Sabin Duvert Near Xibalba, Tara, Lamia, Barghest Kamiki Near Seance, Canaan and Chandler Wynter Fury was no experienced fighter. She had no comprehension of what her opponent was trying to set up. Until now the mare had only had one serious run in with danger but it had been enough to leave a massive scar deeply imprinted on her psyche. Perhaps it was the reason that she was fighting so hard right now to drive these invaders out of the land that she had come to consider home. She felt driven to continue fighting as long as necessary for Canaan and Chandler to escape. Already there was a feeling of almost despair consuming her. Without being able to fly it seemed as if the only other option of escape was lost. Thick smoke was starting to cause her eyes to water. Even as she noticed that there were other figures arriving with answering the call to retreat issued by their leader the grey mare kept charging forward on a beeline course for Chemosh.
She heard his words and promptly ignored them intent on causing lasting damage to at least one individual.

He did NOT have time for this. He could feel the heat on his shiny black flanks, sweat glistened and his shadowy tail, normally billowing to it's own ghostly wind was now whipped this way and that by the hot wind and smoke. Taking the time to finish her wouldn't leave him enough time to flee, at this point, he had to wound her, and wound her well so that he could easily take off and not have to worry about her again. As she charged forward, horns ready to spear him right in the chest he hissed loudly and side stepped her charge, making sure she had no time to stop or out maneuver him, he rammed his shoulder right into her side as she charged by, at her speed, she'd do more damage to herself than his initial attack. He jerked himself free, gritting his teeth in pain, he had injured his shoulder in his attempt, but hopefully it was not in vain. He circled around, getting to higher ground and staring at her intensely, hoping she would not recover so quick as to stop him from rejoining his family in their retreat.

Stormfall & Tsunami have FLED/LEFT COMBAT This Soquili has left combat. They can re-enter (voluntarily) after 48 hours. At first Tsunami felt that she would still be on her own in assisting her mother to flee to safety. Her mother was semiconscious now which was a relief. It seemed as if Stormfall was still unable to rise to her feet though so it was a relief when Tsunami realized that Balrog arrived when he did. He spoke about getting Stormfall to safety and Tsunami couldn't agree more with her great grand-sire on that matter. As he lifted Stormfall onto his back and asked for assistance Tsunami moved nearer and shadowed the elder as he took off for the point of retreat.
She had come back home in the nick of time it seemed. She whispered softly as she followed Balrog, "Hang in there mom."Sabin Duvert Assisting Balrog and heeding Stormwild's call to retreat. (( Sorry for double quote. I figured I should add the header to my post )) Stormfall was uncertain as to why her breathing still remained labored. Each and every breath she took set her to brace for the pain that followed. She could feel the throbbing of her ear where something had bitten her and now she felt herself being lifted onto broad shoulders. Dimly, as if through a tunnel, she could hear familiar voices before the sensation of rising into the air overtook her. Her own wings were not working so it would seem as if someone was transporting her. But was it to safety or danger? Only time would tell. Stormfall's eye flickered briefly as she was flown over the land and she caught sight of the flames licking greedily at whatever they touched.

Wynter Fury has FLED/LEFT COMBAT This Soquili has left combat. They can re-enter (voluntarily) after 48 hours. At first Wynter Fury couldn't fathom why her opponent didn't move out of the way of her charge. Then it was too late to wonder that anymore as she collided heavily with Chemosh's shoulder. He had deliberately met her charge. There had been a sound of flesh ripping as she collided with him but from whom had it come from?
Stumbling awkwardly Wynter became aware of the burning pain along her left flank and cast a glance to her side and noted with a sense of detachment the almost jagged looking wound that now adorned her side. As she chanced a glance back towards the stallion she could watched him take a higher position. She could see blood coating an object that jutted out from just off his shoulder. Was it hers?
At that moment Wynter realized that she had bitten off more than she could handle. The enemy was gathering nearby in their own retreat and her wounds prevented her from flying to safety. It seemed as if the enemy would take the hidden path out of the herd. The half-kalona grimaced as she looked upon the enemy once more before backing away self-consciously. She could not keep fighting and find a place that would possibly protect her from the flames that grew ever nearer.(( She is fleeing but she's trapped on the ground. Also I apologize for a double quote. ))

