Richard waited somewhat lazily for his food to be brought to him eating the grapes first and remaining silent for the moment savoring the flavor. Nodding to Autumn slightly at her words he didn't really put much thought into her words since he wasn't serious in the first place. Likely she wasn't either but his food was so much more satisfying right now. Giving his brother a little shrug his trip to the catacombs wasn't pleasant but certainly didn't give him nightmares. What exactly his brother had encountered while down there was something Richard would have liked to hear.
"Indeed though the wish would have been nice. As it stands the trip was entirely inappropriate and a major waste of precious time." Looking at Trey's mother as she spoke to him Richard listened but did not reply. He had not failed to notice his brother's low tone and perhaps thought he had not mentioned the catacombs to her. Not surprising if their father knew he would be quite furious for putting his already dwindling apparently children.

Watching Trey quietly he took a drink from his glass before eating a few more grapes absentmindedly. Midway to take another drink he froze as his brother said his betrothed was dead. That brought up a minuscule amount of concern for his siblings considering they had journeyed together in the catacombs and if one of their group had died then what happened. Knowing Trey's mother however Richard decided to ask about it later when he congratulated Trey on being free once again. Ileana responded in a typical manner and therefore Richard paid her no attention whatsoever. He completely ignored the Cat man and the people who had come accusing him of being a demon or sorcerer or some other nonsense. It was downright ridiculous for the red haired barbarian who obviously had no manners to suggest the cat was such a thing. Therefore Richard kept his attention on his meal and what the important people had to say.

Autumn got up and left to go greet some woman. Sometime later Trey's mother decided to do the same finding the entertainment that was being provided to be not to her liking obviously. Richard had to agree as he gave the ever increasing cast a bored expression as things escalated to weapons being drawn apparently. Good hopefully they all killed each other off and left him with some peace and quiet to eat with. Shrugging to Trey about losing his appetite Richards wasn't completely gone just yet but he was quickly becoming bored with the dining hall altogether. He found the people to be brainless the way they fought over an obvious priest. The redhead should have just killed the cat man upon arriving and have been done with it. All this talk to try and justify his action or whatever exactly he was trying to do was basically pointless. It was going nowhere fast and now there was the possibility that he could get killed trying to kill the priest. Quite idiotic.

Hearing his brother speak of the training grounds Richard gave him a nod before standing up from his seat considering the group for a moment. After a few seconds he spoke up.
"Go compare size somewhere else and get it over with. That or just kill each other enough talking and let the people in the dining hall have some peace. It is quite obvious this priest is not this sorcerer you are looking for and therefore instead of trying to prove he is someone he is not here is a thought go find the man you are looking for. I swear people don't use their brains anymore it's just fight this and fight that. If they were truly skilled they wouldn't flaunt their skill for everyone to see. Obviously they just need to inflate their egos." The last few sentences were mumbled and therefore he didn't expect them to be heard as he caught up to his brother walking beside him and very much out of earshot of the others. "Idiots."

Turning to his brother Richard gave Trey a pat on the back. "Congratulations on being free of the engagement again. Feels good to not be bound to a single woman doesn't it. If you feel bad for letting the wench die fear not she obviously wasn't Hubris material. You deserve a better woman to be your Queen dear brother." Returning his gaze ahead Richard clasped his hands together behind his back as he walked with perfect posture as was expected of a prince. Disconnecting his hands only long enough to wipe some hair out of his face he returned his hands behind his back. "So what did you encounter in the Catacombs exactly? I encountered some type of magical torture room a foolish woman led us to. Upon touching a device you experienced all the pain without any physical effects." The way he spoke of the chamber was quite nonchalant as if he was brushing the thing aside.

Kingdom: Forititude

Rank: Prince

Location: Dining Hall, I feel like I'm getting a headache.

White walls surround us
As we sleep among the dead

(())

A wolf(Sokar) jumped towards the cat-man(Bacchius). John drew his sword to defend the cat-man(Bacchius). He may have the aura of a demon, but I won't allow anyone to kill him but me. However, the cat-man(Bacchius) was able to defend himself. It seemed he had some kind of magical powers. The wolf(Sokar) had gone out like a light. Remind me not to get near his arrows. Who knows when that guy is going to be able to wake up again!

Then, a strange woman(Somni) came towards them. Something about her creeped John out. The feeling wasn't the same as a demon. But, it had an effect on him nether the less. It has to be just me. She looks just like any other person here. Besides, no other species but demons have made me feel that way. Then again, I don't feel like killing her. I just feel....strange. He couldn't understand all of her words, but he got most of it. Wait! He's a man of religion? His eyes looked at the cat-man(Bacchius) once more. John didn't recognize the attire as being religious. However, John hadn't seen many religious priests in his day. Thus, he had no idea what to believe.

It didn't help when two men(Apollo and Kahler) came into the room. One of them(Kahler), he had never seen before, while the other(Apollo) looked familiar. I think I've seen him around here before... As they spoke, John had no reason not to trust them. It was the same with the strange woman(Somni). He had no reason to believe they would lie about the cat-man(Bacchius). But, why did the cat-man(Bacchius) give off a demonic aura? It made no sense to him.

