Alexis shrugged, shifting his shoulders slightly as he evaded Aoi's tail by a inch or so. "Nah. I honestly wanted to see if your skin was as soft as it looked," he said to Aoi with a teasing grin. Ariel, had she had human legs at that time and had been on land, would have stumbled at Alexis' words; regardless she blushed almost as crimson as her hair.

Aoi really thought that she'd hit Alexis with her tail, but watched as he got away just barely. "I missed..." she sighed in a playful way, just before hearing Alexis speaking. "Say huh?!" she asked, her face turning a brilliant pink at his words. She looked over to Ariel and saw that she was bright red in the face too and she raised an eyebrow. "You all right there? Your face is as red as your hair." she asked Ariel, curious as to why she had a red face too. She figured that it was more than likely what Alexis had said, but Aoi had thought that comment was for just her and not the both of them; although she was a slight bit jealous and sometimes didn't share friends too well with others.{{ooc:}}

Alexis, as he shifted in the water to face the surface, heard Aoi speak to Ariel, but didn't really listen either to Aoi's question or Ariel's reply. He caught the word 'romantic', though in reality he wasn't all that familiar with romance. Ariel took a deep breath, blinking a few times as her facial color slowly reverted to its natural lightly tanned color. "Does he know that isn't exactly subtle when being romantic?" she said quietly, a bit amused.

Aoi was awaiting an answer from Ariel, still, and once she got it she looked up at Alexis before replying. "I don't know. I've only just met him. I don't really have any problem with the things that he says, though I guess that being away from home for so long and being deprived of any sort of attention can make a person take any attention that they come across. However, I know to be careful at least. If not I'd probably have been killed or whatever before now; seeing as I've been running for around two years now." She looked around before she toyed with her hair, letting it loose from the twisted braid and having it flow behind her. "That's better. I don't know why I even tied it up in the first place." she said, letting out a soft chuckle as she looked around, trying to see if she knew where they were at.{{ooc:}}

Alexis could tell that both mermaids were watching him as he swerved to the side, narrowly evading the rocks ahead as several anemones jerked into the rocks as if surprised by his rapid movement before he noticed the beach that was their destination ahead; there was, however, a coral reef between them and the shore with several areas where the rocks cleared the surface. Ariel giggled, tilting her head as she glanced at Alexis, admiring idly how his dark hair trailed behind him where it reached the middle of his back. "He is kind of cute, though... where's he going?" she said in confusion as he swerved around the rocks ahead into open water.

Aoi glanced around some more and she noticed that Alexis had swerved off and she wondered just where he was going. Although she soon guessed that they must be close to the beach, since Alexis seemed to know right where he was going. As she started going after him she heard Ariel speaking and the words rang out in Aoi's head. "I'm guessing that he found the right way to the beach. And you'd probably be best to keep things like that you yourself missie." Aoi said with a slight huff, jealousy starting to creep into her voice, before taking off after Alexis.{{ooc:}}

Alexis exhaled as he looked up at the surface, which was clear with a blue tint. He blinked as he heard a muffled sound through the water that he didn't quite recognize. Ariel laughed at Aoi's words, shifting her shoulders as Ginrai brushed over her shoulders. "I don't know him well enough to think of him as a suitor or something similar yet," she said teasingly, amused at Aoi's jealousy. She shot after Aoi and Alexis both, before blinking as she heard an unfamiliar sound filtering through the water.

As Aoi made her way to Alexis, she heard something that she did not recognize and stopped, tilting her head to one side. "What's that sound?" she asked, not sure if either of the others would know what it was. Then she said to Ariel in a whisper, "I don't know him well enough either, though that doesn't mean... Oh forget it... And sorry..." she said apologizing for her attitude, knowing that she was probably getting riled up over nothing, before she returned to listening to the sound that was filtering through the water.{{ooc:}}

Alexis cocked his head as he focused, letting his tail revert to his legs before swimming towards the surface. "I don't know, but I'm going to find out," he said. Ariel laughed quietly, hugging Aoi to her side with one arm playfully. "It doesn't bother me at all; you get used to a bit of rivalry when you have a big family," she said with amusement. She saw a momentary ripple of light and thought it was a reflection before she blinked, seeing Alexis swimming upward towards the surface with human legs. She didn't realize her jaw dropped open in surprise at the sight.

