With a sort of definite, loud flapping, the weight of the songbird lessens - though it does not vanish - and the stag reappears at Half Truth's side, running along with them. The ghost of the bird remains perched where it was, still singing a running cadence.

 He made it and realized it was a race. Fun times. He gathers his hooves under him and races to the nearest kin to follow them. 8

Half Truth took the sudden appearance of the stag in stride- literally, as she didn't want to fall off the rocks she was running on. "Welcome back, Wildflower Breeze," she said enjoying the alliteration. "Though I suppose you never really left, did you?"

Minstrel almost stops to gawk at the stag changing forms, and the shadow bird sticking around. Only his mother's teachings kicking in last minute keep him going with just a little longer than polite look. Refocusing on the path stones he matches his hops to the trill of the shadow-bird.

"You're right! I'm Dew Drop Sun," she nodded at her new acquaintance.
She was doing her best, but she had to admit that the multiple sprints were beginning to make her tired. Still, she was not going to give up. She was a runner. If she could help in any way, this was how. She would make sure they finished this. She would blame any slowness on the wide-set stones she was having to hop between towards the end of the path.

The stones, which have been glowing steadily, suddenly cease. After about half a minute, two of them begin to glow again. OOC Unfortunately, you will need to start this leg of your journey over from the beginning. The target number is 13. You have twenty-five OOC minutes from when 1 is posted.

Half Truth groaned as the rocks stopped glowing, but quickly composed herself. "And again!" she called. "Let's do it together!"

When the stone ahead stopped glowing, Dew Drop got almost pouty. She halted and took the moment she knew they had before the glow started again to begin a leisurely walk back to the first stone and catch her breath a bit.
"Alright. This time we'll get it." She nodded, reassuring herself more than anything. She nodded at Wildflower Breeze, "Keep up the encouraging songs! I think it does help."
She nodded at Minstrel, "You ready for another go?" Without hardly waiting for an answer, when the next stone began to glow, she kicked off.

With a faint huff, Breeze got his old legs working again for their latest attempt. Te songbird sang again, a sweet and steady rhythm, and the stag hummed along when he had breath to.

Minstrel was momentarily disenheartend, but shook it off when Dew Drop Sun spoke. "Darn right I'm ready!" He said, shooting off after her.

Rounding a bend, Half Truth made sure to not hit the wrong color of rocks. She didn't want to have to start again!

"Good!" She called to him, "I need you to keep me striving for better!"
Despite being tired, being conscious of her breath on the last break may have reinvigorated her; even pressing forth, her muscles were not as sore as the last go. Perhaps it was the song as well, hearing the bird continue to twitter in the background. It was also nice having a friend, and knowing that they were all in this together.

Focusing on keeping both his footwork and his singing even, Breeze hardly had the thought-room for grumbling about having to keep up with all these young whippersnappers. That sure didn't stop him, though.

That sounded almost like an invitation to friendship, not that he'd complain, Dew Drop Sun seemed to be a sweetheart, and was very pretty too. Letting the not-bird bird song fill him up Minstrel bounds on.

"I wonder when the kiokote stopped using this site," Half Truth mused as she ran. "It looked abandoned for time forgotten when we got here, but... look at how smooth these rocks are. They used to use this place. But sometime they stopped... I wonder why."
