Now, weapons and their hunters share a bond, and for the weapon, the hunter
literally completes them. Weaponization creates a gap in their core which makes them unable to function as a person, which the weapons bond later fills. So when they're with their hunter, they are relatively "normal" and there is a balance within them, they can be a person.
In the hands of another hunter, that bond is disrupted, and the weapon cannot communicate as a person, the only thing that carries through prolonged contact is the one thing every weapon has:
a deep hunger for FEAR and the ability to take it by violence. Depending on the strength of the weapon vs the strength of the hunter, this hunger may overwhelm the hunter's own sense of self, leading them toward bloodshed with little restraint.
