After taking a few heavy breaths, Zebulon smashed his shield into the bird's wing again, this time not quite at the same level. It made a rather unfortunate scratching noise, much like nails on a chalkboard, and Zebulon cringed. Quote: HP: 56/56 Damage: 6 Damage Total: 163

She decided to keep attacking even if the damned thing wasnt doing anything back, just swinging away while she kept hearing the John Cena theme song in her head.

Ernst switched primary arms, feeling the fatigue easily. His shield was really big, and took up a lot of space, and was heavy - but he'd seen people as tiny as Sylvia wield shields like this. He could keep going, especially if it actually hurt this bird.
He...wasn't actually sure that he was making any sort of dent against the bird, but that was all right if it was being kept at bay.
With any luck it was the only one of this magnitude. Ernst didn't really want to think about the possibility that the birds didn't reproduce asexually. Or maybe they were like anglerfish. That would be helpful, too. Anything to reassure himself that this was the only one of its...size. And loudness.

Mal moved in to find a clear space on the bird and hacked at it again; another solid hit, which was pleasing, even if the sounds of metal on metal, being hit by more metal, was giving him one hell of a headache.

Another swing, and this time Rob's greatsword bit deep into the giant bird's flesh, drawing forth a gusher of blood spurting out from the wound. That was more like it! He tugged at the weapon to pull it out of the bird; after catching on some of the metallic feathers it finally came free, sending him stepping back a couple of paces. "Right, bird, take that."

This was what should've happened while she was fighting the other smaller birds! Apparently, she was supposed to do most of her damage here instead of in all of the smaller battles she did before. She banged on one of the bird's claws, slowly chipping away at it.

Briiva quickly readied another arrow and loosed it without a thought. This time though the arrow simply glanced off the giant birds metallic feathers and went, spinning, off into the snow behind the creature leaving it with nary a mark. Briiva frowned, but took the failed shot as an excuse to watch the other chosen as they attacked it in a multitude of weapons. She did think it odd that the metallic beast wasn't even attempting to fight back. It was disconcerting, and gave her pause mid draw with her next arrow. Briiva let her bow go slack, quickly moving to a new position. She did her best to get behind the thing until she was, hopefully, out of it's line of sight. She kept a grip on her arrow, but didn't string it. Not yet. Instead, Briiva decided to watch the fight continue for a while. Something didn't feel right, and she would like to better understand the feeling in her gut before proceeding.
No damage!

Forward, hit, retreat so everyone else could have a chance. Ernst repeated the mantra so much in his head that he wasn't really concentrating on aim. Fortunately it was just a missed swing, and not a missed swing that brained some other hapless chosen.
And he'd already retreated, so he couldn't dart forward again and redeem himself until another chance cropped up. Good going, Ernst.
But the nice thing about not having seen Erica in a while (and he did hope she was safe) was that she wouldn't be here to needle him about it.

Misha barely dodged a waving wing-tip, spinning away in a tight dancer's move and bringing her shield upwards to bang metal against metal. The weight of it jarred her shoulder and she gasped. With quick steps, she retreated from the immediate fray. As she went, her eyes searched for certain of her favorite Chosen.

Sid drew another arrow from her quiver and notched it, sighting carefully down it. There were too many people between her and it though, and her aim suffered as she tried to find a place to hit it where someone wasn't. The next opportunity, too, passed without movement from Ernst.
He was thinking, now. Would it be better to retreat?
Would that get Chris and Brynn to murder him?
Probably. But he wanted to know for sure where all his friends were. It was too chaotic here. And yet he couldn't imagine Erica staying away from here, or Davor (no one left behind, he thought) abandoning the other chosen, and especially not the other civilians.

Marisol was glad to have a ranged weapon with this big metal horror in front of her. She danced to the side, careful to avoid her fellow chosen, and lashed out at the bird. Even with a direct hit, she was left unsettled. She hoped everyone was doing a lot of damage to take this feather brained creature down. Marisol's Health: 47 HP

Zebulon switched to his off-hand for a moment to shake his arm out. Swinging the shield around like he was got tiring awful fast. Unfortunately, he had no practice with his off-hand at all, and therefore missed rather embarrassingly. Quote: HP: 56/56 Damage: 0 Damage Total: 215