A moment later, he heard someone(Richard) talking to them. He didn't recognize the people as being from Hubis. At least right away. John's memory could recall seeing the other man(Trey) before. However, the man talking to them(Richard), he knew he had never seen before. The comment made John wish to say something rude back to him. But, John just wasn't that kind of man. He had his moments, but he made sure to keep himself under control. "Sorry if protecting my brother is a sign of inflating the ego sir. However, I suggest for your own good that you stay out of it." John told in a polite tone that had a hint of coldness to it.

His hand felt steady as he put up his rapier. After a few deep breaths, he looked at the man(Apollo) and nodded. "I have no reason not to believe you. However, if you are after a demon, I could help. After all, I'm just as sensitive to them as it seems he(Jack) is." John told calmly and sighed. "As long as he(Jack) doesn't harm my brother(Haven), I have no reason to harm any of you." John told honestly and looked over at the strange woman(Somni) now, and then back at the men(Apollo and Kahler). "Though, how do you all know the cat-man(Bacchius) isn't a demon? By the looks of it, the aura he gives off has been able to trick two of us, if he truely is not a demon." John asked calmly and let his mind concretrate on the conversation, so his urges to kill the cat-man wouldn't come back.

~Kingdom: Hubris~
~Title: Heir~
~Location: Leaving the Dining Hall~

Trey’s pace slowed to a complete halt as he glanced back at his brother, observing as he openly scolded the small group that had verbally assaulted the cat-man. He was unable to mask the appeased expression that graced his features, chuckling quietly under his breath. Richard was certainly from Hubris, and his acrid display only served to support the thought.

Turning around once again, Trey felt Richard's congratulatory pat as he fell into step with his brother. ”Thank you,” he offered a small nod as he headed out of the dining room slowly. ”Yes, she wasn’t exactly my ideal woman…we certainly clashed. I suppose it’s for the best; I highly doubt that she would’ve been welcomed by our family,” he shrugged, examining the décor as they moved through the corridors. ”Were both lucky that we aren’t anchored down, I can’t say the same for Sara,” he continued, going silent after a moment.

Onyx hues flitted back in his brother’s direction as he changed the subject, discussing the catacombs instead. ”That doesn’t seem pleasant at all, what sort of device were you fortunate enough to get?” A small grin crept onto his face before speaking again.”A room full of mirrors, we each had an exact replica of ourselves to fight while they each attempted to drag us back into the depths of the mirrors. It was quite interesting to see my copy in battle, though I was more distracted with Sara’s doppelganger,” he explained as they neared the staircase. ”That’s how my betrothed was eliminated, her copy had somehow killed her and all the while I thought she was alive when it was really just her substitute,” Trey paused near the steps to look at Richard. ”I just need to fetch my things, it will only be a moment,” he excused himself as he darted up the stairs quickly.

He reemerged after a few minutes with his longbow in one hand and the quiver of arrows propped against his back. His sword was already fastened to his side, considering he never walked around without it, but his archery skills needed work. ”So, tell me brother, have you met any interesting individuals since you’ve arrived? Surely you met a few new characters while in the catacombs?” He asked as he continued towards the training grounds.

Richard nodded at Trey's thanks glad to see his brother didn't seem all that affected by the woman's death.
"I am sure she wouldn't have been. Especially not by Sara. The woman would have just ended up dead instead by Sara's hand had she not perished in the catacombs. One evening the woman would have upset her only to get an earful. It's for the best really." Richard couldn't have agreed more about not being tied down. "Of course I am very thankful that I am not tied down. Though I daresay I don't think I could be faithful to a woman at such a young age as I am. I literally have centuries to be married should I choose to do so. Speaking of Sara's betrothed what is he like exactly?" He was curious if he needed to have a little conversation with the man discussing how his sister should be treated. Trey had spent time with the man down in the catacombs even if they hadn't talked a long time he knew more than Richard currently did.

Richard shrugged in response to the torture chamber not being pleasant since it wasn't really still it wasn't anything that was potentially fatal if you were smart about it. As for the device he received Richard tried to think of the name for it failing miserably to do so.
"I am unsure of the name really. It was a chair with straps that burned for lack of a better word. It was quite uneventful really. It lasted for a few moments which were I'm not going to lie quite painful however it went away. I certainly fared better than more than one of them. A few tried taking on two at once. Foolish but alas it got us out of there and they survived." Richard listened to his brother speak of his own time in the catacombs and considered his little torture room good fortune considering it wasn't anything fatal. Well for the most part anyway. Surely it could potentially be fatal if you were to continually touch the devices. The body could only take so much real or not.

"Sounds like you got the short end of the straw on that one dear brother. I imagine Sara's was quite difficult to deal with considering what her ability can do. Leaving her unattended could have proved disastrous. I have to ask though where was Sara when you were dealing with her doppelganger? Surely she didn't leave you to do everything?" It was a fair question given how the words were phrased and Richard was ever casual about it. If Sara's copy wasn't fighting her then what exactly had happened to Sara? Surely the girl hadn't been too wounded or anything of that nature. Stopping by the staircase Richard listened to Trey as the heir said he needed to retrieve his things. "Of course I will be waiting right here for you to return. Take your time." With that said he spent the next several minutes standing in place and quite silent. Upon his brother's return with a bow they resumed their walk. Hearing his brother question those he had met since arriving at the castle Richard got a thoughtful look.

