And i always mean what I say.
And gothy, you're kinda right. But when your in a pyp guild that keeps growing.. not everyone can comment on everyone. I havent been here as long as you (but i was shortly in the GD-PYP), so I dont know exaclty how things used to run..but isnt it better to say nice things about a person rather than bad? I've never (in the time ive been here) seen someone say how ugly a person looks or how bad the photo turned out.
If you dont agree or dont want to say anything nice, then you dont comment. (speaking in general)

And becuase ive never said this before (I've seen pictures but didnt get a chance to say/comment);

First off let me start by saying this:

Well you're part right. I've noticed the pattern here a LONG time ago. It's very complicated but it goes something like this.

Let's break people into 5 base groups of aesthetic placement.
Very Un-Attractive: My God, what happened!?!?
Un- Attractive: Eh...
Attractive: attractive enough that a good personality makes them desireable
Very Attractive: :insert drool here:
Fan Club Attractive: Usually an Attractive person and sometimes but less often a Very Attractive person with something undefinable about them that draws people to them in waves.

Now the people who are ugly and know they're ugly will post a picture. Above or below they will announce that they are indeed ugly. This creates an emotional rift in the viewer. The viewers societally induced reaction will give them a need to respond in a way to make the person feel better mainly out of pity and not out of true dissagreement and they can do this because it makes them feel good for doing a good deed and because they are not threatened by the person posting the picture.

Then there are the attractive people who have low self esteem. When they post a picture and announce how ugly they are it's usually conflictant in thought. They are usually aware already that people do not find them unattractive but due to some malformed input from earlier in life or some jealous relative who is constantly nit picking their appearance they are posting specifically for the ego boots of people dissagreeing with them. This also is done from safety because they are almost certain that no one will tell them they are ugly and if someone does all thier firends and honest people will countermind this hence creating the same ego boost. The worst that can happen to these people is no response at all.

Then there are the posters who know they are attractive enough that some people will like them and some people will not. They tend to post and make no direct contrast to thier attractiveness. This is because they have no need to try to prompt a response. As such unfortunately these posts rearely get a response from anyone other than people the poster normally converses with and maybe a few flirts and possibly if the person is lucky someone who has a crush on them. But it's okay cause they're pretty much fine with it.

Next you have ugly people who don't know they're ugly at all and they will post a picture and then if they don't get a reply they seem confused and usually repost as they assume someone just missed it but really everyones being nice by not commenting. Usually this person has false self esteem because they were once an ugly person who said they were ugly and they were lied to and beleived it. They post and when they don't get that same response they used to get when they thought and announced that they were ugly it causes inner conflict which spreads into various aspects of thier personality.

Then you have the attractive people who think they are attractive. They usually happily post pictures and can usually be identified by people constantly hinting to the person that they should be posting even more pictures without being prompted by comments about the posters appearance.

Now if you notice there are mimiced responses for both attractive and unattractive people. As such most posters are constantly confused by the mixed signals. They see attractive and unattractive people both being responded to in similar fashions.

Honestly I beleive most of the stress and conflict that bursts round these parts that eventually cause people to make burst posts talking about how much this place sucks and how sick of it they are and that they're leaving and never comming back (for the 6th time) all stem from the falsely apparent contradicting patterns.

The psychology of this place is all very disturbing though if you really look into it. I however enjoy chaos.

Obviously I'm generalising and there are exceptions to all these things... but they're rare. Some of us are actually just flat out honest about what we say is good and have enough manners to remember that if we don't have anything nice to say we should shut the ******** up.

Now, ehm, you always take things way too serious. 3nodding I agree mostly with all the stuff you say, I wouldn've done it better. But for example, Ura's picture of calling PyP a concentration camp, I bet that was a joke and you didn't get the humour (so didn't I completely, but oh well ~).

I just want to say: stop taking everything so damn serious... sweatdrop

Sorry Meer. I actually have been working on it. But i've recently lost a lot of my faith in people and with it most of my humor. That and I understand personality too much and in doing so have learned that most "jokes" are usually how a person proposes an idea, thought or desire while feeling that it will be declined, rejected or make someone dislike them. They present it with humor so if the reciever likes it then they can move foreward (the backfire usually being that the reciever replies in joke also if they are in accord making it hard to determine the honesty and making it nearly impossible to actually broach) and if the reciever rejects it they can retreat behind "I was just kidding" so no one judges them poorly.

I tried explaining this to someone once before and the metaphor works but no one really seems to understand but here goes.

You, me, Impy and others are in a mall. We see someone we don't know fall down the stairs. We don't know why he fell. He's not badly hurt. We laugh.

Now if we knew the person and know they suffer from early stages of Muscular Distrophie and that thier falling is mostly cause by loss of strength due to the degeneration of thier muscle tissue... not funny anymore.

I usually see and understand why people are doing things... take a lot of the humor out of it. sad To laugh at someone when I don't understand why they did something that I thought was funny is okay. But laughing at someone when I know... that's just mean.

Wow. I didn't expect any sort of response to that rant. It was just a bit of venting, really.

spz: I understand that, 100%, its just when people deliberately comment on "less atrractive" people rather than yourself, it gets a little nerve-wracking(sp?). I just believe that if you don't think someone is attractive at all then you shouldn't comment at all. Because, I do think it is mean to deliberately call someone ugly.
