Mallaidh wasn’t sure what Jim was shaking his fist at, but she wasn’t the type to judge, so it was politely overlooked.
The young woman seemed concerned about the possibility that she had been sleeping for a long time, and the response left her with more questions, but she wasn’t about to ask. That reply seemed kind of like a ‘you’re not getting anymore answers’ kind of deal, and besides, he then went on about purposes and then a weapons cover. Uh…weapons cove? The young woman no doubt looked confused, but she followed along regardless. Jim was the authoritative figure after all. One thing at a time Mallaidh, one thing at a time.
As the Hunter babbled on, she politely listened and even offered quite a few sympathetic nods of her head. She could totally sympathize about not being paid enough and just awkwardly smiled at some of the other topics, like other’s hygiene. Was this something she was going to need to worry about? Possibly. Apparently. She’d keep an eye out on it.
Mallaidh released Jim’s arm once they arrived at a cove, and blinked, furrowing her brows uncertainly. Have fun? Uh…well, she didn’t want to seem rude, so she gave a grateful nod of her head to the Hunter. “…Uh…thank you so much for your help Sir…er…Jim! It was a pleasure to meet you…I…I’ll uh….call you sometime! Thank you again!” She gave a parting wave before making her way down to the cove when she realized something.
Oops! She never told Jim her name!
She was a horrible person.

The room:At first, everything is dull.
Then, the senses assault all at once, a strange hiss, the feeling of stale, clammy air hitting skin, strange noises, and the light, painfully bright.
It takes a good few minutes to adjust to the surroundings.
The only thing odd about the room itself were the strange assortment of man-sized pods, strange oval, futuristic even creations covered in glowing runes. Most of them remain closed, some of them have stopped glowing.
Everything is still a blur, vague memories closing in on each other. A trial, a word, Hunters, fighting, shadows, and then darkness. Death.
Nothing made sense. OOC ((OOC: PLEASE ONLY POST HERE IF YOU HAVE BEEN PROMPTED BY A GM TO "WAKE UP". Your character now LOOKS like the character you have been granted in the solo rp, but they have not yet found their (material) weapon yet - ie: they are currently ICly weaponless, and they are in your choice of "regular" clothing (sans white coat) - Please post a small rp post with your character's reactions before exiting out, the next rp your character can post in will be the official introduction rp to the Hunters, which is the ICly "orientation" rp for all new Hunters. - It is assumed your character woke up, the last thing they experienced being the TRAINEE TRIALS where candidates were eliminated before becoming trainees. Everything else feels blurry... ))

Wow, the rumors were true. Pod duty was boring. Creepy, and dull. Candace was sitting in a chair trying very hard to stay awake, but at least she wasn't alone in this duty today. She looked out the window at the assorted pods and hummed quietly, turning her gaze up to the monitors after. Bored. And god were those screens creepy. No place should be this quiet, it was just...wrong. What would they wake up already? This was taking forever.
..Wait, that monitor changed. As did that one. And the other one. "Well it's about time." Candace grinned, getting up out of the chair and stretching her arms up above her head. "It's neat being on this end of it, huh?" She turned her grin to the other trainees before looking to the console and monitors again. So far, so good~. One, two...four...seven...twelve new trainees. Nice. Would there be any new mists out of this group?
"We should go greet the newest batch of trainees, hmm?" Candace said cheerfully as she grabbed her coat off the back of the chair she had been sitting in and tossed it on, opening the door to the pod room itself and waiting for the others to follow.

Pod duty. It wasn't really something Deryk particularly enjoyed doing. It was quiet, yes, but it generally creeped him out. Having all those bodies there in comas, staring out of those glass panes.
Yeah. He didn't like it. But he was on duty right now. At least he could look over the monitors and whatnot while he waited for his time to be up. He wouldn't mind trying to get into one of these machines to see how it worked exactly, but he had a feeling that wouldn't work out too well for him.
Some time in the future.
But! Things were a little different today. Apparently there were more people due to wake up. That should make it more exciting than it normally would be. Not that it was hard to make pod duty less dull.
"How many newblets do you think there'll be?" he asked the others with him before looking to Candace, who spotted some changes in the monitors.
"Oh it's starting? Yes. Let's go," he nodded before following after her.

