Vyntyr finally managed to drag herself out of bed and into the garish light of day, well-rested and unusually content. She went through her morning ritual and, once she was clean and put-together, she began her day in earnest, taking a seat on her floor and breathing deep. She closed her eyes and began to ponder where the day would take her. She thought of all the things that she needed to work on, and tried to prioritize them. She needed to focus on her physical abilities, obviously; that was basically the entire point of her private lessons with Master Laro. But where to begin was the question.

Vyntyr felt herself sink into a deep, focused state and saw her path laid out before her. She wanted to go for a walk. A trip into the wilds of Tython to exercise her new pain-free status and to explore. Many of the initiates roamed Tython and explored while deepening their connection to the Force; besides, a Jedi was not meant to spend their entire lives cooped up inside the temple, insulated from Nature, which was a part of the Living Force. No, they were encouraged to explore, though carefully, the world of Tython. They could rent a speederbike to go explore, and if they ever got into any trouble, they could simply call for an emergency shuttle to come pick them up.

So that is what Vyntyr would do today. She would celebrate her accomplishments with an adventure. She felt good about it, and progressed through her alchaka with good spirits before heading down for breakfast. She ate a good breakfast and returned to her room to pack some things she might need. Some ration bars for food, a little bit of water, and she was about set. She grabbed her practice lightsaber and took it down to get it charged before she left. If she'd learned anything from watching that Mirialan boy fight, it was to be careful that your lightsaber was charged. She took the time while her battery was charging to focus on her healing again, ensuring that her body was going to be in good condition for her journey.

Vyntyr roused herself when her lightsaber was finished charging, and replaced it on her belt before heading down and out of the academy, proceeding to the bike checkout droid and updating the map of the area on her comlink. She checked one of the bikes out with the value of her name and mounted it, rushing off down the paths into the forests of Tython. She did not know where she was going, but she opened herself to the ebb and flow of the Force, allowing it to guide her actions and take her where she was meant to go. She would continue traveling until she'd ended up where she needed to be.

Vyntyr continued traveling until she'd found herself off of the beaten path, winding down a much smaller trail that proceeded through the trees until it had narrowed altogether too much for Vyntyr's speederbike, and she was forced to abandon the vehicle as the power of the Force drew her inexorably forward. She was powerfully drawn forward, and could sense a path through the trees. She marked her location on her map so that she could find her way back, and checked to make sure that her comm was keeping a running record of her path through the trees, and, assured that she would be able to find her way back to the academy, she started pressing through the growth.

The pull of the Force on her was overpowering. She was not even conscious of the passage of time as she deftly moved through the trees, coming upon a small clearing in the foliage before she knew it. There was a large outcropping of rock above her head, built into the wall of a cliff's face, and it was there that the Force was compelling her to go. Vyntyr gathered the Force inside her body into a strong mass and sent it blasting toward the ground, aiming to propel herself into the air to reach the outcropping. It was a higher jump than she was used to, but it's not like she didn't have all day to get up there.

Okay. Well, that hadn't worked. Vyntyr had barely cleared her normal jumping height. Apparently her body, while relieved of pain, was not miraculously recovered from the lifetime of atrophy she'd endured. Oh, well. She had time. There wasn't any rush to get through this; she had all day, and this was just a small adventure, anyway. A celebratory challenge, not a grueling task or punishment. She laughed and shook her head, gathering the Force again and focusing it into her legs, aiming to strengthen her muscles and preparing for attempt number two. She definitely needed to practice her physical abilities, it seemed.

There we go. She cleared the height she needed for the jump (some distance, truly) and landed softly at the outcropping, finding herself somewhere in the middle of the stone cliff face. There was a large stone on the outcropping, pressed against the face of the cliff, but not part of it, as if it had fallen and was merely leaning against the stone surface of the cliff. Vyntyr knew that she had to move it. She took a deep breath. It would be the heaviest and biggest thing she'd ever lifted, but she could do it. She knew she could. She imagined the Force surrounding and supporting the stone, willing it to move away from the cliff face.

