"I totally will!" Tshila called after him as Malade got up and walked away--after an apology for standing her up (which, really, how hard would it have been to get a message to her about not being able to make it?). "You should totally work on your sense of direction. Maybe get a map or one of those GPS things."

She stood and smiled happily as she leaned against his table and used the napkins to clean her hands. Well, that had been fun. Too bad it completely wasted her lunch. It had almost made her forget she was mad at him. Almost. Heh.

She trotted after him and leaned on the other girl's table. "Hey, you okay? You're a new student right? Kind of tough to be new around here, isn't it? I can help with anything that's bothering you, too. Malade's cute. But not really all that reliable."

Percy looked up in confusion. Some boy had approached, and was offering physical retribution for whoever had done her wrong. She sniffed, well, so much for going unnoticed. Oh well, she was gonna have to bide her time.
She looked at the boy and smiled. "I'm sorry, but I'm fine. No one's upset me, I'm just... um... I'm just... really lonely! yeah, I ah, well, it's my first day here, and I'm just um, nervous is all." She said, focusing on the boy's chin. She extended her hand. "Thank you though. I appreciate your concern... I'm Perc- ah, Penelope. Penelope Mikelovitch. It's nice to meet you."
She smiled tentatively at the girl. Finally, someone she could look in the eyes! "Um... Thanks." She said. "It's nice to meet some new people..."

Malade turned to glare at Tshila for a brief moment when she told the new girl that. Wait, that was a compliment. And an insult. He wasn't sure if he really should be mad or not. Oh well, he already glared at her, so it was too late to think about it.

He turned right back to the girl when she spoke and seemingly cheered up a bit. Hm, she was that lonely? Jeez, she was probably as clingy as his cousin then if she got lonely that easily. "Perc-ah Penelope? What an unusual name," He teased her a bit, smiling when he saw that she held out a hand. It was irritating that most people nowadays didn't greet others properly, only nodding their head like a stupid lizard or something. It was refreshing to see that some students still had a sense of formality and respect. He shook her hand firmly and told her with a grin, "It's a pleasure to meet you as well. Well, as long as you don't fling food at me like someone..."

Though, as nice as it was to meet someone so respectful, it bothered him that she didn't look him in the eye, yet she seemed to have no problems with that for Tshila. Eh, it was probably something wrong with her, because he was sure he wasn't too horrible to look at.

"I didn't fling it," Tshila said. "I hit a slippery spot in the floor and innocently tripped. You just happened to cushion the fall of the tray. I did try to clean it off, you know." Sort of....not really.

"Anyway, it's nice to meet you Penelope. I get the whole loneliness feeling," she added sheepishly. "No one here seems to really like me all that much. They claim to, but then, you know, stand me up and things after we agree to meet up. So it makes a girl feel unwanted and out of place, know what I mean? It's definitely a bit lonely for me too. But hey, we should totally hang out!"

"I'm still learning my way around but I can show you the places I know already and all that."

"...really?" Penelope asked. "Who would do something like that? It doesn't seem very, well, polite." She fiddled with the lapel of her jacket. Stupid uniform didn't fit anymore... "I'd um... I'd love to hang out!... That would be fun!"
She turned back to Malade, focusing on his nose. "Yeah... Perc-ah Penelope is a family name... been around for generations. And um... I don't think I plan on flinging any food anytime soon."
Her stomach growled rather loudly, and she blushed. "Oh... right. Food." She said, embarrassed. "I haven't had any lunch yet... If you'll excuse me for a second..."
Penelope stood, smiled at the two, and headed over to the lunch line. Things were looking up. She was still gonna have to explain herself to the two girls she had met in the library, but at least she had made some friend...
Wait, what was she thinking? She was gonna have to switch back eventually, she lived in LIMESTONE dorm after all. If she started making two different sets of friends, things would end up getting incredibly confusing. What was she gonna do? Obviously, she would stay this way at least until the end of the lunch period, but then what? Penelope sighed. Things were... looking up?

Of course. That was just... typical. Tshila just had to make him look like a bad guy. It totally wasn't his fault that he stood her up, and she should have known that. It wasn't his fault if she wanted to be an unforgiving twit.

