Bacha
She kept glancing back toward the feeding tables. The last egg was taking its time hatching and she wanted to see her brother and his new green. T'was a lovely dark striped green too. C'mon already! She thought at the last egg. Everyone is waiting on you.

B'as frowned "She wasn't antagonising, she just stated her feelings and then left it at that" he said, then decided that if this young man wanted to try and pick a fight well he wasn't going to find it here, Casith had said what she'd wanted, he'd not apologised but he had told the blue's rider that basically he held no hard feelings towards his dragon. Sheesh... some people.
B'as didn't comment again, instead concentrated on making sure Casith was fed. Stealing the occasional glance around at the others that had Impressed, he was most surprised that there were a lot of very small dragons, there were two very small greens, not much bigger than the tiny blue that had bitten him. He didn't remember any that small, then on the other hand he had Casith, who was larger than even the most average blue hatchling. Again unusual.... but then again, who was to say what was average anymore.

Astriana got to the feeding tables and listened to some of the others talking. She heard a hiss from Hyweth and wondered what the golden dragon was so upset about. She turned back to see the one egg left and then one of the other weyrlings turned to look at her.
"They were talking about the buried dragon eggs before you came over,"Demanthra explained, continuing her feeding of Llyrith.
"Oh, Hyweth must have heard them. I was upset too, considering mine was one of them, but my beast craft training had me think of something. You guys need to lay off her, she was probably protecting them. Unless any of you are dragons, you have no right to say what kind of mother she is,"Astri said to Dea the first part, then the second part coldly in the direction of the others.
Remember, you do not have to be so guarded, mine. They won't hurt us, Astri's dragon spoke gently, as she was fed.
Mine, can I have more? Llyrith requested, Dea nodding her head and continuing his feeding.
"What if something appeals to you more than being a healer? My sister was a healer, but after weyrling training, she decided something else called to her,"Dea spoke to the others.

After finally pushing free of her shell, the muddy green shook pieces of egg from her head and stood up daintily. There. Now... She looked around the sands, at the pitiful offering of candidates that remained, wet and shivering. Rearing up, she fell on her front legs like she was stamping her foot. Hey. HEY! Where was everyone? Is THIS what she had to choose from?
With an irritated snort, she paced up and down the candidate line, highly agitated. She stared at each of their faces, and made sure they were looking back before she moved on.

The egg had hatched a green. An gorgeous and highly agitated green. Jemi grinned, watching the girl go up and down the candidate lines, peering in their faces, and acting rather put out. Sort of adorable.

Thank Faranth. The last egg was hatched and all of the others Impressed. Even with the slimmer pickings, hopefully the lack of distractions would see her Impressed soon and everyone could go and get warm and dry. What a day to decide to hatch! Dianno swore they had it out for him. They knew he didn't want to be here so they conspired to make his first Hatching a miserable one.

The scaled green gave another irritated huff, glancing first at the healers: ha, that boy was a weakling! She snorted, and turned away. They weren't worthy of her attention! She studied the remaining boys, pausing only to preen.
Ah! She'd caught sight of the girls! Hers must be there!

Wen watched, blocking out all the converstion behind him, hand still on Wyleth muzzle as he waited to see if the green would impress Jemi. If they would continue training together, though Jemi would crash any of his classes, he knew her that well. Still, they were watch partners, and he hoped she did impress.

There! The last egg hatched. The green might be last, but she was making an impression for sure. It didn't look like the boys really interested her except to admire her. Bacha waited for the green to make her move.

The scaled green made her way over to Balcha and sat in front of her. She stretched out over the sands, and moved to claw her, before heading over to Jemi. She pressed her head roughly against the girl before moving to watch the girl's reaction. She snorted. Really, this was what she had to choose from?

She blinked as the green sat in front of her. Bacha didn't feel any different, nor did she hear a voice in her head. With a squeak she skipped back as the green left scratches down her calf. Tch, if she didn't like the selection then she shoulda hatched sooner! Despite the blood swelling out it wasn't too bad. Bacha moved back into line with a wary look for the green now. If she came back she wasn't just going to stand still.

Jemi snorted, shifting her hips and feet to keep her balance. She looked over the green, judging and grinned, mouthing. 'That all you got?' Testy little thing. "You okay?" She questioned Bacha, keeping her eyes on the green.

The final green continued to pace, becoming more and more incensed. These candidates weren't admiring her! They weren't in awe of her, they were bored of her! Well.. fine then!! The green shrieked angrily, then returned to the middle of the sands. In the last moment, her voice turned from shrill to sad. She sank down in the wet sand, her large body curling into almost nothing. Wet, small, her muddy color blending into the sand, she looked quite the sad sight. She lay her head down, as though defeated, but opened one eye to glance back at the candidates. Were they watching her now?
She stood up agitatedly, a look of sheer distress in her face. She wanted them to think she was going to between. She wanted them to believe it was their fault.
she said to Hers, her mind voice showing glee instead of distress. she said, though her voice sounded wounded rather than angry.
Finally, the green moved forward, abandoning her game and coming to stand before Jemi. she told her, eyes spinning rainbows. she added, with a final angry shriek at the girls surrounding Jemi, forcing them to move aside.

Bacha gave a grin to Jemi, though the other girl couldn't see it. "Yeah it's only a scratch. Watch her though. Soon as she picks I can go have the healers look at it. Thanks for asking." And now the green was throwing a tantrum. Oh dear.
She did back off a bit when the green returned to Jemi and hissed. The teen gave a thumbs up in congrats.
