Shoneah looked up from the pistol she was polishing, surprised at being addressed - and less surprised by the mispronunciation of her name. She had yet to find someone in this world who could say it properly.

"Hello," she said softly. "You may call me Silverbirch, if it is easier for you." She frowned slightly. "Forgive me, but ... I have forgotten your name."

"Miyuki," Shoneah repeated to cement the girl's name in her mind. She smiled again. "Thank you. You sounded as if you wanted to speak with me. Is there something I can help you with?"

She folded the cloth she was using to polish her pistol and put her pistol back into its holster so that she could focus on Miyuki and the conversation at hand.

Shoneah blinked in surprise and stared at Miyuki mutely. She didn't know how to respond. She was surprised that Miyuki would ask her such a thing, that she would be invited to live in the same home as them.

Her brow furrowed slightly. "I ... to be honest, I've never lived in a house, like most people," she admitted softly. "All my life, I have lived in a tent with my family."

She paused a moment, remembering her parents and her little brother who were probably worried sick about her, if they hadn't already given up on her by now. She took a deep breath before she went on.

"All I would need is a blanket and pillow for sleeping, and materials to care for my weapons and make more bullets," she murmured. "I have nothing else."

Shoneah smiled, but the casual way that Miyuki mentioned the years of travel ahead of them made her feel sick inside.

"No, no workshop," she said after swallowing hard. "A table, perhaps, but somewhere to sleep is enough for me."

What she needed were clothes, really. She still only had what she had come into this world with: her pants, boots and bustier. She had long since discarded her bloody blouse, since it had not come clean even after vigorous washings and the scent of blood would only attract predators.

Shoneah's lip curled slightly. She didn't have hopes of getting the tools she would need, and rather expected to have to make do with what she already had.

"Well, brass for casings, vials to keep the ingredients so that I can store them when I manage to find them," she began. "A good knife, and a metal tray."

She already had a mortar and pestle for crushing the materials into powder, and she could make do with a rock for a tray if she had to.

"Aside from that," she shrugged, "metalworking tools, though where you would find those I have no idea."

Of course, she had no idea that Andarien already had exactly what she needed, as she had been quite preoccupied with her lunch the day before when he had been showing Eron his wares.

Shoneah blinked, surprised that they would indeed have the things she needed.

"Andarien," she repeated, again concreting the name in her mind. "He's ... the one Eron is staying with, right? The elvish boy?"

She hadn't paid him much mind before, but now she wondered how busy he would be. If she recalled, he had gone off with someone else ...

"Ah," Shoneah murmured, disappointed. "Then I will have to talk to him later, when he comes back."

Well, she supposed her guns couldn't be too clean. At this rate she would have to take up the druid's offer to learn some magic, just to fend off boredom. Where she would start, she didn't know, but she had to do something to keep from going mad.

Then she frowned. "Your brother ... how does that work? You're nowhere near the same race ..."