"Let's see I met the Heir of Prudence who, despite not being all that bad of a guy personality wise, would not be my first choice for ruler of a country. He should be easy to overtake should you ever decide to expand the borders of Hubris. His wife to be on the other hand is cute and from what I could tell they absolutely despise each other. She is timid or at least appeared that way to me. I might seek to be in her company some more in the future. I met a fool of a woman who thinks herself above all others despite the fact that she is naught but a peasant. She lead us to the chamber of torture. The person she happened to be bound to was an overeager fool but his current status eludes me. Wouldn't surprise me if the woman killed him. I met a princess of Lust who was cute as well and not all that unpleasant to be around herself. I might seek out her company as well. And last of all is her partner. He was rather quiet and therefore I didn't really get an accurate reading from him. What about you?" It was a valid question. Richard was curious if the man had met anyone worry of his time really.

Danae watched the scene between her father and this newcomer unfold and decided that it would be best to stay out of it. She continued to eat her breakfast while watching when a familiar voice made her cringe in disgust. The elf shuddered when the cat creature had the audacity to touch her. She reached for her sword belt realizing she wasn’t wearing it. Danae cursed silently to herself for not having the oversight to bring the sword with her no matter where she was in this castle. She turned and looked coldly at Eros and said with a quiet but deadly tone to her voice, “I did not give you permission to touch me. I do not care if the ruler of this castle has saw it fit to make us engaged you do not have the right to touch me.” She decided that she would leave the threats for when she was out of her parents’ sight. I will have to teach him some manners. the young princess thought to herself.

Danae turned her attention back to the scene with her father. If Eros hadn’t just annoyed her she would have laughed at the absurdity of it all. It seemed her father was having similar thoughts as to unwanted company. Hopefully her mother and father would be too occupied with the other situation to notice the scene he had caused.

XARD THE DAEMONIC SORCEROR
Location: Forest/ Outside of Church
Kingdom: Veritas, that's where the power is.
Rank: Sorcerer
Wearing This: Sorceress

Xard was amused by Indigo's casual talk. He was being asked to not create what he was made to do. He wanted to laugh, but he had to remain civil. Well civil enough before the three mortals he had before him. He decided to reply back in Italian this time. His voice held some humor tones to it that slowly dipped into something more sly: "Tali giocattoli di divertimento. Mi mancano quei momenti. Mi ricordo quando ho ordinato un attacco di artiglieria sulla tua persona anni fa. Ha! Bei tempi.

"Come per limitare il caos, vogliono fare un contratto di fuori di esso? Io d'accordo per mantenere il caos in un minimo in cambio di ... Oh, non lo so? L'arma dei vostri ho tenuto d'occhio? Se no, te stesso seme. Si vuole qualcosa da me alla fine, e io sarò lì ad aspettare. Sempre in attesa."
(Such fun toys. I do miss those at times. I remember when I ordered an artillery strike upon your person years ago. Ha! Good times.

As for limiting havoc, want to make a contract out of it? I will agree to keep the chaos at a minimal in exchange for...Oh, I do not know? That weapon of yours I have been eying? If not, suit yourself. You will want something from me eventually, and I will be around waiting. Always waiting.)

The demon observed Xakstrazi's reaction to the death of a past companion and friend carefully. He noticed the sadness held within his face. "She must have been something to him for him to care. I can use this. I will just have to do some soul fishing. It's been awhile since I've had to do that for someone. So many opportunities today! I wonder if I can get to them all," thought the mischievous one to himself. When the trio decided to leave, he believed now was the time to make the offer to Madelyne.

"To go see a family that disowned you? Quite the masochist you are, princess," teased Lorelei. Her head tilted to the side and back two inches. A smug smile laced her lips as if waiting for a reaction. "To answer your question before you ask it, I am a sorceress. A little magic brings what I need to know to my ears. Lord Veritas likes to keep interesting company. It is in the best interest of a visitor to know the happenings of the place she visits.

"I could fix that for you, you know? I could make it so that your family takes you back. It is a neophyte task for someone such as myself. Think about it, Madelyne. You could be with your loved ones again. You could be a princess once more. You will have subjects like you should, the respect of the lesser classes like you rightfully deserve, and you could live in your castle instead of a surf's hut. All I require is something in return for my services."
Xard was approaching the three now slowly; the grass parted before her feet reached the ground with each dainty step. The plants were now afraid to even touch the woman. An unnatural breeze began to pick up in the area as tension rose. A devilish gleam glinted off the golden eyes of the sorceress. It was almost hypnotic. The shadows cast by the trees rippled and swayed towards Xard as if they were alive.

The Hell Daemon wearing a woman's skin halted just three feet away from Madelyne, Tantra, and Theoran when she finished her small monologue. She awaited for the princess's answer with her full attention but suddenly looked to the side. Something caught her attention momentarily that made her look disappointed in something. Snapping her fingers at her side, she looked back at the group. "I will let you think it over. Bare in mind that your time is limited, for your king will only be here for a short time only. He has a kingdom to run after all. I will be here when you wish to make the deal," said Lorelei with a sigh. She then turned on a heel and strode towards the old church. Everything demoralizing that occured during Xard's presence among them began to recede swiftly.

