►▬▬▬◄ Maribel "Mare" Derson ►▬▬▬◄ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Mare was still a little tired behind the eyes and taking a moment to catch up with everything going on. She found herself only catching every other word the Keisidian was saying as she rambled off about the differing food options available. Her thoughts were still focused on what all had gone on the night before. What snapped her back into the moment was hearing something being asked about last night. "What do you mean?"

—(••÷[ aтнena dorne ]÷••— The apprenticing Banshee found herself finding support on the dining bench built into the trailer. “There is an array of energy in here. More than I was expecting at least.” She took some deep breaths to put her senses at bay before thoroughly explaining. “My species has a higher sense when it comes to energy. We are very susceptible to general energy. Everything leaves an aura for us to pick up on. Items, places, and most often people. Many years of training to lessen its effects on me.”
She placed her hands in a mantra while focusing on her breaths. Her state of mind was starting to clear up once more as displayed through her markings. They swam along her body like fish in a pond before slowing down from the frenzy stirred by the conflict of emotions that they sensed until they were at a calmed standstill. “We are fine. . .we are fine. . .” She chanted with a soft exhale at the end.
“Usually, this is no ordeal. We have adapted to function under the aura of a crowd or a squad under pressure. But I was not expecting to walk in to a number of emotions like so.” She stood up to test her balance before following it up with a handstand for a minute. “Forgive me if this is too intrusive, but I felt uncertainty, elation, terror, and then confusion . . .and now embarrassment to add. Each one is distinct to two people. Maybe a third one, but I recognize Mistress Silk’s. I can only assume the two strongest auras are yours and Bandit’s.”
She caught herself from the handstand before showing genuine concern to the Hybrid. "I do not wish to be rude, but . . .did things escalate or deescalate with you two?" There was a blush on her face asking such a question, "Such an indecent thing of me to ask. I apologize! I-I just hoped that after our talk yesterday th-that luck came your way!" She bowed her head in forgiveness as even a Keisidian of her status needed to show humility.

►▬▬▬◄ Maribel "Mare" Derson ►▬▬▬◄ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Hybrid did her best to listen carefully, but a mix of realizing they had been caught in a way and the explanation of how was confusing her. Her expression of one that was of confusion and embarrassment as she hadn't had time to even process what happened. Athena leaving the morning after made her feel like maybe something was wrong or that she regretted kissing her. Still if she remained silent an answer would be provided to the young Banshee regardless. "They umm escalated I guess." Her lips did not know whether to curl up into a smile or remained uncertain of her next words. "W-We kissed after sharing a dance. I kissed her and-" Mare's couldn't help to smile though at this moment. "She kissed me back."

—(••÷[ aтнena dorne ]÷••— Naomi’s jaw was dropped in awe at the more Mare explain before being left agape by the smile on her face at the last part. “K-kisushita! ?-!?” There was an abundance of energy behind those lively eyes while a inaudible gasp escaped her mouth . The shock on her face turned into a smile as she bounced in place.
Based on the previous interactions she saw between the two, the idea of the two kissing meant so much. Maribel’s doubting was nothing for the Hybrid to worry about. It was the same for her first kiss with her girlfriend. “If she reciprocated the kiss then doesn’t that mean she shares your feelings, Mare? There is interest from her!”
Her hands waved in giddiness as if she was ready to explode in cheer. She quickly grabbed a pillow from one of the bunk beds and grabbed it before giving a muffled squeal of cheer. She hugged the pillow tightly before there was a brief pause of silence between the two. “Excuse me,” the Keisidian finally spoke up, “I’m just a romantic at heart. I’ve ready books about these kinds of things. It’s just so cute seeing people in love.” Naomi smiled as she couldn’t hide her emotions the way her mentor always could.
She leaned in enthusiastically as she remembered her own joy when she shared her first kiss with Kamietta. She had never shared such talks with anyone and yet she yearned to know how one would describe the emotions radiating from the pleasantry. "What was it like for you? Were you scared? Did it feel nice?" Naomi fiddled with her own fingers as her markings swirled, "Was that your first time kissing a girl? W-would you do it again?"

