"Man, I love when for once things go right. I finally got my laptop cleaned up(hopefully no more overheating, yay.) and I had to get a new charger because mine died on me today(what timing) but thankfully I JUST had enough for it. NOW! I'm off to play Minecraft and hope my laptop will stay on(which it should)"

I just realized something...when Skyrim comes out I can actually realistically play the class I've been creating throughout all the games. All I'll need is to be able to smoothly switch between bow and arrow for ranged combat and then sword and lightning spell for closer encounters.
I can't wait to fry myself some crispy critters twisted Yes, I may be a bit slow on the uptake. It really did just occur to me.

Basically in Skyrim there is no such thing as class's in the strictest sense anymore. Which I really love, having to pick one class at the very start and finding out later that you don't like that class is very annoying. Even so to have to restart the game from 0 and pick another class. This new way I can play how I like and level what I like and don't feel restricted in what my character can become.

I've never actually picked a predefined class before. I've always picked and chosen sills that suited my playing style. Like in Oblivion, I liked having lightning based spells and blades (though bows are more my style) and in my head canon my character always combined the two, something you couldn't actually do within the game. That you can apparently do so in Skyrim adds another layer to my particular archetype, was what I meant :3

Even if you picked a custom class you where still confined to leveling those 7 skills to level your character. With Skyrim your not confined to just 7 skills to level your character which I like. At 1st I wasn't so sure about it but the more I read the more it grows on me.
Oh wait so your talking about the duel wielding aspect. A longsword and dagger, two longswords, longsword and staff. I don't think you can do longsword and bow, since you need two hands for a bow.

Eh, that never really bothered me much, but the point wasn't so much about literal class as the type of character I liked to play. Probably wasn't clear enough there. Sorry. I do suppose you'd get more levels out of having all the skills to level you up (if that's what you mean?) but I thought I heard they were dropping some skills and attributes. I'd rather be restricted than limited, imo. Dual wielding a longsword and a spell, actually. I was talking about switching between the bow and the dual wield for ranged and close combat respectively. Normally I stay fixed in ranged but for this I might just have to check out getting a bit closer.

Na it's okay I get what your saying now. They did remove some things, added back some and combine some others like Mysticism in Alteration. They added back enchanting, separated blade and blunt into one hand and two handed.

Did they bring back short blade? That was always my favorite skill in Morrowind.

Bleh. I don't know why, but I always prefered the shorter ones, particularly the wakizashi. Oh well, can still have one-hand.

It the the short blade skill falls into the same boat that medium armor did. I remember reading an interview, I think it was a Q&A I might have posted it here, with Todd talking about medium armor. I'm sure they will still have shortswords in the game but it will fall under the one hand skill.

Ha. Medium armor too, that's mostly what I put my adventurers in. I didn't see much use in heavy armor...just never really jibed with me. As long as they keep light armor I'll be content though. I do read the things you post, I just don't always have the best memory sweatdrop I wonder about the spear, but something tells me it will be neglected. Gives me the itch to go use one in Morrowind just for nostalgic purposes.

Hell I don't even remember what I post sometimes. I just remember that I did read about it somewhere. Not to worry Heavy and Light armor are in Skyrim. Spears is also a no, I think it was gameplay mechs that kept them from working or something. In that Q&A/Interview that I read they talked about spears as well.