Being on pod duty was a rather dull task, Gale decided.
This was mostly due to the fact that the last three times he had been assigned to this particular place, nothing had come out of it, and he had spent his time idly scribbling notes down on his paper as he monitored the pods that lined the room. It was, sad to say, one of those jobs where it was most assuredly necessary, but not always that exciting. The pod room held dozens upon dozens of just that - pods - that contained the bodies of the hunters who had not yet been awakened, which just made it seem like dozens of strangely made coffins that beeped and flashed at random moments. Mostly they were there to look for any signs of concern, or perhaps an odd awakening or two, though Gale had yet to encounter anything different in all of his time spent within the room. Only a lot of eerie silence occasionally broken up by the scrape of a chair or the shuffle of footsteps from the other hunters on duty.
On this particular morning, however, it was different - this morning, it was an actual scheduled awakening, something that Gale had not ever been present for. But the text he'd received - no doubt from a certain Moon Hunter Assistant, judging by the none-too-subtle smiley face at the bottom - had requested his presence to "make the new trainees more comfortable."
Gale was standing off to the side of the room, leaning against a wall with his arms folded across his chest, and Jinhai was unsummoned, the ring on his hand constantly emitting a faint golden glow.
Is it time yet?
<< Patience. >>
He did not like being patient, but at least he was not alone. Candace was there as well, along with a few others, which made it slightly less creepy within the room.
"Hopefully a good deal," Gale said, slanting a gaze towards Candace and Deryk.

Her back hurt, that was the first and most important thing Ofelia Tanner thought aboout the moment she woke up. The second most important thing was her jaw hurt which meant, if she'd really been sleeping this entire time, she'd slept with her mouth open and therefore had probably drool caked all over her face. A rub of the back of her hand across her lips yielded no results (huzzah!), and the redhead looked around to try to take in the sights. She couldn't really grasp where she was, how she'd even gotten there, but there was one thing Ofelia was very, very certain of.
This was going to be an awesome adventure.
She'd always dremed of waking up in a strange place and it looked as though her dreams had finally come true. Why now though, and not when she was ten or so? Meh, she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth, and the young girl found herself shivering against the temperature of the room.
"Why t'hell s'cold in here?" So spoke aloud and was surprised to find her voice cracking on each word, her throat so dry she felt like she'd swallowed a mouthful (or two) of sand. "Er, actu'l, where'm I? Where's m'shoes?" She spoke louder and louder with each word, her voice carrying over. It wasn't as though she was looking for anyone in particular, she just wanted to know what was going on.

A heavy groan escaped Ami's mouth as she nodded awake. Everything was groggy and mixed; was that up or down? She waited a moment for her vision to finally clear, and the first thing she thought was where did my room go?
A sudden thought occurred to her. Something about a white coat ... augh the thought was gone. After a moment her mind settled down and she looked foward very clearly. There were lines of pods- and faces. Glowing things.
Her brain said woooooah slow down again, and she waited a moment. Then, thoughtfully, she said, "Morning?" though it came out more as a slur. Her first thought was to get up and go shower when she remembered once more that she wasn't home. "Uhhh" was all she could drawl at her surroundings. Where was her Austenian wit when she needed it?

Worst. PVP run. Ever.
Justin vaguely remembered some rogue ganking him in the middle of his run as he reached the final Wintergrasp tower, it was also those damn rogues. Seriously, next time he was going to file a complaint about it, next to his two-hundred-and-twenty-five other complaints, after his head stopped pounding. Oh god, this was just like that one time he had accidentally confused his white-out solution for his sprite, only a little worse. First of all, the loss of vision wasn't nearly this bad, and second of all, his ears were still ringing oddly. Yeah.. he was going to have to buy a new headset after this.
That much of a thought at least motivated him to get out of whereever he had respawned back at, to attempt to stand up - note key word: attempt. He so much as attempted one vague foot placed to the side before he fell over and out of his pod with a shocked yell and a thump. Did someone mess with his hotkeys again?!

And then it started happening. The first three pods opened up and a number of groans could be heard. It was all pretty reminiscent of his own awakening really. Only, he was a lot less confused for this. No, there was probably plenty of that in the newblets' minds.
As one started to crawl out, Deryk cringed as the guy ended up falling right out.
"...Ouch," he said before glancing to Candace and Gale. Being a little closer, he went ahead and started to try and help the guy back up to his feet, "Easy there. You alright? Actually... probably very confused. Maybe cold. Disoriented. Possibly now sore..."
Glancing to one of the others, he thought on the question.
"Uh.. you're at Deus Ex Machina's headquarters. Dunno where your shoes are."

Ah! Two of them were already up at at 'em! Ohhh and they were both girls! Candace chuckled and stood with one hand on her hip and waving the other in greeting. "Mornin'! Sleep well, ladies? Cold? Huh..it is kind of cold in here, isn't it? I guess heat isn't really a big issue when everyone's asleep in a pod anyway, huh?" Candace glanced back at Deryk and Gale as she said this before turning back to the new trainees, looking them up and down in quiet inspection. Not bad, not bad. Eh? Why didn't that one have shoes on? She frowned a moment before shrugging it off as nothing. "What's your size? I'll lend you a pair of shoes if they fit you."
So that was two--eh? A yelp caught her attention and she looked over in time to watch a young man slam to the ground falling out of his pod. Oh man! She snorted and looked away, pressing her fingers against her lips in an effort to stop herself. "Careful. Being in a coma for a long time messes with your sense of balance, huh?" She let Deryk take care of the fallen one, smiling.
"Yes, welcome to your new home! Congratulations, you all passed~!" Candace cheered, raising a gloved fist in victory and nearly jumping out of pure habit. Ever since she'd started making herself remember her old cheerleading days she'd been getting more and more into it. She'd almost given herself a count off the other day. "So yeah, take it easy. Don't rush yourself or you could fall and hurt yourself, 'kay?"