The sorceress stopped upon being thirty feet away from all four people in the clearing to turn back and wave with a happy smile. "It was a pleasure meeting you all, and especially lovely to see you again, lover boy. Toodles!" In the next instant the white haired woman disappeared in the blink of an eye. No trace of her was left behind but a happy giggle that too faded as she did from reality.

Valas watched as the Corrine and her father welcomed Lincoln to the table and he turned and watched wearily as Corrine mentioned their engagement to Lincoln. The young elf wasn’t sure how he would take it. They were family after all he wasn’t sure if there would be cause for him to worry about a fight between the two given the circumstances.

A servant walked up with his breakfast that consisted of bacon and pancakes. As Valas had no idea what to say he thought this would be a good opportunity to allow him time to ponder the current situation. He thanked the servant and spread butter over the pancakes before pouring a generous amount of maple syrup on them. The Prince listened to Lincoln as he made his opinion heard. He was almost certain that he had some misgivings about the arranged marriage. Valas treading carefully with his words tried to be diplomatic with the phrasing of his next words. “As an heir it is expected that a marriage will be arranged at some point. Being from different kingdoms may help bring peace to the kingdoms involved.” His words trailed off, as he wasn’t really sure what to say he wasn’t really prepared to have a fiancé thrust upon him with literally no warning. He looked up hoping someone else would have a bit better insight on the subject then he did.

Tantra had stayed quite during the sorceress' speech. She wanted to scream at her, tell her to go away. The woman was wrong, something about her. It was all wrong. She knew it, she just didn't understand why no one else did. She wanted to put her flute to her lips and drown out the woman's voice.

She felt relieved when the woman left, and spat in the direction she left in. "Disgusting wench." She shook her head. "I wouldn't trust the woman as far as I could throw her. Her name is that of the princess of Lust, I believe she is a fake." She turned to face Madelyne. "Princess, I beg you to ignore her offer. I fear the deal she wishes to make will require more than mere gold or items. That woman is evil, she has the aura of a demon and I would rather burn down this entire forest than make a deal with her." She placed a hand against the nearby tree and made a quite apology for saying such a thing. Her wings fluttered quickly, the neon green of the wings glowing gently with her anger and disease.

She would not let Madelyne go through with the deal, she would knock the girl out and keep an eye over her if she had to... Well that was a little over the top, but she did not trust the man. She noticed Indigo was still there, "I am sorry if I insulted you by saying such things about a friend of yours, but I will not and shall not tolerate that woman again. Oh if only the High Priestess were here. She would tear that woman a new..." Her voice trailed off and her face flushed red, "Well you all know what I mean..."

~Kingdom: Hubris~
~Title: Heir~
~Location: Training Grounds~

Trey fell back into conversation as he walked alongside his brother, looking his way briefly as he inquired about their sister’s betrothed. ”He seems like a decent man from what I’ve seen, perhaps a bit too altruistic for someone like Sara; Then again, he’s doing a much better job at keeping her temper subdued then her previous fiancé,” he laughed quietly, shrugging his shoulders casually. The very thought of Gregoir placed a sour taste in his mouth and it left him quite satisfied with his sister’s new husband-to-be.

The heir rounded the last corner, heading for the double doors that led outside. ”Veritas must be sick in the head to come up with such ghastly obstacles, but at least you got out of there unscathed – I don’t think our kingdom could afford another loss,” he sighed quietly as he scanned the area, nearing the training grounds as his brother continued to speak. ”Yes, I’m quite fortunate that I was able to silence her before she could cause any serious damage,” he agreed, adjusting the quiver of bows on his back before speaking up again. ”Ah, Sara’s fiancé got a little too close to the mirrors when we first arrived and he was dragged inside. It wasn’t long before she was pulled inside as well, considering the four foot rule that was in effect,” he explained, shaking his head slowly. ”Lucky enough, we managed to get rid of the copies and the heir of Fortitude did some sort of magic to retrieve them,” he added.

Entering the training grounds, Trey examined the area as he decided on what to start off with. He wasn’t sure if his brother intended to do the same, but he wouldn’t decline an offer to spar if the request was given. A quiet laugh escaped his lips as he listened to his brother’s description of his fellow group members from the catacombs. ”Seems like you had a bit of eye candy; At least there wasn’t anyone that truly grated on your nerves, eh?” He smiled a bit, pulling an arrow from its quiver carefully.

Staring straight ahead at one of the targets, Trey kept his voice steady as he brought his bow up. ”I had a few interesting characters in my group. There was initially quite a bit of tension between the princess of Lust and Sara, but thankfully they put it aside. I wouldn’t want to witness a siren and banshee at their worst,” Trey made a face as he nocked the arrow. ”Then there was the heir of Fortitude whom I can’t say anything negative about. He was fairly useful throughout the entire event. The same goes for the heir of Envy – that man is brutal, but he got the job done,” he tilted his head to the side as he eyed the target, pulled back on the arrow before releasing it. ”I’ve already told you about Ryan, a kind man really, but not very sensible when it comes to dangerous situations. Then there was my own parter, Bella..she was a bit of a nuisance but she came to my aid before her downfall,” he finished, watching as the arrow hit the target, just off center.