But, ugh, Penelope still wasn't looking him in the eye, and it was starting to offend him. He opened his mouth to say something about it when he heard that rumbling. That wasn't his stomach, right? He certainly hoped not. Oh, okay, so it was Penelope's. He nodded when she excused herself to go get food, preparing himself just in case she would come back and fling it on him. Her reassurance wasn't quite enough to keep the doubt out of his mind.

As soon as she was out of earshot, he frowned at Tshila and sighed, "Will you ever stop nagging about that? I mean, can't I at least make up for it? I can still take you on that date I owe you after school, as long as you don't plan on terrorizing me every two seconds."

"I'm not nagging," Tshila said, straightening as Penelope went to get something to eat. "Do you want to hear nagging? Thiiiiiiis is nagging. I can't believe you stood me up! You stood me up twice right in a row and it really hurt my feelings! I was totally looking forward to actually making a friend here and finding someone cool to hang out with and you completely let me down. I was really disheartened by it and can't help but feel there must be something wrong with me. Am I that ugly? I thought you had fun with me. I thought you maybe liked me a little and you just totally shot down all my hopes. Do you know how much that hurt?"

"I've spent all this time thinking about it and wondering what I did wrong. What did I do wrong, Malade? If you got hurt, couldn't you at least send me a message to let me know? Didn't you think that if someone I kind of like was hurt, I might want to know about it so I could make sure you were okay? Did you ever think about that? Did you ever consider my feelings? Are friendships supposed to be built on trust and communication? How can I trust you now? How can I?" She pawed at his arm dramatically as she frantically whined at him, before halting suddenly and letting her hands to fall to her sides as she smiled at him. "See? Totally not what I'm doing here."

She shrugged. "I'm not interested in a date with someone who's doing it to shut me up. I like hanging out with people who, you know, want to hang out with me because they enjoy it. Anyway, whatever. Sorry about your pants. I heard they keep a washing machine in the infirmary..."

Penelope slid back into her chair, a tray holding a plastic wrapped tuna fish sandwich and a coke in her hands. She quietly unwrapped the sandwich and began to eat, feeling slightly self conscious, as one usually does when they're the only one eating at a table. She had, just barely, missed Tshila and Malade's conversation, but she noticed that there seemed to be some... slight tension at the table. She set down her sandwich and turned to Malade, focusing on his chin.
"Um... so aforementioned "Hanging out"" She said. "I assume you will be joining myself and... um..."
She turned to Tshila. "...I just realized: I never got your name!" She exclaimed. "How strange..."

At first, Malade chuckled a bit at Tshila's fake nagging. But, as it went on and on for a while, the smile was wiped right off his face. Wait, was she not kidding? Oh god. He was starting to feel really guilty as she was nearing the end of her little rant, but wasn't sure what to say. He wasn't very good at consoling people, usually ending up just threatening to beat someone up for them. And that usually didn't work. So, he just stood there awkwardly, looking away whenever he could, only giving her brief glances as she freaked out.

But then she reached the end and he realized how much of an idiot he was for believing that. Of course she wouldn't be that annoying type of girl. She seemed way too laid back for that. Still, he wanted to punch her for tricking him like that. He frowned at her when she called off the date, wondering what her problem was. He enjoyed being around her and, while shutting her up was one of his intentions, it wasn't the only one. "I'm not just trying to shut you up. Sort of. Well, you do speak a bit much... but still." Oh. He forgot what he was trying to say. He paused for a second before remembering and continuing, "And I do like hanging out with you. I'm not that much of an a**."

He smiled when Penelope returned, being sure to say "Welcome back" to end their awkward conversation. Well, awkward to him. ... Aaand she was still avoiding looking him in the eye. He didn't want to say anything about it, just in case he might offend her, but his thoughts just decided to leak out into the open again,

'Why does she look away like that? It makes me feel like I have something on my face... Wait, I might. Stupid Tshila and her food...'

Just to be sure, he subtly wiped his chin before realizing he let a thought slip and gave the two of them evidence that it was his thoughts. Damn. He really needs to get that under control.

Tshila shrugged again, watching Penelope get her food. "I felt stupid enough getting stood up twice in a row so I'm not really interested in round three. I mean, that's not a nag--it's just true, you know? Too bad, really cause I like hanging out with you too. But it's kind of stupid to put myself in a situation where I think I'm just going to end up feeling stupid again, or where I feel like I've got to threaten you to make you show up, know what I mean?" She looked over at him and smiled and shrugged.

