Scouting? "Sure, why not, it has to be better than standing around waiting to be attacked by at tree," the demon supplied, her prehensile tendrils of hair flaring out just once to show her irritation with the present situation before they fell back against her shoulders.
She glanced between the dragon (whom she was actually managing to be civil towards, at least for Iolanthe standards) and the others introducing themselves. Aksaja, Livi, Braumithras - easy enough to remember. "Iolanthe," she supplied, seeing no reason to withhold the information. She then fell into step with the pair of them, dropping her hands from where they'd been curled around her bag straps to instead cross them over her chest in an attempt to keep some minuscule body heat in.
"And as for the people in back -" she cut off with a soft gasp and a little jump, startled by yet another jack damn tree. She grimaced up at it, but noticed it had picked Aksaja for it's current punching bag. Well, she was off the hook at least. "I wish these things would stop jumping out," she murmured, watching Aksaja to see what he planned to do.

Livi wasn't trying to play leader; only was trying to make it easier. It seemed logical to have more people in the scouts as well as the main group. That way, they could possibly have healers if needed as well as fighters. Seeing that West was a bit ahead, he tilted his head a bit. "That's West." He had heard his name mentioned on the train and in the fighting so it truly wasn't hard to put it together. And he somewhat knew him... somewhat. Mainly from the whole 'Lilith'/'Steve' mess.
The tree coming made him frown darkly, refraining from rubbing the bridge of his nose in irritation. Didn't seem to stop. "Definitely means we need to hurry and get out of this thrice-cursed forest." H e had the feeling, though, that Aksaja would be all right. He seemed a bit more of a fighter, or at least was bolder, than Livi and the demon had tackled a tree already. "Take it out quickly. Just don't let it touch you... it's more painful than it looks..."

The cold splash of snow against his skin made Nukpana jump a little, wincing and scrunching up his face as he reached up to quickly brush some off his neck and shoulders, whipping around to look for the culprit. His eyes finally settled on Shehk, surprise surprise, and he smirked a little at her, clawing his fingers and starting towards her in a mock-hostile fashion.
"I'm going to get you my pretty. You little dog you!"
His mocassin-boots crunching each time his feet touched the snow, he made a few half-hearted lunges at the Pricolici, fully expecting to come up with nothing -- she was much faster than him in her canine form, and he could not for his life make himself shift, try as he might. And try he did. Shutting his eyes tight, he focused hard on making his bones shift, making them rearrange themselves, something that used to come so naturally now seeming forced. Still, after a few seconds, he felt something start to happen, and he tensed his muscles harder, the sound of cracking and popping filling the air. But it was wrong... all wrong. It wasn't happening the way it was supposed to, with his entire body altering. Instead, he could feel one shoulder being dislocated, hissing in pain where there usually was none, trying to stop it. Unfortunately for him, the starting and stopping processes seemed to be similar -- hard to control and much like inertia in the fact that it wanted to stay in whatever form it could -- so when he finally opened his eyes, only his right arm had transformed, extended a good half-foot longer than it was supposed to, thick and muscular like a bears and covered in black fur, with finger-like digits and dull wolf-like claws. Which was... definitely not right.
Jack.
It was only after a few minutes of cursing to himself and playing with his warped arm that he heard a little chatting from the group, taking a minute from his game to listen. It seemed they wanted to a scouting party... fine by him, he didn't care. What really caught his attention, however, was a certain demon. Raising his eyebrows, the skinwalker tilted his head a little in Braum's direction, intrigued by the politeness in the demon's voice. It didn't sound like a command or a demeaning comment, which gave him reason to pause, not exactly suspicious of the new behavior but mildly (very mildly,) intrigued. "Makes sense," He responded in a neutral tone, which was about as close to agreeing with him as he was going to get at this point. After all, he didn't want to jump the gun.
Digging in his pockets with his not-morphed hand, Nuk pulled out a few peppermint candies, tossing one to Braum, Riley, Malodore and the Avarice demon Envy whom he had not caught the name of, jerking his head in their direction. "Worst comes to worst, you might be able to throw these and distract something that comes at you. They might go after it."

"I don't think stopping is really on their agenda today," Aksaja grumbled - choosing to ignore Braumithras' tone for the moment, as yet another tree jumped out to attack the demon. The one he'd just taken out had been seriously weak, though - so he didn't really think the other would have too much trouble.
"There might be more of them this way but if we clear 'em out, then everyone else can just ... follow along," he pointed out then with a little shrug.

