If a hunter and a monster hook up, why does the hunter get sick?

Could they get a charge instead.

It says that defensive hunters get upgraded gear that gives them another dice up. But all I have seen of defensive hunters is that they roll the specific dice for defending, and not any version of attack dice. Does rolling 'attack' dice as a defensive hunter heal the person hacking away at the titan?

Now, weapons and their hunters share a bond, and for the weapon, the hunter literally completes them. Weaponization creates a gap in their core which makes them unable to function as a person, which the weapons bond later fills. So when they're with their hunter, they are relatively "normal" and there is a balance within them, they can be a person.

In the hands of another hunter, that bond is disrupted, and the weapon cannot communicate as a person, the only thing that carries through prolonged contact is the one thing every weapon has: a deep hunger for FEAR and the ability to take it by violence. Depending on the strength of the weapon vs the strength of the hunter, this hunger may overwhelm the hunter's own sense of self, leading them toward bloodshed with little restraint.

Are the tentacles (or other sea life like mermaids I GUESS) considered minipets in any capacity and/or can they talk through this

For the reverse pendants, if you use them to power a portal, can you bring more than one person for a trip if they have a leave available? Or is it just the owner who can?
