She trailed off, implying that she was fully capable of passing the time on her own. Before she could say anything else, Roy was already facing her. She scooted backwards a little, putting more room between them, then slid the cards out of the box. After shuffling them for a few minutes, she handed out eight cards each, then set the rest of them in a pile between them. Piling her cards together, she set them on her knee, then held out her fist. "Rock, paper, scissors to see who goes first?" she suggested, competition gleaming in her pretty green eyes. "... And it's not you."

King of Sirens "Music's like life, it can be filled with mistakes or with the most beautiful moments."As Roy watched her shuffle the cards, he tried to remember the rules for Go Fish. The object of the game was to... see who's cards added up to twenty-one first, right? No, that was Blackjack. Oh no, he remembered! He just has to guess which cards she has! Man, it had been ages since he played that. Dear God, it had been a little under two decades. The man was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the girl speak, though he didn't really hear her. He looked down to see her holding a fist above the palm of her hand, a universal sign of a game even older than Go Fish. He looked at it, then at the girl's eyes, hesitating at the glint. What was with that mischievous sparkle? What, did she think she'd win this game? Giving her a defiant look, Roy lifted his own hands. " You're on." he muttered. There was a count and a shake of three, then he held out his sign. "Only you can control that."

☸ Dana Klein ☸ "There's only one person who really matters to me..." Dana winced as she threw out rock, losing to the man's paper. She groaned, pursing her lips in disapproval before crossing her legs Indian style and sitting facing him. "Damn. I guess you get to go first." She fanned out her cards, picking out two pairs already. She set the four cards down, face-up, pairs together before looking back to Roy. Her eyes still had that glean to them, as if she wasn't even a little close to allowing him to win. She was preparing herself for a victory.
"I hope I don't get too worked up," she said, looking over the rest of her cards. "My brother always said I was too competitive for my own good." "... And it's not you."

Or should I remind you why we're here again?" He gave her a snide look before putting on his best poker face. It could probably be convincing, but there was just something about him that made him less intimidating and more laughable. Ignoring that, he looked at his deck again. He allowed himself a small smirk as he found a pair of fives and plucked them from his hand, setting them at the center. " Got any eights?" he asked. "Only you can control that."

He was smart-ish, maybe too smart-ish. She shook her head, relishing in how close he'd been. "Go Fish." Dana leaned back a little, looking over his cards a little more. "Got any sixes?" she asked, green eyes staring at him with her challenge.. "... And it's not you." Awesome nerd I don't even know how to begin to figure out her cards, so let's just figure out who wins right here and now. Even - She wins // Odd - He wins

He stopped when he heard her question and narrowed his eyes at her, reluctantly handing her the six. She was good, though he didn't doubt anyone that had a deck of cards in their pocket for who-knows-how-long. " Well, it looks like I win." the white-haired man said triumphantly as he placed his final set of cards at the center, thus emptying his hand and ending the game. " It was close, but you just weren't a match for me." he laughed arrogantly, relishing his victory. If things were like this then maybe he would've had his gummy bear and they wouldn't be in jail in the first place! So yes, he'd do his best to savor this moment! "Only you can control that."

☸ Dana Klein ☸ "There's only one person who really matters to me..." Unfortunately for Roy's pride, Dana merely shrugged and collected the cards, looking genuinely content with the game. "Good game, Herr Lane," she congratulated, a sincere smile on her pretty face. Losing wasn't that big a deal for her, having spent the past several years competing on national and international levels. If she got broken up over every loss, her wins wouldn't be as great!
Pressing the cards into an even stack, Dana held them up, then set them on the bench. "Well, there goes one hour. Ten more to go." She looked around the jail cell. It wasn't comfortable, she wasn't likely to sleep well. Looking over at Roy, she adjusted the coat, then sat up straight and started to shuffle the cards. "Let's play a different game, Herr Lane. What about Truth or Dare?" she suggested. "... And it's not you."

The least she could've done was wave fists around and yell, " No fair! You can't be that good! German words! German words! Sausage and beer 'cause I'm German!" and he'd be all, " Oh, but I am! Mwahahahahahahaha!" Like a bubble, Roy's dream was popped when Dana talked about how much time they had left. He yawned and scratched he back of his head, giving her a tired glare. " Couldn't we just sleep during that time? And don't call me Herr, that's weird. We're like the same age." "Only you can control that."

"There aren't any pillows or mattresses. I swear, German jail cells are better furnished." Dana shook her head, then drew her legs up and leaned against the wall. "We're the same age? You look so much older than me." She chuckled a little, closing her eyes and smiling tiredly. "... And it's not you."

You can lay down on that bench and try not to let your hair fall on that puddle - Yeah, okay, it's pretty bad." he slumped. " But it's only a night. I'm sure you'll be fine. You could use my coat as a pillow, or you could use it as a blanket and put your head on my shoulder, I don't mind." He didn't mean anything romantic, and his tone made that clear. It was just a friendly gesture, and he was sure Dana would understand. " I'm only twenty-two." Roy chuckled when their ages were brought up. " I would've guessed you were a high schooler when we first met, but you're more mature than that. College student?" "Only you can control that."

Deciding that it would be a better idea to have a blanket and a pillow, Dana scooted over to Roy and leaned her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes again and holding the coat closed tightly around her. One eye peeked open as he spoke, and she nodded as her eye closed. "Yes, I go to the University of Copenhagen. I'm entering into my third year this coming fall. I'm twenty, but my birthday is in August, so I'll be able to drink in America for about ten days before going back to Denmark where there is no legal drinking age." She chuckled a little, too cheery to be that cross. "What about you? Are you in university too?" "... And it's not you."