Vortext has FLED/LEFT COMBAT This Soquili has left combat. They can re-enter (voluntarily) after 48 hours.
"Nooooo......"
Vortex has heard her grandmother's call to retreat. The flames were coming in fast and hot, quickly engulfing the fertile green of their homeland in his vicious, murderous flames. Her wings were unfurled, her lungs burning from the thick blankets of smoke that were billowing over the lands. She knew she had to leave; there was no choice. The fires were coming to claim her if she didn't, yet...
...she wasn't ready. This wasn't a victory. They hadn't beaten the Shadow Herd members into proper submission. Sure, they were running away, too, but that wasn't how it was supposed to go! She wanted to track down each and every one of them and pummel their skulls in with her hooves. She wasn't to see them bleed and cry out for mercy and beg for their lives!
How dare they! Just.... how DARE they?! This was there home, and they thought they could just come in and take it? Lead by someone that was supposed to be their blood, nonetheless. This kind of injustice made her quiver with rage, tears of anger and deceit rolling down her face. It wasn't fair and she wasn't ready to give up.
She stopped her feet on the ground, nearly too hot at this point to stand and reared up, giving a cry of rage and revenge into the air. She flexed her muscles and wrenched herself into the sky.
Flying high above the herd grounds, she found herself faced with a decision. Her Alpha had called her to the mountaintops; to the snowy and rocky peaks of their herd land where the flames would have a hard time reaching. To disobey her direct order would mean she would have to face consequences of course...
...but.
But a part of her wanted to follow the Shadow members. With her wings, chase them down relentlessly. Destroy them; destroy their home. They deserved to feel the sadness and rage and fury inside her; they deserved no less than the torture and heart-wrenching feelings that she was feeling. The sheer fact that they might now feel that was just killed her with the injustice of it all.
She began to struggles to breathe; the thick black smoke was climbing even higher now; another menace trying to take her down. Pillars of smoke clung to her like some kind of monstrous tentacles. She had to make her decision now, or else she would die either way, but in vain.
She bit down hard on her lip, her eyes stinging from both tears and the smoke. With a wretched call, Vortex turned towards the mountains and heeded her Alpha's call. It was the right thing to do.
For now.
This wasn't over; far from it. One day, Vortex would have revenge. Just today it wasn't meant to be. Dying in the fire wouldn't help anyone, and though it took every ounce of her willpower, Vortex would choose to flee today. Live to fight another day, as her father would probably tell her.((This isn't directed towards anyone in particular, just wanted to get her thoughts on the battle))

Onibi Storm has FLED/LEFT COMBAT This Soquili has left combat. They can re-enter (voluntarily) after 48 hours.
Onibi Storm had been watched the battle from various shadows tucked away throughout the herd lands. He had been out to secretly rendezvous with his unwinged mate, and by the time he had come back, the battle was in full swing.
He felt a swarm of conflicting emotions swell up inside him. He was always a quiet and mysterious fellow; he didn't hardly ever speak at all, or get involved with any of the herd conflicts or politics. But this was still his home, and his family.
Stormwild and Balrog's blood still ran through Onibi Storm's veins. He still had a nearly unshakable sense of honor, duty, and family. However, he knew what he was doing most days - sneaking off to spend lazy days with his secret mate - was wrong. He knew his family would be so disappointed in him and possibly even kick him out. Arguably, what he was doing with Calligraphy was worse in his family's eyes was worse than when Firestorm had brought home a Kalona mate - which is precisely why he hadn't dare approach his family with the news.
But this was different, wasn't it? He wasn't hurting anyone. He had no bared any wingless children, and he certainly wasn't inflicting this kind of pain on anyone.
Firestorm and his army were tearing apart his herd lands. His family. His friends. His made him angry, but also apprehensive. He wasn't used to this kind of turmoil or conflict. Something had to be done, and soon. Should he fight? What would he do? He had absolutely no fighting training or desire; and his angelic nature (no matter how ghostly and faint it was) still made him rather uncomfortable with the idea of violence.
His ears were pressed hard against his skull. The lick and flick of flames on the outside of his vision worried him even more. He knew his Grandfather would be upset with him for not fighting harder, but it was too late now. The enemies were fleeing and the fires were engulfing the herd lands with an alarming rate.
The burn and sting of the fires clutched at his chest, and he found himself worried about Calligraphy. Were the fires going to reach her herd land as well? He should go find her!
He took off and tried to fly above the flames. He knew if he went to find Calligraphy his family would be worried for him. They would think he was dead or injured....
...but if he told him where he was going then it would pointless anyway. He would have disappointed them anyway.
For now he would go find Calligraphy and make sure she was safe. His family was capable and would find shelter; and he would deal with the consequences later.
He looked briefly back at the mountain, silently praying to the Spirits for their forgiveness as he turned and raced down the mountain, off to try and find Calligraphy and her parents at the base near the Valley herd.

Taraxippus, Xibalba, Barghest, Lamia, has FLED/LEFT COMBAT This Soquili has left combat. They can re-enter (voluntarily) after 48 hours. Note: Taraxippus is maxed outThick smoke began to choke out and obscure the remaining figures still on the land. They had to move fast to retreat while the path was still safe. The fires were spreading rapidly and threatening to engulf the singular hoof-path escape route for those without wings.
There were a few familiar bodies scattered nearby in the herdgrounds: Pooka, Malfeas, and Darkstorm. The Thunderbird herd had left them for dead, and they might be if they continued to lay in the path of the fires. Taraxippus almost wanted to leave them to their failure, but instead nodded to his fellows who had gathered with wings, "Collect them, take them over the falls." He barked quickly, before calling out, loudly to whomever of the Thunderbird herd might still hear. He had to own this, as much as it infuriated him that this fire was robbing them of the potential, he also could not deny how many of his fellows had fallen. His heart was beating quickly, and Taraxippus was having enough time managing his ire and fury and this defeat.
But what was most important was that the Thunderbird herd did not see it as such "BY RESISTING US YOU HAVE ONLY SUCCEEDED IN BRINGING RUIN TO YOUR HERDGROUND ITSELF. YOUR TIME IN THE SUN HAS ENDED. EVENTUALLY, THE SHADOWS COME TO SWALLOW ALL!"
Truth be told, Taraxippus knew this was a ********. This wasn't the plan. His announcement was haphazard and he only hoped it made sense before he rushed his children and allies along the path, and to their escape.
Kamiki Squaring off against Canaan/Chandler Quote: Sorry, something shot my muse dead flat, but I really wanted to get this post in at the very least.
