the trees but did not have the mannerisms of any lark or squirrel known to the forest. She searched the trees but couldn’t find anything. There was an uneasy feeling in her stomach. Something wasn’t right.

“Chrono, step away from the trees.” She commanded, searching them still. There was another flicker of movement and Blaise saw a figure with the semblance of humanity and she called out, “Excuse me, can I help you?”

The figure stopped moving and looked to her. She put her hand cautiously to her sword’s hilt as a man she was unfamiliar with dropped from the trees. He stepped from the shadows and into the clearing, nearing her.

“Hello, Blaise.” He said. She froze. It was unlikely that someone she didn’t know could know her. What was this guy playing at?

“I said, can I help you?” she repeated. The man gave her a wicked smile and reached into his pocket.

“Yes,” he said, withdrawing his hand with a clutched fist, “You can die.”

The man opened his fist, flicking his wrist towards Blaise. A yellow dust came from his hand and hit her in the eyes. She was expecting an attack, but not this. Her hands had moved to her weapons instead of to protect her face. Whatever the dust was, it stung.

She lifted her hands to her eyes in surprise and stumbled backwards with a shout of pain. She regained herself quickly but her vision was clouded and she could not see her attacker. She felt a sharp blow to her chest and she was thrown back into the icy water of the lake.

The water was so cold it hurt. She could barely move in the frigid water and was slightly stunned by hitting her head on a rock as she was thrown in. She pushed the pain in her head aside and fought to break above water. She finally did after what seemed like an eternity and gasped for the breath that was quickly leaving her cold lungs. She felt as if there were cords tied around her chest that were squeezing tighter.

Blaise couldn’t tell if her eyes were open or not. She couldn’t see. She floundered for a moment not knowing which way was which when finally she heard the man’s voice again.

“Guess what, Blaise?” he called with a cruel cackle, “You’ve found your spy.”
