The ghoul had realised this too late as she was already lying flat on the ice, having been knocked down by a flurry or black and orange dashing past.

She had just one more shrimp left. Untying the previous one from the line, she picked up the plumper one from the cup to replace her bait -
but in a desperate struggle it wrung itself free from her grip, and landed in the pond.
Where it would meet its untimely demise, anyway.