She had died. It was the first thought that greeted Sydney as her eyes slowly opened. She had died, that meant she was in heaven... it didn't smell like heaven. It smelled stale. So... did that mean she was in the other place? Maybe... but she heard voices, and they didn't sound satanic or anything.
The light hurt her eyes, but it wasn't red. And she wasn't hot. "What--" She jerked, realizing she was stuck in something, something that was rapidly becoming claustrophobic to the girl. She shoved forward, getting out of the pod and stumbling slightly. Her brown eyes opened wide as she looked around, having no clue what was happening, other than--
No, she wasn't abducted by aliens. She had died. She remembered the word... "Hunt... hunter?" she asked, looking at the people that seemed to know what was going on. "You're... not aliens... right?"

"Hunt... hunter?" Candace immediately turned her attention to the newest girl. Wow! Three girls and a guy so far, huh? Four out of twelve so far. Seven to go!
"Ah, so you know that title already? Nice. Ahhh.." She looked down and gave herself a quick pat. It was theatrical, but she hoped it wasn't overly mocking. "Last I checked I was completely human! The thermometer said so, too." What? That made no sense? Was she kidding?
...She kind of wished she was. It was a strange statement.
So! Four awake! Now wasn't a bad time for introductions! "It's nice to meet you all. We're still waiting on seven more pods to open, but since we're here. I'm Candace! And this is Gale." She gestured beside her, giving Deryk a grin after. He could introduce himself on his own~. "We're here to welcome you and answer..simple questions, as there'll be someone else to give you a thorough explanation as to what all of this is. Sound good?" Was she doing this right? It's not like they had a script or a guidebook, and there was no one here for her awakening...just H's voice pissing her off and challenging her to decided on if she felt she did well or not. Damn right she did well!

There were four to awaken so far - four out of...Gale glanced down at the sheet he held in his hand. Four out of...he couldn't read his own handwriting, and there was something smeared across the paper; an eraser mark of sorts. Frowning slightly, Gale sighed internally and the let the clipboard fall back against his side, sliding the pair of reading glasses he was wearing off of his nose and tucking them into a pocket on his jacket.
There was a loud crash - one of the trainees had toppled over and out of his pod, landing in a heap on the floor. Gale winced slightly, but said nothing - he was grateful for Candace, already taking the lead, and Gale went back to making small notes on his clipboard about each of the new trainees.
He wasn't in the Death Division for nothing, after all.
Giving a nod when Candace introduced him, Gale added to her introduction by saying in a crisp British accent, "Welcome to Deus Ex Machina. We'll assist you in whatever it is that you need."
That sounded a tad contrite and stiff as he pushed his fringe of golden bangs away from his face, but Gale had never really been all that great with first greetings as it was. He remained stoically silent throughout most of the first few awakenings, answering only when a girl with short, dark hair said "...you're not...aliens?"
Gale's eyes flickered briefly back towards Candace and Deryk, lifting a brow in a slight gesture of amusement.
"Last I checked I was perfectly human," he replied mildly. "Though there might be a few on this island that theory..."
Since I'm pretty sure "pervert" and "PMS'ing Male" are entirely separate sort of beings.

"Er...size?" Ofelia looked down at her feet as she was being spoken to and she wiggled her toes. Why was she barefoot, and what the hell had she done to get that way? Either way she was bouncing from foot to foot on the could tile, taking a look at the people before her. One was called Candace, the other Gale, and a third person who hadn't been introduced. "If yer askin' 'bout size, Ah wear...Ah think a ten? Ten an' a half? Man Ah haven't bought shoes in a while, been wearin' the same pair for better half'a year." She really liked those shoes and was more than a little peeved to see they were missing.
As for what came next, Hunters? What was a Hunter, and what was this about tests? Last thing Ofelia really remembered doing was trying to burn down the shed behind the school (oh right, that's why her shoes were off - she was standing in water), and now she was being told she passed a test? Weird. "An' ya said coma, what are ya talkin' 'bout? And Deus whata?" Instead of sounding confused or worried, Ofelia's voice actually sounded...excited. Oh man, her brother was gonna flip his s**t once he found out she'd not only been a coma, she'd passed a test too and did it all without wearing shoes.
Also, she still had her eye. BEST DAY EVER.
Ofelia had to snicker though when the last person introduced himself. "Are ya...really named Bond? Ahmagawd."
