Della watched Satan as he spoke. Charon, as he had been called, waited for them on the boat. She saw Damien dangling like a ragdoll in Satan's grip and that just made her all the more angry. Ariell had opened her eyes and was at Della's side in an instant. She held Della's hand which was clutching the dagger. They stepped on the boat together and waited as Charon rowed them across. As they moved closer and closer to the Spirit of Hell, Della could feel herself start to tremble. No. I will not show fear... She felt Ariell take the dagger from her and she wondered what Ariell had been planning. When they reached the other side, they stepped off of the boat and Della stared at Satan. "I'm here, so let my love go." Ariell had moved her hand behind her back, sliding the blade across her palm as she did so. She quickly handed Della the blade and then vanished, appearing back on earth. She hoped that Della would know the power of the Blade of Wishing. If you really want something, the blade can grant it for you, within reason. Of course you had to sacrifice something, like a little blood. Della watched as Ariell poofed and felt the dagger in her hand once again. She'd only read about thsi powerful weapon and she not once did she think she'd ever be grasping it. She knew it couldn't make the Divine leave her alone, but she knew it could at least get Damien somewhere safe. She stood defensively, waiting for her chance to get Damien to safety.

Satan grew smug when he saw Della and the other Fallen angel get on the boat, and Charon began rowing them to him. He waited and watched as they got off, and stood before him. He laughed at her when she mentioned letting Damien go. He grew suspicious when she held one of her hands behind her back. "What do you have there?" He muttered angrily, but was still curious to see what it was. "Give it, little Angel. Or meet your fate filled with more anguish than you can imagine." His eyes bore into hers as he held out one hand, demanding she give whatever she had to him. He ignored the girl when she vanished, keeping his eyes on Della."Now." He glared, keeping his hold on Damien. He suddenly had a good idea. "Give it up now or I will throw him in the river of souls," He sneered, heaving Damien up by his collar. Damien once again groaned in pain as he tried to get weakly out of Satan's grip, to no avail. Even if he was using all his strength and energy, unless Satan put him down he would never get away. "Let me go," He said groggily, but it was still filled with fury somehow. "Della.." He blinked, realizing she was in front of him. He opened his red eyes wide, trying to reach out for her. Satan again pulled him back but his stance showed he was more than willing to throw Damien in the river and be done with all of it.

Della gripped the handle of the blade tightly, even as Satan asked for it. She watched him watching her, fully aware that he was still holding Damien. She wanted nothing more than to tell him everything was going to be alright. But it wasn't, and she knew it. She heard Satan threaten to toss him into the river of souls and she grew afraid yet bold all together. She knew he wouldn't hesitate, and so neither would she. "Damien...I love you." she said this as she wished for him to go wherever Ariell was. She then threw the dagger pointedly at him and it pierced his lower torso, exactly where Ariell had punctured her. "I'm sorry." she said as he disappeared, the weapon still in him. She smiled a grim smile. "I don't have anything in my hands. And I suppose it's just you and I now." She was tired and was now simply waiting for Satan to kill her.

Damien heard them talking and smiled when Della said she loved him. "I love you-" Before he could say too, he felt a searing pain hit his waist and he cried out, closing his eyes once more. He barely heard her apologize to him before he felt a breeze, and he was suddenly on the floor again. He couldn't do or say anything, because he had blacked out.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Satan watched all of this in horror, and before he could react, Damien had already gone. He turned to her, a new fire in his eyes. "He will not love you once he has found out what you have done," He stomped his staff, and soon there was a small fat one eyed creature before them. Satan bent down and whispered something incoherent in his ear. The creature nodded and disappeared once again. Satan turned to Della, determined. "Your soul is now mine. Which means you can't go up to Earth or anywhere else without my knowing about it. It's a tracker." He grinned at her, went over to the river, and retrieved her soul. It screamed at her and he put it in his cloak, seeing her reaction as he did. He grabbed her arm, clicked his staff, and they appeared back in his throne room. The creature had set up a cage, and he opened it. The large doors were waiting for Della. "Get in." Satan demanded, pushing her in before she could say so. The creature locked it up quickly and Satan knew he had won this round. He went back and sat on his throne, grinning at her.

Della watched as the little creature appeared and then left as fast as it had come. She heard Satan's words and saw her soul scream before he tucked it away. She smiled sadly. At least he's safe... She looked up and noticed that they were now in his throne room, and she had been pushed into a cage. She knelt and prayed, even though she knew no one was listening to her anymore.

