Can't stand the brass section in general. Their staff member guy isolates them from the rest of the band and gives them all this stuff and kinda rubs it in every one else's faces. Can't stand them... scream

Mostly percussion and trumpets for me. Trumpets can't play and percussion can't play good. They can't play less than forte either, which gets annoying.

The french horn. Our players suck but our BD keeps saying things like, "Great job guys. You made such a pretty sound." Obviousley our BD seems to like the sound of beached whales.

I really dislike a lot of the flutes, and i play the flute too. A lot of the french horns are really stuck up so they can be anoying too.

This year, there isn't a section I particularly hate, but last year it was the percussionist, because they were so immature and idiots.

*bangs head against wall* Flutes... I hate flutes... They are all very preppy and most of them are cheerleaders. B1ackMage696 I really dislike a lot of the flutes, and i play the flute too. If anythin at my school we are all quiet and we keep to ourselves mostly.

I don't like the flutes because they pretend to be goody-goddies and then they are talking themselves(I'm a flute but I don't act like that). I don't like the drums because they are immature and they always goof around so we lose all this time of practice because of them.

hippogriff_08 in my band...i dislike the trumpets the most...not all but most... in the band totally...the low brass section is considered the weakest and they always blame the trombones most of all...my section...but im not saying i rock and roll my section but...i dont suck, i'm mostly the only one heard beside the head one...i hate judgemental people -coughs- 1st trumpets I have to say wow, the weakest....We are the biggest sound in our band, our woodwinds don't play out at all, trumpets barely, and percussion just look at everyone else like "omg confusion whats going on"

Why are you guys picking out the group of people you dislike the most instead of the instrument you dislike the most? sweatdrop That just seems kind of odd to me. -shrug-
I'm a trumpet player and the hate is kinda making me sad. Haha. In our band, the trumpet players were really good, just loud. The clarients tended to play badly, but they were also the biggest section in the band.
The first part of the flutes section was good, can't say much about the rest of them. The trumbones were awesome. The percussion was really good, but the people themselves were obnoxious. When the band direction wasn't there, they tended to dismantle things. The ceiling is full of holes because of them.
The tubas were...okay. There was only two of them. Same with the french horns. The oboes...okay. The saxes were awesome. But they had the stereotypical personality you'd see coming from the trumpets. At least the first saxes, anyway. They're the only ones in band that I seen actually fight for the first chair.
As a section of people, I dislike the clarients. They tended to not care.
As the actual instrument...ah. Hard to say. I've seen all of them sound really good depending on the song. But playing by themselves, I'd have to say the tuba.
I'm 'ah gonna have to defend the trumpet. >0 The trumpet is a nice sounding instrument...when it's played well. Which in Jr.high and high school, not a lot of people are able to really do that, it seems. But when they make it sing, it's lovely and not as loud and obnoxious as you might think. But it's really had to do. That's why trumpets try to practice all the time. That's what it takes to be able to do it well. The ones that are serious about it, anyway. It's torture trying to play higher notes and make it sound good. Any brass player can relate.
But it's the same with any instrument. I've had my reasons for not liking an instrument throttled after I listened to someone who was really good at it play something that was written for it. That's the thing with band, unless you've got a solo, you really don't hear the potental of something. Everything is written and played to compliment everything else. It's not meant to be heard without everything else, so when you hear it on its own...it's just cringe.
Now, even though I played the trumpet, I hardly fit the stereotype. In school, I was so nervous and shy that I couldn't talk without either fumbling up my words or studdering on them. So I didn't talk.
Woot for ramblingness. xD I've been out of band for a while now though. I really miss it. emo
