That could have gone better. The Pikachu's efforts likely would have been far more intimidating were he not rolling about on the floor in pain however. Finally managing to shrug it off the electric mouse would spark briefly before darting back, running along the gears outer edge as fast as all four legs could manage to carry him. Plan B was simple. Run, and quickly.
By sheer luck, the Larvitar had managed not to get caught by the Growl. Instead, the Pikachu leapt to it's feet and then took off. The Larvitar studied the way it was darting around, hoping to catch a pattern. Watching the pokemon for a couple of seconds, he took off himself. The Larvitar began darting, waiting at the right moment. Just where he expected the Pikachu to land, he charged aiming to Bite down on his opponent once more!
Once more Ryuu's mouth would take a piece of the Pikachu's tail, although this time the mouse was still very much attached to it. Suddenly tethered to a rock Pokemon the Pikachu would be forced to an abrupt halt, striking the ground with a loud CLANG. Caught in such a situation the Pokemon immediately did what his kind always did under these circumstances. Without even a thought the Pikachu would release a reflexive Thundershock!...too bad he didn't really consider the type of his opponent.
The Larvitar had two options. He could either try to move away... but there wasn't really too much point to doing that. The ground pokemon saw the sparks of electricity and wasn't worried. It wouldn't bother him in the least. The best idea would be to simply bear it and Bite down harder, hoping to deal some more damage while he was close and had his opponent down!
Faced with an opponent he could not electrocute the Pikachu would be forced to bite the bullet. Grabbing the end the mouse would literally rip his tail out of the Larvitar's maw, leaving a big chunk behind and fleeing for his life, leaving a splatter and trail of blood behind him.
Spitting out the piece of flesh, the pokemon resisted the urge to shudder. Ugh, that was disgusting. He was a dirt eater, not a pokemon one. Ignoring the bad taste in his mouth, he aimed to go slam into the Pikachu once again with Bite!
Once again Ryuu's teeth would sink in to the Pikachu's tail, but this time as he came away it would be to find the electric type spasming before hitting the floor. Blood flowed rapidly from the wound. It would seem this time the Larvitar had managed to open up a major artery in the Pokemon's tail. Within a surprisingly short amount of time the Pikachu would begin bleeding out, it's blood staining the gear on which they sat...and then suddenly it stopped. An odd light would surround the Pokemon and it would simply vanish. Well this was a gym after all, and more so one run by an associate of the Guard Class. Little doubt Snow had this place equipped with the tech needed to keep her Pokemon from dying!
Momo surprisingly had remained calm during the battle despite all the bloodshed. The Spinda girl had pictured this as a game! Wow, that was great of Ryuu to help style the Pikachu's tail! Now it was short and stylish! When the pokemon began bleeding out, the grin was still pasted on her face brightly."It's paint! The Pikachu's getting ready for the big ball!" she exclaimed happily, watching as it was surrounded in a green glow and then vanished. She was given some coins and then the robot vanished. It was time to start spinning amongst the gears again! With a gleeful "Spin!~", she took off once more!
Spinning off along the gears Momo would notice too late that she had gone and spun the wrong way! Rather then advancing forward the Spinda would manage to drop down a gear, placing her back to where she'd started after falling. She was no closer to her goal, and if she kept this up she'd never make it there!
For some reason, Momo was having the worst luck when it came to this gym. However, she remained completely unfazed, or oblivious to the fact, that things weren't going well. The Spinda girl continued spinning along, despite the constant backdrops closer to the entrance.
Surprisingly enough this time the girl would find herself in the reverse of an earlier predicament. Stepping on one gear in particular the entire thing would suddenly thrust upwards like a piston, spinning rapidly and tossing her off before descending back in to the depths. She was back on the first floor of the gym where she was supposed to be, meaning she was back to half the distance!
[2 Battles or Appropriate Rolls to reach the Gym Leader!]
Luck had been on her side. As she spun towards a gear, it helped her reach the original place she had started. At least she wasn't going backwards anymore. The Spinda began to spin once more, humming slightly to herself. This was still one huge game for herself!
Unfortunately for Momo another spin and she'd nearly collide with the door. Rather than forward she'd once again gone backwards...and she really didn't have much farther back she could go!
Momo spun to a halt looking confused. This wasn't the right direction... The girl looked and saw that the door was close by. Really close, actually. Shaking her head, she then turned in the correct direction. Okay she could definitely do this. The Spinda started twirling, spinning hopefully in the right direction!
KA-THUNK. A dull ringing sound which was created when the little girl's head bounced off one of the Gym statues by the entrance. It would seem the child truly was a Spinda at heart if not in body...she was certainly about as coordinated as one!