Chobi_Chocobo x___Doctor Ruri Braumithras was many things. Humble was not one of them. So when some lightning dragon decided to come over (stomp really) and yell at the group, he did not take kindly to being ursurped as the 'leader' of the scouts. Narrowing his eyes at the dragon, he kept himself civil for the sake of cooperation.
"Make no mistake Aksaja, we are scouting for the benefit of the group at large, NOT to get loud and start a ruckus because we're impatient," he informed, raising a challenging eyebrow to the dragon as they kept walking. He was not stopping. He could walk and talk. He saw no reason why the rest of them couldn't either. Besides. Braum sort of liked putting himself slightly in front of the group, as it helped reestablish his 'leadership' position.
"That aside, my name's Braumithras. A pleasure," he introduced to the two new additions to their team. They'd suddenly grown from two, to four, though he still hoped that Corbin and West would join them for a stable six, and he'd enjoy the pure firepower that was West, and the healing ability Corbin now had.
But the moment he heard a tree, his wings flared angrily, spinning quickly to watch ANOTHER JACKDAMNED TREE attack one of his new scouts.
"FOR THE LOVE OF ODIN DO THEY NEVER STOP!?!?!" he bellowed, screeching irately, and wanting to pummel the damned thing himself. "Stop what??" A friendly tree has appeared behind you! It wishes to hug you in painfully happy ways! HP: 3No damage Distracted momentarily by the call of Nukpana, and the tossed candy, he caught it deftly, giving a quick nod and thrusting his arm up with the prize in thanks, and turning to face the stupid tree. Narrowing his eyes, a low sound growled in his throat, and he flapped his wings twice, gaining some height before flapping them roughly. It hurt his wounded shoulders a tad, but the momentum was enough to thrust out his arm and SLAM! it into the tree, hooking the tops of the branches and taking a good chunk of wood with him as he flew past.
His wings were still stiff, and he had to make a larger loop to swing back, flapping once to stay aloft, glaring at the tree.
Braum's HP:: 25
Tree's HP:: 1

Manda Marushii Manda Then the dragon turned his attention to the girl who stomped up to him, and smirked, juuust faintly. "Well, maybe if people would listen the first time I wouldn't have to yell," he pointed out, almost mockingly. "So. I'm scouting, he's scouting... you a scout too?" he asked her then, raising brows. Since it seemed the definition of 'scout' at the moment was 'person who wants to actually get out of this Jackdamned place'. "Scouting? I LOVE to scout! Here, let me start! I scout with my little eye... something white!" A tree piped up from behind, shaking its branches with glee. HP: 3Oh WHAT. "I don't think trees are part of the group!" the dragon yelled at that, spinning around and bracing his EXTREME SNOWBALL LAUNCHER 5000. Then he pulled what he guessed was the trigger and grinned as a giant snowball went flying toward the tree. He stumbled back just a bit at the backlash but it really wasn't much at all. HA. Teach these damn trees to just ... wander up like that. (( Tree: DEADAksaja's HP: 24 )) "Ooh! I didn't know this was part of the g-" SPLORCHA friendly tree stares at the snowball between its eyes. Something then falls out of its branches and hits Aksaja on the head before the tree tumbles onto the ground, still and smiling. HP: 0LOOT:

Luce intercepted the candy mid-toss and nearly swallowed it - but she spat it out after a moment, shaking her tongue and gnawing on a snowball. Blegh! Mint! Like those trees! Disgusting!
"... grazie, Luce," Malodore muttered, plucking the sodden candy out of the snow and tucking it away. "Molto grazie, Nukpana," it added, much more loudly. "Though I hope if another one comes we won't have as much difficulty..." Those snowball-flinging devices were most impressive!

Riley couldn't comprehend what was happening between her legs.
Things were shifting, and getting bigger, and it was just downright hard to concentrate on anything right now, and it made her want to scream. Of course, if she did that, she might pop people's brains. That would be a shame, especially if they were people she liked.
So instead she held on tight, making some sort of odd, jumbled noise every time they took a step and Jericho got bigger.
When she was finally sure he'd stopped growing, she settled in and was hit in the head with something. She didn't really react to it, but one of her tentacles stuck out and grabbed the peppermint before it could fall to the ground.
Hmm? She mumbled, turning glazed eyes to look at Nuk, trying to understand what he was saying. Why wasn't her brain working anymore? This was starting to get really frustrating.
Her response to Nuk's thoughtful gift? Fashoh.
The sound of this one word came from her as if she was saying it underwater. It was a very disturbing thought, to say the least - and all she'd been trying to say was thank you.
The world turned pink, and she groaned in response. What a terrible color.