The stone began to move with a heavy, crushing grating sound as it was wrested from its resting place, and Vyntyr moved the massive stone to the side, allowing it to fall and crash into the earth at the bottom of the cliff face with a mighty sound that sent animals scattering in every direction and shook the ground beneath Vyntyr's feet. That stone had been enormous. Maybe she'd grown more than she'd thought during her recent training. She certainly felt changed a great deal, and if her performance today had showed her anything, it was all in support of that conclusion. She sat down and attempted to recover her stamina before she'd continue.

Vyntyr could feel her connection to the Force deepening as she meditated. Something about her surroundings made it easier to find her center. It must be the closeness to nature, as opposed to the synthetic uniformity of the academy. As wonderful a place as the academy was, it was not as close to the will of the Force as the controlled chaos of nature. Vyntyr breathed the moist air and allowed herself to focus on the noises of the forest as they started returning after the sound of the crashing stones had scared them off. She had a soft smile on her face as she rested, something that had once been alien to her, but was becoming more and more commonplace.

Sufficiently rested, Vyntyr took another deep breath and stood, stretching her muscles as she returned to the real world. She looked at the aftermath of her exercise. She peered into a hole in the cliff's face. A cave, that had been hidden by the massive stone that she'd just moved. So this was what she'd been looking for. The girl nodded and drew out her training lightsaber, igniting it and holding it aloft to allow her to see the inside of the cave, albeit with a green overlay. It was not an overly deep cave, instead it resembled something of a room, with a small hollow in the center of it. It was a basin that was large enough to be seated in, and Vyntyr looked around. That's all there was. Why had she been drawn here?

She took a breath. Okay. Well, maybe the Force would give her the answer. She took a seat in the basin and began to clear her mind, allowing the world to enter her mind freely.

Okay, then. She was relaxed, and she opened her mind to the cosmos, drawing a deep breath and allowing herself to blend into the background of the Force, allowing it to wash over her and open her senses to the world around her. It was an odd feeling, in the beginning, being isolated from everything and yet to see it more clearly for your isolation. She likened it to being behind the glass in an operating room. You can see everything clearly, and because you are not a part of the action, you might be able to observe things more clearly. Hopefully she would be able to see why the Force had led her here.

And suddenly everything in the universe made sense. She was directly on top of the answer. It was so close to her that she could scarcely believe that she hadn't seen it before. It was so obvious! She stood and stepped back. The basin was not a basin. It was a door! The girl looked down at it and tried to figure out the function of the device. She closed her eyes and stretched her mind's eye into the earth. There! A small switch, built beneath the floor of the room. She wouldn't be able to reach it with her hands, but she could certainly reach it with her mind. She focused the Force to will the switch to move.

Vyntyr felt the stones grating underneath her feet as the hidden switch was maneuvered, and felt the floor begin to shake as the basin in the middle of the room slid apart, exposing a dark hole in the bottom of the room that, when Vyntyr peered inside, did not seem so deep. She kicked a rock into the hole and it touched solid ground not too far down. She nodded and took a soft step forward, trusting that the Force did not lead her here by accident. This was certainly no ordinary cave, so what reason did she have to suspect that the Force had not intended for her to venture within?

There was a short tunnel underneath the cave, carved roughly out of the stone. Were Vyntyr claustrophobic, this would be a nightmare. Thankfully, she wasn't, so this was not a terrible experience. The green light of her saber lit her way as she slowly progressed, before reaching the termination of the hallway and coming on a small underground chamber, round and built around a small pedestal at the center. Vyntyr's brow furrowed as she looked at the pedestal, where there sat a small chest. She advanced and attempted to open the lid, but found that it would not move. She huffed a little, thinking. Well, the switch to open this place had been hidden, who's to say this one wouldn't be hidden, too?