Madelyne had just taken a step away from the group, thankful for Tantra's and Theoran's approval of leaving, when Lorelei caught her attention. She turned back, face pained, as the sorceress taunted her. Her smile seemed so cruel, but her words were full of allure, pulling her toward them; how could she not trust this wild, powerful woman? Even the grass bowed before her. Madelyne's gaze was fixated on Lorelei, drawn to each syllable... until her expression changed, and she left.

The princess was lost for words as the sorceress walked from her. How was she supposed to react to that? She had been drawn to each sentence like a fly would to a light; the outcome was something less appealing. Her face appeared utterly blank, hypnotized, until Tantra's voice broke the spell.

"But... I..." Madelyne's voice was barely audible as she tried to regain her composure.

"To go see a family that disowned you?"

"You could be a princess once more."

"All I require is something in return for my services."

Those statements kept repeating in her mind, over and over and over... Madelyne's eyes watered. It brought her back to her senses, and she wiped the tears away almost furiously. How dare Tantra say those things? Lorelei obviously wants to help me, as crude as her approach was, she thought, misguided in her desire to be with her family. I have to make the deal with her... If only she had told me what it was she wanted! How desperately she wanted to scream! She was so... so angry all of a sudden... at everyone. Her father, her brother, her sister, Tantra, Theoran... She regretted how she felt, because they had done nothing, yet they had acted against her in some way or another. Her family did disown her. They dismissed the reality that was her life, and Tantra, no doubt Theoran as well, were against her doing possibly the only thing that could put her back in her rightful place. How dare they!

Madelyne took a deep, ragged breath and finally turned from the group like she had planned, heading toward the castle. She didn't care who saw her clothes, disheveled and dirty, she didn't care what they would say; everything was falling apart and all she had ever wanted was denied. She could give less thought to whether the priestess in training, or Theoran followed her; she was going to walk without distractions.

Her steps were commanding, her head tall, and her back straight as she made her way toward the castle. If anyone saw her, their attention would be brought immediately to her face, tear streaked and mouth set. She wasn't okay, that much was clear, but she would not let any weakness affect her; she would not be stopped.

Jack Rohaun
Kingdom of Interest: Avarice
Occupation: Mercenary/Daemon Hunter
Location: The Garden, the entry hall, then to the dining hall.
Mood: Losing control

More souls began to gather around Jack at a steady pace. Ra was filled with glee at how many casualties he would rack up this time, and every single one of them was humanoid. Well except for the Xard and Sokar. Ra's claws were raking at "R's" mind, trying to find a way to take control and wreak havoc upon everyone in the room. It would be so easy for Ra to suck the life out of those that challenged his host given the allies Jack had gathered. Now he just had to wait for something to set him off, and it happened with the fallen wolf.

Jack's eyes blazed at the sight of his canine companion falling limp to the floor. That single defensive act made by kitty Xard made him channel is powers into a fighting force to be reckoned with. He would cut them all down in the blink of an eye; however, the self proclaimed saint decided to step in front of him before he could act.
"Get out of the way, Saint!" he growled ferociously akin to a savage animal. Apollo's companion decided to chime in as well with an offer of the knight's life. Apollo at first did not seem so keen on the idea of placing his own life on the line, but he agreed nonetheless.

Jack was fighting his urges to make Haven and John martyrs now that Ra so hoped they would become; John's telepathy assisted in the restraint, for it took Ra by surprise. Someone ready to die for strangers despite dire circumstances is someone that deserves an ear to speak to. Ra was not happy about the interjection made by the pair around his host, nor by John's mind speak to his host. He tried to get into Jack's consciousness even harder now; though, the mercenary would have none of it right now. He was transfixed by Apollo's appearance.

It seemed familiar to him. This conviction and steadfastness for truth and justice and wisdom was always ever present by two of his oldest friends. They were actually very old age wise. This quality was rare in men and prevalent within women. Now Apollo was demonstrating this trait. The self-proclaimed saint may actually be one if Jack did not know any better.

Prince John, an angel he had seen a few times before was now wavering. He held the appearance of being moved by Apollo's words and stalwart behavior as he himself was. The angel even offered up his assistance as long as his brother, Prince Haven, was unharmed. That was a simple deal that Jack could easily work with and oblige.

Taking a deep breath now, the demon hunter sheathed his sword. Ra screaming "NO!" echoed in his brain for awhile then faded like a summer breeze.
"You win, Apollo, but Prince John makes a valid point. If he is not a demon why does he..." Jack trailed off. His gaze shifted towards the forest. He felt it now. The true aura of the demon he sought after for seven years thus far. He had played Jack for a sap. Xard probably wanted Jack to execute the whole dinning hall just to make Jack seem like the true threat, while adding souls to the large stockpile held within the Oblivion Gems. This was not the first time the fiery haired mercenary was manipulated to be the Hell Daemon's tool of destruction, and it would not be the last if the young man did not keep his wits about him.