"Ow, hey what the---" the dragon started, only to shut up instantly when he noticed exactly what had hit him on the thread. Score! Loot. Grinning, he scooped the present up and stuck it into his bag.

Okay.
That was it.
Malodore marched up to Jericho and Riley. It wasn't entirely sure how one induced vomiting in something that didn't have a mouth, but whatever had gotten into Riley had to get out, and quickly. "Jericho, one moment, please -" It made as if to grab at Riley, trying to get her off of the dragon... if she'd let it.

Iolanthe followed the direction of Livi's head as he pointed out yet another of the 'scouting group'. Right, West. "Got it," she said with a nod, glancing back to see the tree Aksaja had just slain replaced with one attacking Braum. Who in jack's name thought this was pleasant? She was pretty sure Christmastown was supposed to be more friendly than this, even with all that.. awful joy in the air.
"No, I don't think they'll be stopping anytime soon," she agreed. She glanced in the direction he pointed out, pressing her lips together in a thin line as she thought about it. Potentially sacrifice herself for the good of the group? That was asking a lot but she supposed the odds probably weren't any better for stragglers.
"That sounds fine to me," she finally shrugged, though she turned to look at Braum and his battle questioningly. Should they just move on and let him catch up, or wait? She glanced between Livi and Aksaja, not really interested in making the decision herself.

The candy hit Livi in the head, since he hadn't been paying attention to it really. The words came next and that's when it fully hit him, his hand snaking out to catch the small candy before it could touch the ground. Looking at it, he looked curious. What were these for? Looking over to Nuk, he inclined his head. "Thank you, sir." He didn't know his name either, only that he seemed to like a certain ghoul or... was dating her or something... but he didn't seem all that bad. Was he a student council... right. He was. Gah, too many things to keep track of!
Seeing yet another launcher in action made him sorta of wish he had picked that instead of the sack, but the launcher didn't fit into his style. It definitely would have clashed more than needed. But he seemed pleased with its destruction. "Good work, Aksaja!" He then looked to Iolanthe and smiled politely. "Iolanthe. That's a lovely name... interesting and one I've not heard before, but lovely all the same." Seeing how Braum was not in battle with another Joy-evil tree, he cheered him on. "Time to vent some frustration, I'm thinking."
Seeing how they were paused for a bit, he looked a bit uncertain if they should continue. "We should keep going. Braum'll catch up. Right, Braum?" He had faith in the other demon and his voice showed that clearly. But it was best not to go too far ahead, in case he needed their assistance. "West'll get too far ahead at this rate."

((Even = Yes, Odd = No ))
Shehk romped away from Nukpana when the skinwalker came after her, shaking her head back and forth humorously as she fled the game of 'catch', having gotten away a bit too easily when she realized he hadn't continued to chase her and pacing back to check on him, sniffing at the borked arm with a slight whine, her tail wagging slightly to check for feedback before she licked at one of the mid-formed digits.
Too bad for her that she couldn't be fore 'snoop snoop' about it without her thumbs. She would have rather enjoyed the opportunity though.
Either way, soon paced about Nukpana's legs again and started forward in the snow again, kicking some snow back at the skinwalker and even shaking her rump at him to try and 'continue' the game once her concerns had been addressed. Although, after a moment, she huffed again at the 'asserting' of roles. Maybe she just needed to get over herself though.
Stop feeling like she needed to get mad at people for trying to unify the group. (Honestly, it didn't even feel like it should have been a group and perhaps it was just that which was her problem.) She wasn't in charge, she wasn't feeling like this was a group.
... .....
Then again maybe she was partially of the opinion that she and Nukpana should just run off together and see what disaster struck from there. (Oh please, she didn't meant -that- sort of 'running away together'. It would have been more like a survival horror story).

Yes. That was a dragon in between Riley's leg alright. Shivering as larger mass meant more of him could get blasted with cold air at once, he paused as Malodore came by and asked him to wait.
"Eh? W-what are you doing?" he asked while staring at the plague doctor. It looked like he was trying to get the Mindflayer off his back. Did he have something that could fix her up? It definitely seemed like Riley wasn't getting any better over time, which made him wonder if her illness really was JOY induced.

Aksaja nodded at Livi's words. "Yea, let's keep going. These trees don't seem as tough as some of the others." Or at least, the one he'd fought hadn't been. Maybe if they weren't drunk, they were easier to take out? Interesting theory...
Though some part of him wished that one had been a drunk one, just so he could search it for cider.
But in any case. The dragon glanced around at the little 'scouting' group and asked, "Want me to get up into the air for a bit or stay down here?"
