That was a good question, but Miyuki could only shrug since she didn't know the answer to that. Instead she followed Kyrie back out to see what the basket was all about.

Sure enough, Wren and the man was still there.

The man had just arrived at the campsite, and Wren was trying to make herself understood. She was gesturing at him and the basket, and she looked very relieved when Miyuki returned with Kyrie.

"I think I got a bit too used to everyone speaking Common Tongue in the city," she chuckled as she stepped aside to let Kyrie take over for her.

"And I'm sure this gentleman will learn eventually as well," Kyrie murmured softly, eying the basket. Then she changed languages and began to speak with the man in his own tongue.

At first, Miyuki was going to question what Kyrie meant, until Miyuki realized that with Caras Galadhon's diversity, Common Tongue was probably required in order for everyone to understand each other.

Though she did have faint memories of people knowing Ancient Tongue as well...

After only a moment, Kyrie turned to Wren and Miyuki and smiled at them.

"Well," she chuckled, "it seems his wife has decided that since it is their son's fault that we are stopped her unexpectedly for a few days, that they should supply us with a few things."

She turned back to the man, who smiled and knelt down to open the large basket. Once it was open, Wren leaned forward with Kyrie to peer inside. It was a very full basket: there were loaves of fresh bread, a small basket of eggs, two cheese wheels, dried fruit, smoked meat, herbs and spices in baskets and jars, and even several small cakes.

Miyuki blinked taking stock of the basket, she hadn't expected that. There was enough provisions to last them a while, while they were here. It was also, kind of nice to have fresh food. Best of all what they didn't finish (probably the herbs and spices) were very travel worthy.

"Wow.. .thank you," Miyuki murmured even though there was still that pesky language barrier.

"Oh, wow," Wren murmured, her eyes growing large as she took in the sight of all the food. She smiled broadly, first at the man, then at Kyrie. "Please tell him thank you very much, from all of us," she requested.

Kyrie did just that, grinning as she did so. The man returned the smile and bowed low to the three of them. Kyrie asked him a question then, and this time it took a while for him to reply, all the while gesturing towards the forest as he answered.

Miyuki tilted her head, her eyes going to the forest. She wondered what Kyrie had asked exactly. It could be anything from where did they live to where did they get such a bounty.

Despite not understand, she did pay attention to what was being said.

After a few minutes, the man seemed to finish his explanation, and Kyrie nodded at him. He smiled at her, then waved at Wren and Miyuki, and then he turned and headed back towards the forest.

Wren glanced at Kyrie curiously. "What was that about?" she asked.

Kyrie watched the man disappear into the trees. "He and his family live in the next town we were going to visit," she replied distractedly. "His wife insists that they put us up when we arrive, so he told me how to find their house."

She was slightly skeptical that all ten of them would fit into the man's house, but regardless it was a nice offer; and who knew? Maybe they would all fit after all.

"Would we even all fit?" Miyuki asked.

There were ten of them, though she supposed some of them could stay in the house in question. She sort of imagined they were either stay in an inn or they would camp outside of the town.

They could easily camp outside of the town.

Kyrie shook her head, more out of disbelief than certainty. "I doubt it," she admitted aloud. "Who would have the space to bed ten extra people? Or even half that number? Still, it would make things easier, I suppose ..."

They wouldn't have to worry about payment for rooms, after all ... and it wasn't as if they would be staying long.

"I guess we can only wait until we get there," Miyuki murmured with a shrug.

She knew the average person didn't have enough room to house ten extra people, so she didn't really expect there to be that much room.

"Indeed," Kyrie murmured distractedly. Then she shook her head as if to clear it and closed the basket again. "Come on, let's bring the spoils to Lancaeriel. I'm sure we'll be feasting tonight."

She grinned and picked up the basket, and headed for the tent Wren and Lancaeriel were sharing.

Thoroughly distracted by the events thus far, Miyuki followed Kyrie to the tent where her teacher was. She wondered what Lancaeriel could make with all of that, it was by far the most fresh provisions they had since they started traveling.

Maybe she would ask Lanceriel what all the spices and herbs were because there were a few she didn't recognize.

When they entered the tent, Lancaeriel was sitting cross-legged on her bedroll, a leather portfolio on her lap, chewing thoughtfully on a the back end of a wooden pen as she gazed at the papers on her lap. She glanced up briefly when she felt the breeze from the tent flap opening, and then she blinked and stared at the three who entered, and the basket Kyrie was holding.

"What's all this?' she asked, setting her pen and portfolio aside.

Kyrie grinned and set the basket carefully on the ground near the wall of the tent. "Fresh provisions as we haven't seen since we first left Caras Galadhon," she replied.

She opened the basket, and Lancaeriel's eyes filled with wonder as she looked over it all.

"Where did this come from?" she breathed, her gaze still taking stock of the provisions.

It was Miyuki who explained about their visitor, and how he brought them the provisions. She also included the explanation about how his wife insisted they stay with them when the group makes it to the town.

She paused after she was done explaining and scratched the back of her head sheepishly, "I still don't know his name...."

She looked to Kyrie, since Kyrie would know.