Aoi heard Alexis saying that he was going to check out what the sound was, right before she felt herself being hugged playfully by Ariel. "I was an only child and with no other little girls in the village, after the raid, I was pretty much alone and didn't have to fight for anything. I guess that I was a bit spoiled... Heh heh... Ahem…" she said, sighing, embarrassed that she admitted that to anyone. She looked up at Alexis and noticed that he had human legs and she happened to look over at Ariel, whose mouth was agape with surprise. 'Oh this’ll be good.' She thought, a smirk creeping onto her face as she pulled from Ariel and swam after Alexis for a ways before turning her tail to legs as well; swimming off just as she had done earlier.{{ooc:}}

Alexis surfaced after a few minutes of hard swimming, taking a deep breath of the air before blinking in the sun, momentarily dazzled as it shone almost straight into his eyes since sunset was a few more hours away. He held up a hand, blocking the sun out of his eyes as he noticed what he thought was called a 'band' onshore, though he didn't recognize the music playing. He had never seen a band like this before, considering he rarely even got to listen to music. Ariel saw Aoi swim upward before a flickering corona of light trailed up Aoi's tail as it turned into a pair of legs, though slimmer and a bit paler than the boy's legs. Okay, what's going on here? she thought with confusion; she had gotten a bracelet from a friend of hers and wore it at that moment, but didn't know where it had come from.

Aoi kept swimming towards the surface and when she reached the surface she broke through it and took a deep draft of air. "I love the air and sun. Father needs to come up here sometime, though I doubt he ever would. Oh well, he'll just never realize what he's missing." she said as she treaded water. She looked below the surface to see if Ariel was still where she had been with her mouth dangling wide open or if she was coming after them. 'Perhaps seeing the two of us sent her into shock? Though if she knows any better, then she'll know that sitting idly in open waters can be hazardous. Especially if there are sharks or worse, Shark men lurking in the nearby waters.' she thought to herself, still grinning some at the redhead's shocked expression.{{ooc: Oh, just to let you know if you've not seen my status, I just got work and will be starting on Sunday. I'll try getting on as much as I can, but I can't promise that I'll be on as much as I have been. I hope that'll not be too much of a problem. sweatdrop }}

_Hoshiyuri_ OOC - I don't mind, trust me, I know the feeling since in two weeks I'll be doing a church function all weekend. I am, however, still looking for a paying job.... which I haven't been able to find yet. gonk Alexis shrugged. "His loss; just because he fears what's different don't mean he can't pull the mountain out of his rear end and actually think for once," he said with a chuckle. Ariel shook her head and sighed before she followed them up to the surface. Her eyes widened as she saw the band of humans playing, having never seen anything like it.

Aoi nodded at Alexis as he spoke and she turned her attention to the band that was playing. She'd never heard anything like the music that was playing right now, but she thought that listening to it would be nice. "I haven't ever seen anything like this before. I would love to go and see them closer, but that more than likely wouldn't be such a good idea... I wouldn't want everyone and their brother seeing us, especially not you Ariel, since you still have your tail. And anyways, I'd have trouble walking, since I'm not used to having legs just yet..." she said, a bit of embarrassment peppering her tone.{{ooc: I was actually looking for references and had a job offered to me instead. I seriously wasn't expecting to have a job drop on me so quickly. XD but hey, I'm not going to complain about it, since it's going to be getting me some spending money lol}}

Alexis grinned as Ariel swam towards the coral spires before settling on one, looking as if she were simply sitting supported by a float in the water while watching the band with a fascinated look on her face; he wasn't surprised she'd noticed what he had about the coral being high enough for them to sit on and not fully expose certain parts of themselves. "If you aren't used to your legs, I can always carry you; I don't mind doing that for you," he said, blushing slightly.