Jack walked around Haven to get to Bacchius. He knelt down to the cat priest's level and examined him with a hard gaze through his goggles. Beneath Jack's cloak, which wrapped around his person like a certain vigilante from a certain Gothic town, the wraith arm raised up with an open palm. Invisible lines began pulling at the demonic aura that encompassed the ill accused priest. Normally you cannot take one's aura from them without doing the following in the process: dispelling their magic, killing them, or weakening them heavily. Sure enough though, the magical field around the purple cat receded into the arm where it would be processed by the orbs of righteous relinquish gems, rejected, sent through the gray regulator gem, and returned to the nefarious relinquish gems. In other words, Jack's arm sends Xard's magic back to him but only his.

Standing up now, Jack looked at Haven, Apollo, Kahler, the odd woman in the mask (a woman he could sense magic emanating from her), and John.
"Apollo was right. He is not a demon. John and I were fooled by a spell cast by the Hell Daemon I seek. This priest was a decoy," explained "R" aloud for the group to hear.

It was some consolation to know that her cousin was as blind-sided by this news as she had been. She still had not gotten the courage, or stabilized her mood enough, to look across the table at her elf of a fiance since he sat down, though she saw her cousin glance at him for some sort of validation. It was received. s**t. Had Valas really accepted this arrangement already? He wasn't going to fight? There went most of her last hoped that this was all some sort of joke, or there would be a way out of it. The pit in her stomach seemed to grow a little deeper, the brunette plucking a grape from the plate in front of her but couldn't bring herself to put it in her mouth. The thought of eating food made her stomach lurch.

"Yes, highness, this arrangement was proposed by the God Veritas, but only at my own behest. True, it isn't exactly what I had in mind when I came to fight for my daughter, but she will be a queen. That's all I've wanted for her," he said in an unusually sentimental tone, his gaze moving softly over to his daughter. Corrine realized she was holding her breath, the Arch Duchess promptly releasing it with a small shudder of her shoulders. She couldn't be upset with him now…and after Lincoln's recitation of her fiance's merits she couldn't even hate him either. Thankfully, her male cousin (yes, it seemed that gender was indeed important here) mentioned what she had been thinking all along. Wrath and Justice?

Unfortunately, Valas had an answer ready about alliances…damn it. Of course his statement about expecting an arranged marriage at some point almost warranted a look from her - it wouldn't have been a good work.

"Valas is indeed correct. I'm sure your father would agree with me when I say that alliances are important in this day and age." There was nothing to indicate that he was annoyed with his nephew's questioning of the match, but he was not one to tolerate questioning for long. Lincoln was a good kid, but he had no daughters. There was nothing Nolan wouldn't do for his daughter, even if it meant marrying her to a non-sinful kingdom's heir. Since there was no chance of her ruling Wrath, at least without nearly unbearable heartbreak in their family, he had to do what was best for her future, even if she didn't know it at the moment. Eventually, she would thank him. Or she would never speak to him again. Either way, he had the satisfaction of knowing that she would spend the rest of her life in a Queen's luxury.

Corrine glanced down at Lincoln's arm as it took hold of her own, giving her a gentle squeeze. She knew what he was silently saying to her - if there were anything he could do for her, he would do it. But, he was not yet the king and therefore there was little he could do but maybe put in a good word with his father? Of course, knowing her Uncle, it would do little good.

"If you'll excuse me, I'm suddenly not feeling very well," the Arch Duchess spoke quickly, standing from her seat and beginning to walk away. She only stopped when her father's booming voice spoke her name, the brunette turning to see him giving a stern look she hadn't seen in years. Releasing a slight sigh, she sunk into a low curtsy, eyes on the floor for the appropriate amount of time before she turned and made her way back towards her chambers.

"You'll have to forgive my daughter, highness. She'll make a great wife, but she's a strong spirit. It will just take a strong hand in the beginning, and some time to get used to the idea." Nolan took a drink from his goblet, eyes scanning over the lads before him. This trip had not worked out how he planned, but at the end of the day he'd accomplished his goal of finding a suitable marriage for his only girl.

Asmoda

Kingdom: None Rank: Fallen knight of Patience Location:Dining Hall

User Image

The Warrior smiled as Autumn approached the table. "My dear child I am surprised to see that you are here. I have been doing well enough I suppose, as well as one of my advanced age is expected to be. I hope that I find you well, and your trip was uneventful." She smiled at the countess, knowing just how eventful Autumn's carriage rides could be.

She cackled at Erik's outrage. "Oh Erik, you always knew how to talk to a woman, your words are most exciting." She smiled knowingly at him, he wanted to pretend like he did not know the warrior, it would be better for his kingdom if he did not associate himself with people like her, but that was not something that she concerned her self with. He should have thought of these things before the first time that they spent the night together, he should have thought of this before he cast her from his kingdom calling her a harlot and worse. Asmoda was petty, she would admit that to herself. She was the type of person that held grudges, and two hundred years was a long time for her to hold a grudge, it was plenty of time to let it fester. If he thought he would be able to get out of this unscathed then he was dead wrong, there was no escape from her wrath, the wrath that he provoked.

