Sherry gave Jake a small smile before looking him over. He'd certainly got the worst of it, as far as the blood went. She mostly had some on her sleeve, and a little more here and there. But she sighed when Jake reassured her.
"Yeah. Probably." Really. Caeluis would have just ordered the others killed if they couldn't be helped, and potentially infecting everyone would have been dumb. A little blood on their clothes wouldn't hurt anything. Right?
She wiped at her face nervously. She felt gross. "At least... they weren't dead."
Another sigh. "What do you suppose is next?"

Heidi had been so proud of herself, man. But she was determined not to let her troubles last time happen again. No, even as poor little Noemi struggled, Heidi held strong.

Noemi struggled at first, pinching with cold fingers before looping it through and getting the hell away. She'd wait for Milo though, because there was no way she'd leave the sun hunter.

Milo made sure to actually do it right this time, concentrated and used his Power Ranger skills this time to tether the damn chain down to the floor.
And finally managed to do it (and was relieved that Noemi was able to even after a little bit of struggle this time). "Okay, we good this time, ya?"

Thankfully Noemi didn't have to wait for Milo this time, well at least for now. He got his line secured and all, allowing him to move away from the infected dude and towards the small mist and wrap his arms around her. And scoot her a little further way while they waited for Cee to press the button. Protection AND warmth! Hurray!

Noemi was just exiting the room with Milo when she felt body heat and the return of the sun shell. She breathed on her hands and like the sun, felt Milo's heat warming her. or her face was burning because of all the displays of affection. Sometimes she thought he did this to everyone, but anytime he was with her, it was only her, so she thought herself special.
Like his little kitten or something like that. She burrowed her head down into his arms. A moment later you could hear a muffled....
"No....one...no one got bi...bit right?"

Room 4 B - Tuck, Heidi, Cee, Noemi, Milo Finally. FINALLY. The 'patient' was wrangled and secured and she hit the button with a very satisfying fist slam. "GOTCHA b***h." She relaxed, taking a breather. "Youse wanna head back??" She was curious if the ask had tempered Tuck's mood.

They did it. Heidi gave a cheer, a much more excited one than before, and threw her arms around Tuck. One zombie down! "C'mon, c'mon! Let's hurry back!" Grinning at the others, Heidi reached for Tuck's hand to try and tug him along with her.
"Nah! I didn't get bitten. I'm good!" She answered Noemi cheerfully. Aw yeah, Heidi was flawless.

Room A"Yeah, let's head back. Nobody got bit, we're good." He followed after Heidi at a slow pace, jaw tight. He really wasn't in the ******** mood for any of this s**t, not anymore, and really just wanted to be ******** made it back to Room A just fine, and Tuck forced himself to just. Deep breath. Focus on the mission at hand. He'd sort everything else out later. It didn't really help.

Heidi swung their hands idly between them, occasionally looking up at Tuck. She frowned, concern clear on her face. She squeezed his hand, raising it above her head to do a playful little twirl, still watching his face as best as she could. Finally when they reached Room A she stopped, lifting his hand again to kiss his knuckles as she had done with her own earlier in the day.
She was not liking this mood of his. He needed to snap out of it before he got hurt.
Or worse.
"I think when we're done with this I'm gonna go back and make us lunch. Any requests?" She asked him with a bright smile in hopes of getting his mind off his grumpies.

What the ******** had he done wrong? He felt bad that he hadn't ******** texted anyone while he was gone, but he hadn't even ******** texted Heidi. Stormy hadn't said one ******** word to him, and Evan hadn't said anything either. Was he edged out, just like that? ******** disowned?
Bullshit.
Stormy could have said something. Anything. She hadn't said a ******** word, and he knew that she'd taken the loss of Nevada real hard, Evan had said as much - but Evan was his ******** Sun. His ******** brother.
"Ain't hungry. I'm finna go for a jog soon as we get outta here so long as nothin' goes south."
She hadn't said a ******** word. Evan hadn't said a ******** word. They'd just left him like he wasn't even needed anymore. Like he was no better than a pile of s**t on the bottom of their boots.
It was really, really ******** with his head, and he didn't like it.
And he knew Heidi was trying, but she was making s**t worse.
