Because Relic suck at balancing the game, and with the implementation of a new race I'm sure that they will favor the IG much more than any other race, meaning that they shall be overpowered.

Well one guardsmen did hold off a hord of orks in the single player campain I played but that was befor the mod when you only got guard as allys.

Maggots who think that the Imperial Guard will be inferior to the other four armies in Dawn of War have obviously never heard of the essential balancing.