The two had tension since they had met and that kiss still had her lips tingling despite the interrupt. She shook her head to return to the moment in front of her. W-Wait! We're not in love. We just kissed." Her tone was panicked as she could not provide an answer of what they were exactly. "I guess it felt nice and it wasn't my first time kissing a girl." She rubbed the back of her neck nervously while her tail swished about uncertain. "I don't know if we'll do it again."
With that she turned to start walking to see if maybe she could change the subject with the young recruit. "What about you? Have anyone you are into or any interesting stories?"

—(••÷[ aтнena dorne ]÷••— "Hmm, the most interesting story for Kami and I would be maybe be running around the city all day to grab her favorite pizza until she was worried sick or maybe,”she tapped her chin with a tilt of her head. Having to think about the most obvious made her laugh, “The first kiss!”
Naomi swung her feet as she sat in her chair ready to indulge in all their memories. “I had already spent nights with Kami before, chores and running errands, but there was one night she stayed up the whole night trying to finish a commission.” Just talking about Kami put a smile on her face, “She was slouched over her workbench in the morning when I found her. I was going to just . . .take a chance with a peck on the cheek to tell her she did a good job.”
The young Banshee gave a nervous laugh as she felt embarrassed to tell the rest. “It turns out she was taking a quick power nap. So when she heard my voice, she turned her face in my direction and . . .we were on the mark” Naomi’s markings swam over her face like a group of fish in water, “In all that time spent together, I had never seen Kamietta so flustered in any of my previous visits like she was then.”
=============
Gyokor-5, the fifth moon and least acknowledged moon of Zlaibovic, has been having a surprise visit from the Lang Sur since last night. The stealth ship had landed without notice due its creeping in the dark side of the planet’s rotation. It made for Cerci and Athena’s intrusion into the House of Frotti’s base relatively easy for them as they worked their way from the inside back out.
A Chronoweaver Araqnian could make an entry point wherever she pleased and for Silk, going for central control was the same as going for the head of the serpent. It was simple precision like a cut from a scalpel for her. One guard patrolling in an obscure spot, threadings that crushed the windpipes. Take the guard’s keycard and suspend the remain’s in a dark spot of a ship hangar’s rafters. Give Bandit access to the base of the tower and then pincher once her fellow Banshee had ascended the stairs up while doing her more lacerating work of the guards. All the while, she could listen in on the intel she needed back on Zlaihovic. Or at least it should have been as simple as that. If there was one thing the inquisitor had regretted asking, it was how Bandit’s journey had been so far with the Hybrid on the planet.
“See and we’ve danced before,” Bandit’s voice modulator rang as she took a step into central control while masked by her helmet, “But she was crying and sobbing about going home.” The nearest guard to the Banshee looked stunned at this sudden appearance when the moon was usually so dead. He went to raise his gun, but felt a power grasp on his jaw as all he could see was the nonchalant individual’s gloved hand. It was a forceful torque of the head in one direction before a snap was heard as the soldier was tossed down the stairs with the rest of the pile she had made on her way up, “So now is that going to be like every time we do a dance, she’s going to pull something on me like that?” She fired two rounds from her hand cannon at the men closest to any of the control boards as they went limp .“What if she tries to claw me or bite me again? Or she yells at me for not dancing right? Not that it’s like . . .a bad thing if she yells at me, but the first two leave marks!”
Guards near the windows fired off a few rounds at the intruder, but were surprised by the rooftop latch being sprung open as a flurry of bullets riddled one as they other looked for cover as best as he could. The room filled with a humming that sounded almost like a lullaby. He tried to watch all of his angles as best as he could while ignoring the body that fell to the floor beside him. He looked over at the alarm button, but knew that sprinting to it would be suicide. He could only try to take out one and then try to make his way downstairs, but was surprised when he felt a shadow embracing him. “Why did I ask?” Another modulated voice asked with a sigh. A figure masked in a cloak and helmet appeared over the infantry with an imposing figure. How did it get to him so quickly? Their fragrance smelled nice as he was mesmerized by it. The bottom part of the figures mask unlocked as the being bared its fangs at him before he felt a p***k into the flesh of his neck. One second it was a blissful suction like a kiss and then it was a convulsing agony that left him grasping for anything as his vision faded there on the floor. The only thing he could see was the tall feminine figure as appendages loomed over them both. Despite his life vanishing before him, Silk was too caught up in what little silence she was getting to listen in on something.