Though he called out for her to be seized, for her to be taken away, no one came to do the task. All of the soldiers at the castle knew Asmoda now, many of the had sparred against her, but they all respected her. It did not need to be said that she would kill them if she was not pleased or if they acted against her, it was understood completely. They would not hope that their lord would save them, only a fool would trust Veritas completely, he gained pleasure at others misfortune, and they would still be able to serve him beyond death.

The fallen angle laughed as Nikolai whispered to her. "Subtle, what need have I to be subtle, surely you know me better than that Nikolai, after all the time we spent together." The implication, however false, was there, waiting for Erik to understand the secret she placed behind her words. She had not slept with Nikolai, but she wanted Erik to think that she had, it would be more interesting that way. She reached over and placed her hand on his arm, her grip tight. He could try to pull away, but she doubted he would be able to, her grip had been strengthen with centuries of training. "I must say that you surprise me with your forwardness Erik, usually you save this kind of foreplay for when we are in the bedroom, surely you do not mean to have relations in public. I must say I object to this, especially in front of my Granddaughter." She gestured towards Autumn, winking at the girl.

Asmoda's leg snaked out and found Erik's, gently stroking it up and down. "If you want to leave you must." She looked at Fedora as if seeing her for the first time. "Is that your mistress Erik, you always did like beautiful women, though usually you went with those who looked innocent, not one that dresses as much of a harlot as she does. You treat her well, does your wife know of this affair? She probably saw it coming, how could she hope to compete with others when you yourself did not want her. How was it that you described her to me. I think it was along the lines of 'she must have been the victim of an ugly curse when she was young to be as vile looking as she was grown up. It is a good thing that you did not bring her, all of these people just ate." She reached over and gave his cheek a gentle pat, before dropping her arm to his thigh, rubbing his leg. "Now I will share my bed with you, but your mistress is not invited, you know that I get jealous Erik." She pouted at him.

Ah the power that she felt going through her veins, she would make the wife hate her, and then the b***h would be made to look a fool. And then she would make Erik want her, make him fall in love with her again so that she could crush his soul like he crushed hers long ago. She looked forward to this revenge, he deserved the pain for what he did to her. In the back of her mind she could here the strange woman laugh and Asmoda could not help but join in. This would be delicious.

Kingdom: Humility
Rank: 1st Princess
Location: Dining Hall - Escape

User ImageNaedira seemed to be a gentle woman, in all things—Both in thought and actions… But as with many of the guests to the Lord Veritas, that was only what lay on the surface. She held herself in the decorum that was expected of a woman of her station, perhaps a little headstrong… But nevertheless she was a polite individual, though her own person, no matter her upbringing… She hadn’t missed the dulcet words the Lady Sara had spoken in regards to her brothers… Less than discrete infatuation to the Lady Lorelei. Her timing of such a comment, had been both perfect—And poignant… Enough that her hands had curled in her skirts beneath the table for the moment.

Father, would not be kind to Ryan for such a slight towards his future wife.

Thankfully, the King of Humility had seemed distracted enough—Either not to notice, or had taken the words in jest, as he’d left the table all the same. Else Ryan would be getting several forms of lectures upon the ‘discussion’ he would likely soon be having with their father. Duty came first. As much as he wished his children could marry for their own desires—It was a fools hope. Duty came first… And to blatantly disregard it, if that was the case, was completely unacceptable.

The First Princess of Humility smiled beautifully at the Lady Sara as she replied to her apology—The charming, hesitant stammer she gave leaving the fey woman to believe more and more, that there was an interesting creature underneath the pretty skin of the Princess of Hubris. Sara’s ire made Naedira’s smile brighten, hazel eyes glimmering with amusement… There. That was much better than the fake sweetness and sunshine she’d shown to her father.

Naedira much preferred people as they were—Not what they pretended to be. Though often enough she found herself wearing different masks for different people. Such was a life of a princess, she supposed.

She let the girl find her hand, her sudden excitement contagious—Bringing Naedira from the soured mood the visage of her dead sister had brought. She was learning to deal with that particular grief better and better… It was easier to hide it from the outside world, as she got older. Though sadness festered deep in her heart… It would not show on her face. Not unless something drew it fourth, like one would draw poison from a wound.

“Are they? The gardens—I’ve barely had a chance to see them..”, and that was true… She’d passed through a few times… But after the catacombs, she’d been so tired… So physically exhausted, that for the first day or so she barely left her chambers. “Though I wouldn’t be surprised to find the littlest of Envy in them…She’s quite the floramancer…”

And bringing up Evony, abruptly made her think of Altonair and his wish… No one had asked her of it’s outcome—Something she found curious. Considering he hadn’t ended their engagement, she would have thought that the others might have been curious what he’d decided upon…

Hearing Sara’s comment about the others making her wish to be loud—She outright chuckled, finding her coy smile endearing. “I would imagine it wouldn’t be pleasant at all… If you should feel the need to be loud Lady Sara—By all means, enjoy yourself…Goddess knows, some of them deserve it...“

“Only...Please take pity on me and send a warning first.”
, the auburn haired woman teased her new companion, following her out the exit way. Naedira would much rather listen to the giggles of the Lady Sara, over the absolute NOISE of those that remained—Any day.

