everyday when we r done with band, we hear people going "band is g@y" and stuff like that. so i just glare ^^

Our band is popular. XD We have oiur section of the stands that's just for the band but everyone else crowds near us. No one's there for the games. They're there for the band. biggrin I love it.
My friend once made posters with glitter and ribbons that she held up that said: "GO PERCUSSION!!!" and other such things XDD

Durza the Shade Elenriel Nimloth We never had drive-by discouragement.... In fact, one of the "things" to do is to honk and cheer when you pass by the field while the marching band is practicing. Especially if you're an alumni. xd They come to expect it. I suppose some of the honking might be positive, but we can't tell the difference, and it's distracting anyway. Well, at least it'll teach you to deal with distractions. blaugh

I know how that goes!! Our seats are all roped off. If I wear my band shirt around town I might as well have a blinking arrow over my head. XD Our new band director says he gets it all the time since he really shaped us up this year. We're opening the new Wal-Mart as our exam. rofl

Someone yelled at a girl at the beginning of a concert once.
It's completely silent in the auditorium, and you hear, "GO MADDI!"
I thought our band director was going to kill her. Literally.
She's like, "I totally didn't tell her to yell at me!"
But our band is pretty popular... well, the drumline is, anyway.
Once, we were walking into an away game, and someone in the stands looked down and said, "WOW, I wish I had a cool pirate hat like that!"
We were like, "Um, is he an idiot? We're patriots. Duh."

Well, there was this once when I was walking back to my locker after band with meh flute. (^^; ) Some dork yelled at "BAND SUCKS!!!" So I gave him the magical finger. heart

When my band was practicing for our parade, we usually practiced on empty roads. Sometimes, though, we would have to practice near the football team. They were HUGE pains. Always putting us down and being complete jerks. I swear. Everyone wanted to kill them. Especially, since the band was bigger than the football team, so I think we might have won >:]

Hmm, interesting. My school's practice field is kinda isolated from the main road, so we don't have to deal with people like that interupting practice. But right now the school somehow found enough money to rebuild to stadium and now the practice field isn't there anymore!!!!
But, the worst was when we were the home team, and we were second for halftime performance. Out of nowhere these kids from the opposing school were shouting out "Our band's better than your band!" over and over again. They would have been SO murdered if our BD's had let us.
Ironically the kids weren't even in the band.

when we go on the field, no one gives a care, were used to it
and at our last competition our worst flutist (she as a red flute) got a lot of attentition because of her instrument. we decided she can't march with it anymore untill she gets better.

I was in the food court area once during a game with another girl, walking to the restrooms, and we pass some kid and he sneers "Band nerds" at us.
It was kinda funny because it was so unexpected...come on, calling someone a band nerd is sooo high school. It's okay to be in band once you're in college!
The only time we get yelled at, really, is at away games, but that's to be expected.

People honk at us during practice all the time. By the second week into the season we ignore it... [i dont really see why people do that since our band is the most successful sport at our school]
There are idiots at some away football games that say stuff. And idiot 7th graders asking where they can get one of our hats
actually the one that has pissed me off the most was at a competition. one of the people in our pit has a bad limp. His leg has been messed up since birth. We were moving the pit stuff and some idiot in the parking lot beside us yells "what's with the gimp?"
we were pissed. you DONT make fun of him. unless you are a close friend, and even then he knows your joking.