“She’s been this entirely different person since Hwyaden and I was annoyed with her, but now,” Bandit swayed as she could still remember the pace of her steps during the moment with the Hybrid as she switched off the control communications and tampered with the defense systems of the base, “If you were there to see us both it would make more sense.”
“Hmm,” Silk hummed to confirm she was partly listening to the bounty hunter ramble on about something she was indeed, in fact, there to witness. “Out of sight, out of mind.” She muttered before something seemed to catch her attention. She smiled under her mask as she was grateful for the likes of having her apprentice stay behind while the two Banshees worked. Now she knew why Naomi was eager for the day to come. “Record.” The Araqnian chimed into her holocom as she went about her intel gathering for the Orbital Strike System.
“Record what?” Bandit asked as Silk had been quiet for most of the mission.
“Ohh, nothing,” Silk replied with an amused tone as her fingers worked with a bit more enthusiasm, “I just found something is all. How about we keep cleaning up here and then after, I’ll let you have a listen? As thanks for all your help for all of this, cara.” It was time to give Athena a bit of a reality check before her head was too high in the stars.
——————
The duo continued on with their assault on the moon base. It brought back memories that Bandit had only in fragments, but it was still an easier task for the likes of a Banshee. With Silk by her side, it showed how adept Banshees could work in numbers. How they were steps above a foot soldier and infantry honed only more so by the likes of a commander they shared during their service. They could be swift, they could be visceral, and they could even be merciful. The refined graced of the Araqnian could silence shouts and gunfire, along with Aquatorian’s ability to drown out grunts and turmoil with brawn and accuracy. The dynamics each operative possessed lethality with which painted a unique shade lethality unique only to them. Despite the beauty of their synchronization, they could be the very bane of each other’s existence when they wanted to be.
“Oops.” Cerci played the audio of Naomi and Maribel’s interaction happening back on Zlaihovic for Athena to hear as they reached the climax of their own destructive duet.
Bandit flinched as she heard Maribel’s voice before realizing the assassin had been eavesdropping in on their trailer. She was ready to give her an earful before she got one from the Hybrid when they returned, but the bounty hunter’s attention was pulled back in as she heard Mare’s thoughts on the kiss shared. She didn’t want to listen, but her own puzzlement left her trying to piece things together as one set of words didn’t match up to another. It didn’t help that she was finishing up the remainder of their adversaries, but it was indefinitely the big cat she was crushing on. Not only that, but this apprentice of Silk’s kept on bringing up a name that put a pit in her stomach, Kamietta, Ashara’s best friend. Her midsection felt like it was writhing as she remembered their last encounter years ago when they disbanded.
Silk took a seat on one of the nearby countertops while the bounty hunter replayed the audio over and over again with body language that showed her upset. It was the sweetest song as she didn’t have to do anything to setup this wake-up call thanks to the meek feline. She practically did it to herself and the Araqnian was able to listen in on every last word.
Athena’s head hung as she finally took her finger off the replay button of her headset. She shook her head as she felt an array of emotions hitting her from upset to heartbreak. Something that felt so out of this word for her, sounded so nonchalant for the Hybrid. “Why . . .why is she saying it like that? If it’s not. . . then what is it?” She muttered to herself as her chest was pinging with a tight pain, “Did I do something wrong? I-it felt right. . .I thought. . .”
Silk could see the seed of doubt and betrayal be placed in Bandit as she knew now was the best time to help it grow. It would be painful, but Athena was only distracted by this woman. She had more grand goals beyond a dull feline eager to play with her heart. Not only that, but she had a key piece of information to throttle the blonde woman back into her original objective. It was the whole reason she called out to her, but needed to deliver it at the right time. For now, it was all about the build up.
“Bandit,” Silk chimed in after taking out another security camera so they could have a one on one, “What is it that you exactly are? That WE are?”
Athena looked over at Cerci with confusion clear in her head shaking. “Wha. . .what?” She asked not certain where her comrade was getting at.
“Let me rephrase it.” The Banshee leader draped her appendage over her shoulder in an act of support, “What is Maribel? Is she a Banshee?”