Ariell held her hand closed, the blood had been dripping for a minute now. She was waiting to see if Della and Damien would pop up anywhere around her. When she heard a faint thud, she looked over and saw Damien. His eyes were closed so she assumed he'd passed out. She waited for Della, but then she quickly noticed the weapon lodged in Damien's waist. She pulled it out; his blood soaked into the weapon as her's and Della's had. She frantically shook him even though that may not have been the best idea. "Damien! Damien where is Della!?"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 24, 2012 7:38 pm

Damien tried to focus when he heard Ariell's voice asking him where Della was. He grunted in agony as he felt her pull the dagger out, and he turned over on his side, trying to get his lips to work. He licked him; they had felt dry. "She's with Satan. The b@stard made her sacrifice herself for me!" He shouted into the air, hating his 'Father' more than anyone or anything all of a sudden. He wanted him to die, but knew that wasn't possible. "We need to get her away from him. Now." He couldn't speak anymore, because he could barely breathe. His ribs ached, and it felt like he was dying.

Satan saw her kneel and put her hands together, like she was praying. He rolled his eyes and laughed mockingly at her. "That won't help you now, fool. No one cares anymore." He was trying to make her feel worse, and hoped it worked. He turned eyes away from the angel, disgusted with having to put up with her at all. He hoped that her little friend wouldn't come back to try to save her, because the cage was made out of immortal metal; which could never be broken, you could only flash in and out of the cage. He hit his staff on the pile of bones, making his servant appear. "Fetch me Norma," He said with a plan etching in his head. He was referring to the witch that they kept in Hell, who made special potions that could work on anyone, changing how they felt for someone. The creature disappeared and he laid back, keeping one eye open on the angel as he fell asleep.

Della could hear Satan speaking, but she was still going to pray anyway. He was right though, no one would be listening to her. She brought her hands down and rested them on her knees. There was no more hope, no where she could go. She was trapped and without Damien or Ariell or anyone to save her. She'd be Satan's pet.

*****

Ariell had a horrified look on her face now. "No...That's not how it was supposed to go... Della, why?!" She found little hope in Damien's resolve to go and retrieve her. There was no more hope; and she felt hollow inside. She stood none the less and nodded, signifying that she'd help Damien with whatever scheme he'd cooked up.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 25, 2012 1:24 pm

Damien glanced up at her when she said that was not how it was supposed to go. He noted the questionable look in her eyes that said, I hope you have a plan, and he shrugged guiltily. "I was hoping you would have something," He said in a low voice, sitting up. He ached all over; he had a headache, he felt like he was going to throw up, he could barely breathe. He felt useless for not being able to save Della. Suddenly a voice was clear in his mind, and it wasn't his own. Get into another room by yourself, this will help you save her. Not sure who it was but was willing to do anything for Della, he carefully stood up and stared Ariell in the eyes. "I'll be back," He said, even though he was unsure. He walked unsteadily out of the room, and into a hallway. He had no idea where he was, but he was alone. Now drink this. He glanced around, confused. Before he could say anything, a large bottle appeared in his hands with no label or name; it was blank. "What will it do?" He asked out loud. It will save her, the voice said convincingly. Having no further questions, Damien brought the bottle up to his lips without hesitation. When he was done with it, a burning hate filled him and his eyes once more flashed red. "Bring me home, Father," Damien snarled, and soon enough, he was gone and back into the chambers of Hell. He heard his Father laugh wickedly and say, "Great job, son. I'm proud of you," Satan said, as if he had gotten a good grade on an essay instead. Damien straightened up, frowning, but a smile placed on his face once he saw Satan smiling at him. He bowed. "Thank you, Father." He said nothing more, unaware that Della was right next to him in a large cage.

****

Satan had waited until a plump witch that looked like she had come straight out of the movie, The Wizard Of Oz, walked into the room with a bottle in her hands. It was filled with a dark liquid that made Satan smile. "Ahh, you have brought it, correct? It will work on him then?" The witch came before him and handed it to him personally, an evil gleam in her coal black eyes. "Yes, master. He will never feel such love for her again." Satan's horrifying laugh filled the chamber as the bottle disappeared, and he gestured for the witch to return to where she had come from. When she had gone, there was a moment of silence as Satan turned his eyes to look at Della. "My son will hate you soon enough," He said to her. He grew silent once more as Damien flashed in before him, and got up. "Great job, son. I'm proud of you," Satan boomed, his voice like thunder as he saw Damien bow. He thanked him, and Satan knew he had won. The fire and hate was as strong as ever in Damien's eyes, and for once, he looked more like a Demon than anyone else could imagine. He seemed..intimidating, and Satan enjoyed this.

Ariell watched Damien leave. That was fine, but when he didn't return, she grew worried. What if something happened to him? She looked around but there was no sign of him. What was he up to?

*****

Della looked at the crippled looking witch and when she held a bottle in her hands, Della grew cautious. When she heard the witch say something about love, anguish slammed through her chest. Damien appeared, filled with more hate than any normal person could feel. Della looked at him, wanting to call out but not even thinking he'd respond. She dropped her head and cried silently. She'd basically killed herself for Damien, and with one little potion, he was right back...where he should be. She could never return to heaven; she was stuck here forever. Suddenly, her emotions washed away from her. There really had been no hope, and no scheme or plan she could come up with could outdo Satan. She sat in silence as Damien stood there, looking much more demonic.

