Lais i feel all special because even though i'm not the greatest at horn the girl who sits under me is just a freshman and could never beat me at a challange *doesn't mean to sound selfabsorbed* the thing that really bothers me is when she tells me that i'm doing something wrong even though i realized it myself. isn't everyone allowed to make mistakes? ya, the senior in the chair ahead of me can be like that. he is a much better player than most, but he often acts like other people are completely inferior and stupid, like if he didn't tell you to breathe and show you the proper technique, you would forget to, fail at life, and die. lately he's only been getting onto the girl in 1st chair, cause he's pissed that she beat him in the auditions. he'll probably challenge her soon *sigh*

Lais especially when you know that you are better than them (not to be concided) and when they are a freshman and don't know how the band works LOL I'm a freshman... but he is only a sophmore. There are no junior or senior players, so we are the top 2 in the school, but still.. I am ahead of him and he always points stuff out errr (we have been rivals since middle school)

i play the french horn. but im only in 8th grade and i really kinda suck. i wanna be in marching band next year and im gunna have to switch to mellowphone?? i've played one before (at band camp) and it was fun how many people play the mellowphone? who switched from french horn?

french_horn_player i play the french horn. but im only in 8th grade and i really kinda suck. i wanna be in marching band next year and im gunna have to switch to mellowphone?? i've played one before (at band camp) and it was fun how many people play the mellowphone? who switched from french horn? I do!! I actually switched from bassoon to french horn in middle school, now in highschool i switched the french horn with the mello. I LOVE it.

grrrr! i've been beaten, and bumped down to 4th part. i was too jittery during my challenge, didn't play as well as i know i can. oh well, i'm better with the lower notes of the 4th part neways *sigh*

Hey!
I play Mellophone in marching season, but I prefer French Horn!
I was 1st chair, but I was bumped to 2nd because I couldn't try out for region grrrrrrr! oh,well...soon I shall challenge her and once agian I shall reclaim my throne!!Bwa ha ha ha!!!! twisted

I might borrow a french horn from my school and learn to play it soon. ^^ Our school has, like, three (one of them's really nice, too), and no one's using them at all. We don't have any french horn players and haven't since my freshman year (I'm a junior now). I probably wouldn't play it for class, since I love my flute too much, but maybe I would for, like, a song or two where we really need it.

Lais especially when you know that you are better than them (not to be concided) and when they are a freshman and don't know how the band works hey i'm a feshman and i think i got the drift of the band pretty fast... anywho i'm a mellaphone/fhorn i love the sound of the instrument. its so pretty and i think that my band should have more horn solos! grr.. i guess you can't get everything you want can you?

And french horn doesn't seem TOO bad... I played around with it a few days ago, and I didn't do too bad given that I didn't know the fingerings so I had no idea what notes I was playing. XD

Well, I'm almost definitely gonna learn it... just have to get permission now. XD We've got a song that has french horn melody at one point, and I figure if I learn it, my BD won't have to transpose it and all that. I told my oboe friend I wanted to, and she though it'd be cool. So... yeah. ^^