Athena tried to give her friend the answer she was looking for, “No. She. . .owns a Bed & Breakfast. She did anyways.”
“Ohh, how interesting. A Hybrid civilian running a cozy lodge.” Cerci’s cybernetic voice ran with a quiver, “That’s odd isn’t it?”
“A cozy lodge?” The huntress questioned.
“No,” Silk cooed as she leaned in closer, “Since when do we, Banshees, mingle with safety like that? We don’t have to play it safe like Hybrids have to. Where is your common ground with her?”
Bandit scanned over the floor as she thought of one possible similarity that she had with Maribel.
“None, yes?” Cerci remarked noticing the silence growing longer after the question like a canyon, “What spark could there be with you two?”
“But we danced, Silk.” Bandit defensively replied.
“Everyone dances. Do you know how many targets I have danced with? All with different intentions?” The Araqnian pointed out with a comforting rub of such strong shoulders drooping in defeat, “They give charming gazes, fill your mind with endless words, and even steal a peck or two in hopes to charm you. Why is that?”
Bandit’s thoughts were skewed still from the evidence gathered. She thought back to her times dancing in the rain with a Ytalogan and the glint in her eyes as well. “People dance with the people they like. That make them feel good, yeah?” That’s how Ashara always made it sound back then.
“Ohh, if only it were that simple.” Cerci chuckled with a soft chitter in her throat at such a naive look on things, “Dancing with another is just a way to get what you want. It’s a display of them wanting something from you. To bargain.”
Bandit had a face of uncertainty hiding under her veiled helmet, but she silently listened.
“Think about it from her perspective. You’ve hurled her into space with you and your bounty hunting antics. Why would a Hybrid, beings that already have their lives at stake in the slave market , want it to be at risk even more?” Silk suggested with a silver tongue, “You said she cried to go home, a sanctuary for Hybrids, and that was the happiest you’ve ever seen her. Whenever you came around, conflict would arise. You said she shoved you off of that Tiger she was engaged to. Atreus.”
“Atticus.” Athena spoke up at the bitter reminder of that whole scene.
“Something like that, cara.” Cerci shirked off a name she had no intention of holding on to, “But when tension arised. Who did she shove off first, the attacker or the one trying to defend herself?”
“Me.” Athena answered with a tone of hurt.
“And you want to know why I think that is?” Silk asked rhetorically as she was glad to answer such a question, “Because she has seen you kill countless times. It’s your job to take a life. If things had escalated any further, what would have stopped you from killing that man in self-defense?”
Athena felt a shutter in her body, “What? N-no, I wouldn’t have killed him.” She insisted as she stood up with a panicked tone, “I could have easily, EASILY, apprehended him before things escalated.”
“And Maribel didn’t trust you to do that.” Cerci pointed out with a hand on the one that gripped Athena’s gun, “Because we do this for a living.”
Bandit felt a jolt as she realized that they had indeed gunned down a whole ground of armed forces without the bat of an eye. She sucked in a wind of breath as she grasped how impossible it was for her and Maribel to have anything that was love when she was a grim, killing machine to those that witnessed her in action.
“She’s not trying to love you. She’s wooing you to get what she needs. Safety in this cold, dark universe.” Cerci whispered to her friend, “What she’s doing is literally saving her own tail.”

►▬▬▬◄ Maribel "Mare" Derson ►▬▬▬◄ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Mare listened intently to the sweet story told by this bubbly recruit in front of her. This Kami certainly sounded like the kind that Athena had described to her but her being flustered or with such an excitable person did not seem to match. It made her smile though seeing someone clearly enjoying a defined relationship when she was uncertain of what her standing was. Maybe Athena was going to grow tired of this unintended game they were both paying. Maybe that was why she had appeared so scary to her in the moment that voice came in. "That sounds adorable the way you talk about it. You both are lucky to have each other from the sounds of it."
