Silently, Maple was mulling over what the little cerberus had said, deciphering his words. Well, it was phonetic in sorts but still like he was learning to speak. It was oddly a little cute, precious even. The witch stared at the small boil flatly, normally she didn't do cute. But, at least she figured out his name was 'Aky' or something of the like.
But then a moment of dread was coming back to her, the next phase in this operation. It didn't seem to mean baking just yet but it was now one step closer to the failure that could be of this class for the young witch. Mixing and making the dough. Maple sighed and stared at all the contents and with shaky hands, began to work.
First it was putting them all together, it worked theoretically like putting a spell together. Which shouldn't be too hard for a witch, especially with one who's mother worked with potions. Right? Well, one would think so, but this was one witch with very little self confidence (and that potion class had still gone horrible). But, Maple was measuring and mixing away anyway.

Somehow, Maple was managing to get this dough to work out properly. Lumps were smoothing out just nicely, the ingredients congealing into one another into a nice consistency. (Something had to be going wrong here, she just knew it).

And then Maple finally got to her first hurdle. Getting the dough out of the bowl was a challenge in itself and didn't seem to want to lump out all nicely like it had all come together. It took some time.

But then it finally came out with a solid little plop right onto the table. Maple at first thought something was wrong with it with how it struggled out but seeing as how it wasn't turning into some like fierce creature or didn't burn her hands when she touched it... well, it seemed like it was okay. So, the little witch began kneading the dough as they were instructed.
Which also didn't turn out to be so bad, she'd seen her aunt do it several times with spookies and pies and she didn't struggle with it. Or just something was horribly wrong with her dough for her to be able to manage it as she was. But, soon enough it was time for her to wrap it and place it in the fridge with all the others. And somehow, Maple didn't end up tripping on the way there. Or the way back.
(It was going to explode, wasn't it....)

The Oven Dragon had been fairly easy, for some reason or another. Amarus did, in fact, love dragons of a sort. She found them beautiful. Avian ones, especially. What wasn't to love about them? The bones, the flight, the power. Dragons, to her, were like more powerful birds and Jack how she loved birds.
Regardless, the next step involved grabbing the ingredients and putting them together in the right proportions. Now this was more like it. Amarus put everything in nearly exactly as she was supposed to, and she freaking enjoyed doing it. Amarus loved to bake, and this would be no exception, even if it was stupidly Christmas-y.
She was still not over the fact that this was, in fact, the season for it. Oh, she was also still paranoid that they had laced the ingredients with Joy.

Edel was more than happy to move on from the ovens to something else for now, though she figured that they would have to return to them later on. At that very moment, the ghoul had decided that baking was probably just not for her at all, but she would see this class through anyway.
Mixing the batter seemed easy enough in the meanwhile. The ghoul picked up her ingredients and rolled up her sleeves, preparing to whip up a storm.

It had only been a minute or so into mixing the batter, but the ghoul's arm was already feeling sore. The batter itself was coming out nicely though, gaining a nice consistency with most of the lumps already gone.
Pausing for a second to stretch her arm and relieve the soreness, Edel took the handle of the mixing spoon once again and got back to stirring. It should be done any time now....

After she had put all the ingredients together, Amarus was fairly interested in the whisking part. Arm muscles? Yeah, no problem. She did it a little less efficiently than she had with the measuring of ingredients, because honestly she wasn't used to these weird recipes. They were a little unusual to her, and as a result she wasn't sure what it looked like to have over-mixed something or under-mixed it. Better undermix by a bit and hope to Jack it wasn't the end of the world.

There was a final flurry of quick stirring and it finally came to an end. Edel heaved a sigh of relief and drew the mixing spoon out of the mix, scraping the batter on the spoon back into the bowl. The ghoul was amazed at how much energy went into just the mixing of the batter, perhaps a little too much, she observed. Wrapping the mix up, the frost demon was happy to put it into the fridge for it to sit and return to her station for a well-deserved break

Although she'd just made the decision to whisk gently, Amarus started to put a little more strength behind it, and she whisked a little longer than she intended to. In the end, however, she felt fairly good about how long she'd spent making sure the batter looked right.
Okay, she may have also spied on the others a little.
As she set down the batter, she took one of her ribbons off and tied it around her mouth and nose. Then she undid it, put it back, and remembered she didn't need to breathe and ergo did not need to worry about inhaling Joy or some equally terrible contaminant from the batter.

In the end, Amarus stopped whisking in order to knead, and stopped kneading in order to cover it in seran wrap and then put it in the fridge. She assumed it would have to solidify overnight; this concept was not, in fact, new to her. It made sense.
Though why they had woken the dragon, she didn't know, if they weren't going to be using the oven for another night.
Still, so long as she wasn't poisoned, she didn't much care what happened either way.

"Cookies." Gabby answered, a few seconds after the teacher had just said cookie dough. Useful, isn't he? He wasn't the baker in their odd little family. So he wasn't happy about having to dislodge his arms from around Efflo, and actually do some baking. He stuffed all of the ingredients in quickly and started to stir almost immediately. Whatever he was about to make, he certainly wasn't going to eat. "Make sure yours are good, so we have something edible between the two of us." He whispered to Efflo. He knew that if he didn't pick up the pace, Efflo was going to chastise him for being so lazy. So Gabby tried to stir and mix a few more times...
