[Sun Division]"Yea I was expecting mean drill instructors and harsh teachers as hazards of 'new to the job'. Not giant goo spitting monsters." He pulled himself up, hopping slightly on his injured foot, and made his way over to the here. "Here ... try this" He popped open one of the little pouches belted to his thigh and pulled out a small handkerchief. "I doubt it's going to get a lot off bit it might get your face a bit cleaner. Do you have any idea what that is?" He motioned back toward the hulking creature.

[Sun Division]s**t was happening. Chaos and destruction weren't new to Deus, but in all the rumors and whispers she'd heard passed from hunter to hunter never had there been any mention of a giant, flying, glowing thing swooping in to attack. Possibly it was the shields that kept just such an event from happening. Just her luck this all had to happen barely 32 hours after she got hurt. She was next to useless, and she hated herself for it. A familiar face, or rather visor, caught her attention, and she moved very swiftly over to the newer trainee standing beside one of the harpoon guns. "Sol!" Good lord, did she hate that squeaking quality her voice had taken over the last two days. It sounded so wrong. Unfortunately there wasn't a whole lot of time to worry over what may or may not have been conveyed through her voice, not when there was a giant ******** monster eating the towns.

Solomon had been staring at the giant winged thing stomping around as he leaned against the harpoon gun he'd fired off and feeling rather useless for it. Should he have been trying to man another one? A quick glance around, he didn't see anybody else making any motions of a similar thought.
Which was about when Peyton made her appearance, looking about how he felt given how everything was going down at that moment. "Peyton!" he replied. "Gonna shoot the thing?"

She gave the harpoon gun a very wary look before shaking her head. "No. I think my main concern for the evening will be staying alive." She wasn't usually so battle shy, but then she wasn't usually hurt. She would, if it looked as though she was needed, but at that moment the rest of the island was doing a pretty impressive job of attacking.

"Well that'sa good idea at least." Solomon answered. "I'd say shoot one anyways, though. Made me at least feel a lil' helpful." he suggested. "Though these little ******** finicky as ******** hit the damn thing like 11 times before it would even fire, sigh.
"Better being here than out there, anyways."

"Does shooting them require hitting them?" It seemed like such an odd question, but she'd been watching the others, and it looked like there had been a lot of hitting going on. She was pretty sure that was the most she'd ever heard him swear. Granted, their shared time up to that point had been fairly limited. A glance out into the town had her offering a shaky laugh, and she took a small, unconscious step backwards. "Right."

Solomon scratched his chin. "Mmmm, I'm going to say yes in this instance..." he answered idly, leaning even more onto his harpoon gun as he spoke. "My general impression is that they want the thing to go away." Nodding sagely, he looked back to Peyton with a cheeky grin.
He couldn't help but feel bad for whoever the houses down in the town belonged to. He imagined that losing your house a few times a year was probably a very normal thing around there, though.
"I think I'm never moving down to that town."

She cracked a grin. It was small and short lived, but he'd actually managed to make her smile in despite the chaotic situation they found themselves in. "Yeah, I would imagine. It would be bad news if it got through the gate." Her voice was light, but there was nothing funny about what she was saying. Her attention flicked back down to the houses, and she wondered if Gale's house was among those still standing. She hoped so. "You and me both. I'll stay in the dorms. Smaller, but safer. Less chance for utter destruction."

"I can understand needin' yer own place iffin' your making a lot of noise with the Missus...." Solomon noted idly, "But really I'll give everybody earplugs if that ever gets to be something I need to worry about." Because right now he didn't even smell nice enough to hook up with the ladies.
The fact the 'I found something nice to rub my clothes on so I don't smell like funk' hadn't sent Peyton running was a very small victory. Maybe it didn't matter because everything smelled like exploding monster vomit. Either way, he needed to steal a change of clothing from someone at some point.
"Better safe then sorry f'sure."

"Honestly I think the walls are thick enough that that's not really an issue?" It was a question, because she wasn't really sure, but she hadn't heard of anyone bitching over their neighbors having loud sex. "I'd think if that was the case we'd hear a lot more bitching, cause from what I've seen there's an awful lot of bed hopping going on." They were outside, there was a breeze, the entire island smelled a little funky due to monster vomit.. Solomon had nothing to worry about where scent was concerned. "Frankly I think I'd put up with loud neighbors if it meant not having to risk everything I own getting destroyed.

"Maybe. Like I said. I'll buy earplugs for everybody if it's a problem on my end." Either for himself or the neighbors. Just had to ignore the sounds and everything was fine - then again he'd lived in enough apartments to have had a whole plethora of strange things happen.
Like ceilings caving in. Yiikkkeesss.
"But yeah. I'll take safety first." he motioned again to the giant creature. "Since it looks like Mothra and Godzilla's lovechild here is making sure everybody moves back into the dorms anyways."

SUN HUNTER
It would just figure that that the island would be under attack, when they were most vulnerable. With the sirens blaring, and the warning over the PA system; Kat quickly gathered her things and hurried on to group up with the other hunters.
Judging from the sound and steady quakes that shook the entire island, something big was on its way.
Finding herself directed towards the row of harpoons, along with all the other sun hunters, Kat got to her station, prepping the weapon for the attack.
Well, this ought to be fun.

Well, if there was ever the time to take her frustrations out on something, it was now. Kicking at the harpoon, it was no doubt going to take a few more good whacks before it fired anything.

Kicking at the contraption again, she could have sworn something inside rattled. With any luck, that wasn't the sound of the damned harpoon breaking. In any case, still she needed to fire this thing. Maybe one more good kick..

With one final strong kick to the side of the harpoon; Kat watched in satisfaction as weapon finally fired. Though, not much could be done for the immense throbbing in her foot having kicked the hunk of metal repeatedly.