She got quiet for a moment before realizing if Naomi was being so honest with her about this then she needed to be able to do the same. Especially since she would be the one that had to guide her around this place until Athena had returned. "I umm...Did enjoy kissing, Athena." The feline's tail and ears twitched nervously about as she was not expecting to have this conversation but did feel the relief in talking about it. "I think...I hope she felt the intensity as me. Felt like we both got something out that we needed from each other and I hope that wasn't it. For as much as we've butted heads in the past. I-" She stopped herself sort of a confession as the image of that ring ran through her mind reminding her Athena was still searching for another. "I guess I would like to know if she feels the same or if I should just help her find Ashara...."

—(••÷[ aтнena dorne ]÷••— Naomi’s eyes brightened with pride at Maribel’s positive words for her relationship with Kami. She indeed felt that her fortune didn’t amount in wealth, but in connection with her girlfriend. Even as Maribel talked about her doubts, the thought of returning to see Kamietta fueled her to succeed in the mission to see her girlfriend once more. Her focus shifted on a small insect on Maribel’s top before gently reaching out to pick it off her clothes. It was odd to her that she hadn’t picked up on it earlier, but she suspected it had blended in with the Hybrid’s own energy. Even when she picked it up, it hardly reacted to being held by her. Not even a bite or an attempt to flee. She wouldn’t bring harm to it as those small appendages and those curious little eyes reminded her of her mentor. “As far as I know, Blue has been gone for couple of years. There’s not too many traces to give anyone a lead on her.” Naomi explained as she brought the small creature to the window of the trailer. She set it down gently in the soil of the planter box hanging from the opening before shutting the opening. “I’ve once mentioned the name to Blue’s Second-in-Command and it resulted in an awkward silence between me and Kami for the rest of the evening. If even her best friend considers it taboo to bring up her whereabouts after all these years, the odds of finding her are slim.” The Keisidian turned to Maribel with a perplexed expression as she returned to her seat. Wonder was in her mind as she tried to be in the feline’s shoes of such conflicting turmoil. “Like I said, there’s a lot of different energy in this room from the night before. It’s not all yours, but also Bandit’s. That aura is like . . .drinking a warm cup of ginger lemon tea or the feeling of the sun at dawn after a rather chilly night.” The young apprentice ceased doing her best to decipher a multitude of feelings as best as she could. Amongst the sea of pleasance, bubbled a pool of disarray. Jealousy or maybe envy, but the chances of both could also be there. It was nothing that this yearning couldn’t wash over that receded back to Maribel. That negative emotion was from someone else. She nodded as if trusting this sixth sense of her’s like a gut feeling. “Miss Maribel, I may be new to love, but . . .” Naomi spoke up with a warm gaze, “If she did kiss you back, despite her search for Blue, doesn’t that mean she reciprocated your feelings for her?” Her smile was just as bright. “You’ve already made the daring jump and Athena followed. You can’t worry now about what happened at the cliffside or the fall. You need to think about how you land with her.” ========== Athena felt her heart sink as Cerci spoke these revelations to her. Her mind was full of doubts then, but now, amidst the casualties, she could feel a shade of skepticism casting over her. “But . . .it didn’t feel like that, Silk.” She insisted with a slight shake of her head, “It felt like more. You know what I mean, oui?” Cerci’s eyes narrowed as that tick was coming out in her comrade once more. An appendage twitched in slight irritation as her apprentice rid the Hybrid of her eavesdropping device. In between her fingers of her other hand, she fiddled with an emerald she had commissioned into a wristlet as feelings were brought up by the blonde huntress. She didn’t need to look at it, she just needed to feel the curves and texture of it for a moment. “Nonsense,” her tone was cold and sharp, “Need I remind you of the role of an inquisitor? If I went off of feelings, I would be nothing but a fool under my clients.” The Araqnian took a step away as she moseyed around Athena. She had to do a lot more convincing now. “This is what they’re good at, Cara.” “They?” Athena asked with a burrowing of her brows, “Who?” “Those of temptation. They’re like . . .succubi or the Kizzari of the Yondola System.” She ran her fingers along the control panels, “They nourish from others like a parasite day in and day out. Festering on you little by little until it finds the very core to feast on. They know that you can’t give them everything so you can live, but they will gorge themselves until they're bloated as they please.” Her appendages curled while her other hand clasped tightly onto