**

They exited the castle, and straight away landed in the gardens… There were many people in the distance, coming and going so much that the doors remained open for the time being. Naedira had not missed the sight of the Madelyne-doppelganger coming back towards the castle… And no doubt, both she and the Lady Sara had been seen… Naedira’s own dress bright, shining iridescent in the sunlight. But with her brothers betrothed at her side, she had no want to have a squabble with the woman that claimed to be her sister…

Her heart… Ached, at the sight of her… Her fey-sight let her see the tear streaks on the woman’s face, even from that far away… And she abruptly reminded herself to trust in the King. He would figure things out, concerning his children. He had to...

Turning her gaze instead to the roses, she pulled a long stem beauty—Clipping her fingers like a pair of scissors to bring it free. “So… Tell me, my Lady—What color do you prefer?”

She twirled the rose in her hand idly—And the petals changed colors… Moving through a spectrum of brightness…She let it linger on black, before it changed to gold, then silver… A simple parlor trick… As if Sara hadn’t had enough of them inside… Thankfully, last she’d checked—She wasn’t causing any harm with her magic.

“Tell me about yourself… I’m one of three siblings… Ryan is the oldest. I like… Many things that you would likely find boring… There is no Queen to our Kingdom currently… Goddess bless, They’ve all passed. I prefer to be outdoors, rather than in… “, she tossed over her shoulder, giving Sara a list of things she liked, and disliked in rapid succession…

She did pause though, curiosity framing her face… “What do you think of my brother? I know you haven't had long to think on it... But I'm curious.”

I was angry with my friend: I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath did grow.
- William Blake

Lincoln looked at his uncle silently as he spoke with such obvious love for Corrine. Yes of course, this match was absolute gold for uncle Nolan. Corrine would have all matter of luxury, wouldn’t she? But he felt that was not exactly what Corrine imagined when she had hoped for the future. Most Wrathian royalty and nobility enjoyed the finer things in life, though they were not often as spoiled as other kingdoms. They were cultured and polished, but could make do living in the forest with a hole in the ground to use for personal waste, eating raw meat to survive. At least, that was how Lincoln thought he and his cousin were.

Valas reiterated his point, to which Nolan agreed, and Lincoln had to glance at the arriving server to control his annoyance. Yes indeed alliances were important, but he was peeved at his uncle bringing up his father in this. The anger natural to Lincoln as breathing rose up inside him, demanding he speak his mind. He was heir, and he had his own plans for alliances. Father and mother were intelligent rulers, but they had gotten the best of their own best tutors for Lincoln and his siblings. Taking a calming breath in an inconspicuous manner as possible, Lincoln forced himself to control his emotions. No, he told himself, the time was not now. He would be king one day, and lead Wrath into a true golden age, though it might cost blood and hardship for all. But for now he had to watch and learn what he could, from the sidelines though he despised it. But who knew? Perhaps this match would be helpful. There were alliances that Justice carried, of which could keep Wrath’s back safe while it went on to conquer kingdoms like Fortitude.

And as for his personal plans, well he was not one to give up easily, so if Nathaniel had a problem with this marriage, then he’d just have to maneuver a way around it. It might take some extra work, but he would manage. What the heir of Wrath wanted, he found a way to get.

Turning to watch his cousin leave, and the way her father demanded obedience with but a tone, Lincoln gave her a short nod. He’d look for her later. She was not the type to really talk about her problems (at least, not the girl he remembered), but if she wished for a sparring partner to more physically exert herself while expressing her feelings about this, then he would make himself available to her. She was not his sibling, but it had been many years before he’d gotten Mishka as a sister, so he cared very much for Corrine and her happiness.

The heir’s breakfast was a traditional one from Wrath. Some rolls with butter and jam, a few ham slices, and some dark coffee. He began to apply the butter to one roll before speaking up, “Although, Prince Valas, it might behoove you to use that spirit of hers. She will not be happy being a mere tender wife, but you would endear yourself to her if you gave her the freedom to be herself. I am not aware of how Justice women act, but being considered a delicate decoration can be considered a bit of an insult for someone like Corrine.”

He hated to spoil a part of his cousin’s disguise before she had the chance to make one, but he wished to test the waters, and see what Valas was looking for in a wife. Especially one he had agreed without much pondering to accept. Unless of course, had the heir of Justice all ready been eyeballing a match with Wrath, or one of the other sinful kingdoms? Lincoln savored the taste of his coffee as he considered it. If Justice wished for a sinful ally to watch THEIR back, then this marriage would be a big help, wouldn’t it? He wasn’t sure if Valas was a schemer like he was, but it would certainly give the elf a bit more redemption.

He wondered if perhaps his words might upset his uncle, but he decided Corrine’s happiness meant more to him that his uncle’s approval, though the man had taught him much. Though not one of his main trainers, uncle Nolan had been the one to teach Lincoln to so seamlessly hide his dagger on his person, and how to have it at ready with less than a moment’s notice. It had been years ago, in Lincoln’s early teens, but he had kept the lessons well, which was why that even without his sword (which was one even now), he never felt truly unarmed.