Damien stepped back, and heard a sound coming from his left. He glanced over and saw a girl he didn't remember, but she looked familiar all the same. She looked...dead. The girl was clearly in pain and filled with sadness, which made Damien smile. He turned back to stare at his Father, and Satan held a grim expression. "Her name is Della. She has died in the attempt to save someone." Damien held back a laugh. "An angel, then? No one but a rat with wings would do such a thing." The nickname for the species held another faint remembrance, but he pushed it away. Satan nodded, and he could tell his Father was thinking about something. "What is it?" He asked, frowning up at him. Satan watched Della for a moment before replying, "I have a job for you." Satan ignored the job of Charon, it was not needed anymore. "I need you to go up to Earth, and take this girl with you." He pointed with his staff in the direction of Della, and got up off his throne. Damien's eyes held more confusion, but stayed silent. Satan went up to the cage, and glared at Della. "If you do anything to try to get him to love you or change himself once more, your dead. I am letting you go one time, and one time only. Do not even give him a hint of what was before. I will be watching both of you. Once you are on Earth, make him go away. Do you understand me?" Satan's tone of voice was leveled down to where Damien couldn't hear, but he was watching them both intently, his red eyes flaring as he tried to hear what they were saying. Satan straightened up without bothering to hear a response to her, and went over to his son. "Once she is on Earth, she will become a living human. Since I do not make angels, God will do with her what he will. But ignore her if she attempts conversation. We only kill humans, not show feelings for them." Satan's rules quickly came back to Damien and he nodded. "Yes, Father. I will do all of this without feeling. Do I kill her then?" He showed eagerness, and Satan laughed. "A tempting idea, but no. I have decided to let her go, and you will do so also." Damien showed that he understood the directions and Satan pointed his staff towards the cage. The locks broke, and the door fell down with a large clang, letting Della free. Damien held out his arm, keeping his eyes straight forward as he waited for her to take it.

Della listened intently to Satan's words, but all the same she didn't really care. She didn't care about anything anymore. She heard the cage groan and saw Damien holding his arm out. Her face had dried tear streaks and she held his arm, waiting for something to happen. When they appeared back on earth, she immediately let him go. She stared at the ground, not facing Damien. "Go back to your Father. Demon." She couldn't even say his name, not without breaking down. She had to get away, and so she ran in the opposite direction from him. She looked at bystanders that looked back at her with worry and pity on their faces. When she felt she was far enough away, she fell to her knees as the realization of her world falling apart played through her mind. "Della..." She looked up and stood, seeing Ariell with white wings again. "So you're...?" "Yes, I have my restrictions though...Are you ready to go home?" Della nodded, knowing what she was meaning. She felt herself being restored as a being of light and when it was over, she was back in her house. She picked up the box of leftover pizza and threw it away and made the sofa bed look the way it had before... She sighed and noticed a clipboard on her shelf, it was full of names of humans she'd be looking after. At the bottom, she noticed a glorious handwriting which read: "When you're ready to be a gaurdian." She smiled sadly and crushed the board to her chest. Sobs poured from her and her whole body ached; she'd never be happy again.

Damien made sure she held on tightly until they were on Earth once again. He turned to tell her goodbye, but his expressionless face was broke when she said to go back to his Father. He ran a hand through his dark hair, his green eyes visible once more. He couldn't meet her eyes, and when she ran away from him, he took a step after her, not realizing he was feeling guilty until he called out her name. He frowned, wondering why he was showing anything for this angel. But the familiarity of her face came back to him, and he wanted to follow her to find out why despite Satan's instructions. He vowed he would talk to his Father later. He went after her sent, occasionally stopping to make sure he was getting it right. When he came upon a small house, he glanced around, looking for the small angel. "Hello?" He called out, his ears hearing bits of crying coming from inside. He went up to the porch and knocked lightly, hoping that he got it right but having no idea at all why he had come after her. He felt a need to talk to her, nonetheless, and knocked on the door again before leaning back.

Della was still sobbing even as she heard a knock on the door. She was laying on the floor now, and she didn't want to move. She didn't want to move ever, for anything, at all. Why did everything have to be like this? So black and white? So concrete? So...heartbreaking? She groaned as she got to her knees and then stood, taking her sweet time. Her face looked even worse now as the tear trails were more prominent. She went and opened the door wide, and almost passed out. "Wha-Why are you here? You shouldn't be here..."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 6:26 pm

Damien could still hear her sobbing but he didn't change his curious expression until she had opened the door. He took a step back, frowning when she said that he shouldn't be there. He took a deep breath before looking her straight in the eyes. "I am here because I want to know why it seems I have met you before, angel. Please tell me." His eyes were pleading as he watched her reaction, wondering why she had been crying.

Della sighed, biting her tongue. At that moment, she did want to tell him everything, but she knew what that could mean for her life. "I...I can't. I'm not sure why I seem familiar to you." As she said these words, her heart was breaking more and more.