the emerald, “Then when they have what they need from you, they leave your hollowed husk without a thought of looking back.” Athena looked confused by Cerci’s words as it was all too familiar with how this specific Banshee’s line of work usually played out. She used to hold herself to a high pedigree with just how vital her intelligence gathering was, but these metaphors and comparisons sounded like she grew to resent her talents. “You always said that nobody can resist desire because of the allure of what it can bring to you.” “And when you submit to it, it is bountiful. An opulent nectar even.” Cerci added on as her eyes narrowed in reflection as if lamenting on something or someone, “But. . .once the bliss of that peak is gone, the reality of the aftermath sets in and you live with the trail left behind. Temptation moves on to its next victim without a farewell in its wake.” Athena felt unease as the choir of humming technology around them played on. “Silk . . .is everything alright?” She asked wondering if this was all some subtle message for her former comrade. The Legion enquirer was silent as was bothered that the huntress had pried into her holocom to see the most recent query of her own desires once again ignored. She gave a long exhale as she despised when her hand of cards were so easily read, but she needed to keep up her poker face. “Are you giving up on your chase for Blue?” The human flinched and shuffled about at such a sudden question. “W-what? No.” Athena replied with a shake of her head, “Never.” “Then why are you so caught up on the feline?” Cerci said getting straight to the point, “Does the smallest ounce of attention make you fold? After all these years and still nothing to show, another woman appears with the smallest notions of affection to make you drop years of dedication?” The blonde felt as if her heart was in a vice grip of guilt. “I wouldn’t just stop looking for Blue.” She retorted weakly wondering if that was the perception she was giving off, “It’s just. . .” “Just what?” Cerci inquired, “The tracks are sparse? Nothing to follow? What of it? Excuses, excuses. Years of loyalty overshadowed by a flash of attention can't just waver like that.” Athena flinched at the accuracy of the deduction and cutthroat approach of her friend. Her gut wrenched as she was wavering at the possibilities so slim in her pursuit. Conflict was stirring in her once again as the closest form of family teetered with her scale. The amount of yelling and arguments it stirred from her seniors when she first spoke up on her desire to find the person she believed to be her soulmate. The riffs it caused with her mentor and the one who patched her wounded body again and again. “It’s. . .been a couple of years now,” the rogue admitted as her gaze was cast downward to the tiled floor beneath them, “And I’m starting to think she doesn’t want to be found. And if she does, she’s making it nearly impossible for me to do so. Finding one person in the universe is a lot harder than you think.” The assassin scoffed at such a weak mindset, “Since when is finding someone easy?” Cerci asked taking a step closer to Athena as if challenging her absurdity, “With such drive, you couldn’t find a visor resting right on your head. Have you really even been trying? The you I know doesn’t give up so easily. The Banshee before me sounds pitiful.” The huntress felt a tinge of her blood boiling as if countless dead ends on her hunts were being mocked. “I have been, Silk!” The blonde growled with disdain for this reprimanding, “You ever scoured the universe for the likes of someone?” The eyes of Silk peeked over her veil with a dull leer. “More often than you think,” her tone was slightly annoyed at admitting such even behind the hum of her voice modulator, “Which is why I insist you stop getting lost in this distraction, Bandit. You're only going to end up getting hurt again. Do you know how absurd it is to chase after one person when you are obsessed with finding another?” Athena’s fist clenched as her anger was drenched with a shame. The dousing came when thinking about the memories of Blue. The smiles and her laughter always echoed so often and when called out, they rang louder. She could recount the days and nights with every detail while those goldenrod eyes gazed up at her. She missed the embrace of the one who loved her every single time. Who stood up for her when everyone else kicked her back down no matter if they were of a higher status than her or some Bantrus that reminded her of her place. The thought of waking up at her Azura's bedside like she was supposed to was always the yearning dream. Under her helmet however, her sharp teeth grazed her bottom lip at the reminder that Maribel was still back at the trailer. Filled with distress on a planet foreign and hostile to her. Not only that, but by now she must have discovered Athena’s bed to be empty to make things worse. Those brief looks of fright on the hybrid’s face from countless times before and how bitter they were were still so fresh, but also the sweetest expressions the cat gave her were