"Anyway, yup, welcome back Penelope!" she said as the other girl returned with her lunch. "Oh, and I'm Tshila. Tshila Curari. Nice to meet you." She watched curiously as Malade started rubbing at his chin--until she heard that stray thought float to her and--he called her stupid! Damn him.

"You missed it," she told him innocently pointing to her own chin. "It's a little to the left...."

Their were several familiar faces in the cafeteria. All of which Rose had seen before or were in her class. But today Rose just wanted to be for herself and wasn't at all in the mood to mingle.

As Rose entered the caferteria she made her way straight over to the food. It smelled good. Being as hungry as she was, she grabbed alittle of everything. Once she had gotten everything she wanted, Rose made her way over to a table where no one was sitting and begun to eat her food. It all tasted great.

Penelope froze as Malade's stray thought entered her head. She hadn't seen his mouth open. Was he a ventriloquist? No, that didn't make sense. Why would he say what sounded a lot like an inner monologue out loud? Especially the particular things that he said... Darnit. She had hoped that her... little quirk would go unnoticed, but it was a little obvious. She blushed a deep red. She had been making him feel uncomfortable the entire time? Great! Just great. What about the two girls in the library? Had she been making them uncomfortable too?
Tshila's comment to Malade snapped her out of her self imposed reverie. She suppressed a small giggle. It was such an odd thing to say, considering that she was responding to... Whatever it was that Malade had just done... Telepathy? Ventriloquism?
Either way, She felt the need to apologize. "Um... I'm sorry." She said, her gaze boring a hole in the remains of her sandwich. I... um... you see... Medical condition! Yeah, I have an anxiety disorder, that, ah... I panic when I look in boy's eyes... yeah."

Well, Malade couldn't argue with that. He wouldn't stand her up a third time, but she would be a fool to believe that. He wasn't a very trustworthy guy anyway, so he wasn't too offended by her decision. "Fine, fine. Your loss."

He stared at Tshila when she pointed at her chin, sure that she was just messing with him. After the whole platter being flung onto him thing, she wasn't going to trust a word she said. And her lie was only proven true when Penelope gave the real reason she was avoiding looking him in the eye. Ew, it reminded him of Rose a little. Well, she couldn't look men in the eyes, while his cousin couldn't be near women at all... but still. That made him feel a twinge of unjustified abhorrence toward her.

He managed to brush that feeling off to the side as he apologized, "No need to apologize to me. I'm the one who should be sorry, in case I may have offended you. I actually know someone who has a very similar problem..." He trailed off at the end because he didn't want to end up blabbing that he hated that person more than anything. No need to make her feel uncomfortable like that. He glanced at the clock in the cafeteria with a sigh. Time for third period, but he still needed to go get a clean pair of pants first. "Well, I'll see you later? And I guess I won't promise you that, because you'll get all butthurt if I don't follow through," He directed the last part at Tshila before heading off.

"My butt is not remotely hurt at the moment, damn you!" Tshila shouted after Malade, not caring who heard her. That...jerk. Next time she was going to dump hot coffee on his head. She huffed an annoyed sigh and looked over at Penelope. "Hey, don't worry about him. He's a....meh. He's cute and funny and I like him but he stood me up so he's totally a big, stupid jerk."

"Anyway, yeah, don't worry about him. Though we should head out--what class do you have now?"

Penelope smirked. "Well, I wouldnt let him get away too easily." She said. "He seems nice enough... um... chivalrous maybe?"
She looked at the clock. "I have mythology next." She said. "I'm starting to think that taking tha class was a very good idea actually. What about you? What's your next class-"
She stopped short. Crap! She didn't want to go to class as a girl! What if one of her previous classmates was in the class? She'd have to change back and forth depending on the class! She could NOT take that sort of pain. And how was she going to switch anyways? She didn't want Tshila to think she was some sort of freak. What was she gonna do?
Well, there was one place that was guaranteed to have boys.
She sighed heavily. "I... have to use the restroom... I'll see you later? I still totally want to hang out, and... yeah."

(Ooc- out of town, so I'm on my phone. I won't be able to get my character's pic for a while. Sorry!)