enough to make her chest flutter. The still picture of the Feline curled in worry on the bed of her confine reminded her that she was screwing around plenty on this moon base. Wonder hit her with the thought if the chef would let her hear it for being gone for so long of the day or it would be something sweeter. If the human didn’t like people disappearing so much then she shouldn’t make Maribel wait for her. It was clear to her that her ship mate needed her more in this instance and that’s what her commander would probably have told her as well. “Let’s just focus on what we came here for.” The huntress advised after a soft exhale, “The mission comes first.” There was a satisfactory glint in Cerci’s narrowed eyes. “I knew you’d come to your senses, Bandit.” She clicked with approval, “You’re not one to give up on family.” Maybe now she didn’t have to give out such a risky information to keep her comrade going. To unravel secrets where there was no guaranteed safety could compromise them both. The Araqnian could only steer Athena on the right path for now. She didn’t want to waste the ace up her sleeve while everything was still quiet. “Now let’s clean up the rest of the camp and get the key to the orbital strike.”☾ Location :: Gyokor-5 ☾ Company:: Cerci ☪ Wearing:: Combat Armor, Visor helmet ☪ Feeling :: Wistful ——————

►▬▬▬◄ Maribel "Mare" Derson ►▬▬▬◄ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Mare kept her focus on the wall behind Naomi uncertain of what she should say to all of this or even acknowledge the hope in it. She shook her head at all the affirming words as her eyes finally found their way back to her feet below. "You didn't see the look in her eyes when she talks about her. The way she gazed in hope at her-" She stopped herself short as she played with her fingers imaging that ring on the huntress' finger and the one that made her feel so loved. "Engagement ring from her."
Mare looked back up to Naomi with a look of disappointment in her previous actions. "I've also not made things easy for her in that department. She met my....well I guess now my ex. They didn't exactly get along and I didn't step up to defend Athena but tried to calm things down by trying to keep things neutral." She bit her lip and took a sigh. "Our kiss felt like something more but at the same time the times we've had something different going on there was always something going on. My restaurant, the missions and now this. Her effort to get more information from a former comrade. How are either of us supposed to know if what we felt when we kissed actually meant anything or was just the heat of the moment."

—(••÷[ aтнena dorne ]÷••— Naomi nodded while fixated on Maribel’s explanations and mannerisms. The feline’s fidgeting fingers and restraining lip bite made it clear there was conflict in her, but it was all piecing together for the Keisidian on what the solution to this case was. She just wondered if this Hybrid knew the obvious or was just hesitating on her end. Naomi’s marks flinched before trying to calmly swim along their hostess’s body, but did so while trying to hide underneath her clothes. As an apprentice, a junior to Mare, it felt rude to point out what was obvious to everyone aware of the duo’s relationship including the Hybrid. “While Mistress Silk has strayed me away from her methods in espionage, she has given me life tips that she deemed handy in situations like this,” The young Banshee explained with an uncertain glance away, “When I told her how I first felt about Kami , she explained to me that I was the-um . . .well. . .”Cat” in the game and Kami would be my “Mouse.” Someone always is always being chased in a relationship and the other does the chasing. I-I never imagined it would be used in the literal sense.” She giggled in a nervous manner at how awkward the phrasing was in front of a feline Hybrid. “It’s important to know who is who. Otherwise, you will both end up running in circles.” She continued on as she looked over the treats she brought over, “Ironically, I do not believe that the bounty hunter is the one doing the chasing, but you, Miss Maribel. She sounds a lot like Kami rather; looks intimidating, but a very warm spirit. Softer than most would expect.” There was an expression of certainty on Naomi’s face as she spoke before having some revelation on the matter. “I think . . .she is waiting on you. The fact that she reciprocated your action shows it, but there is some lingering doubt from a past encounter you’ve had? Kind of like children wanting to play.” She pondered with a tap of her cheek, “Of course they want to go out and build that relationship, but maybe she’s uncertain she will get harmed again. Maybe it’s time you show her that you really want to play Cat and Mouse with her? That you wish to get to know her.” The rookie banshee paused before her hands flailed in front of her in fluster. “Just don’t tell Bandit that I referred to her as a child! I learned a lesson from my . . .greeting with her.”☾ Location :: Gyokor-5 ☾ Company:: Cerci ☪ Wearing:: Combat Armor, Visor helmet ☪ Feeling :: Wistful ——————
