-----ωith a sigh, I sat on the ground beside Jack, against the wall of the hallway of the hospital. Not the most ideal place to sleep. He could have at least found a chair or something instead of the cold, hard tile floor. -----I leaned my head back against the wall behind me, trying to nap myself, but I already knew it was useless no matter how tired I was. I couldn't help but wonder what mess I had gotten myself into. It made me angry how afraid I was and how little use I was. Why was I being dragged into this? I didn't want to deal with this! I just wanted to live normally, like I always have... -----But what was normal? -----My parents were dead, and I had been on my own for a year after Jack disappeared. What was it I wanted? To live with my family? That was impossible now. To stay with Jack? What if he left again? He told me he had never found whatever he was looking for, so maybe some day he would search for it again. -----Pulling my knees to my chest, I hugged my legs tightly and waited a few more minutes, fighting off these dreadful thoughts as well as I could. I was terrified though. -----Looking over at Jack, I shook his shoulder until he stirred. "It's been five minutes." Sighing again, I pushed myself back to my feet, straightening out my jacket to avoid looking at my friend. But I couldn't help but ask him one thing. "Are you sure about this, Jack...? What if we can't win...?"

Jack instantly awoke at the touch, leaving a doubt as to whether he was asleep at all. But his expression was neutral, bereft of a smile, once more taking things serious enough to not leave it there. No, this was no time for smiles. This was a time of death, a time to commit the gravest of religious sins and crimes against life: the ending of a life. Sighing, he stood up with his cane firmly in hand and looked to Shadow with a stern expression. "Come." He was to walk there, walk to the apartments, for he had to save his chakra until the fight. He had to win this, had to end this threat. He did not know why he felt so responsible, but something told him this had to happen, and that meant his involvement. But he did answer Shadow. Shadow, who was more important to him than anyone. "Win we must. Options gone for else or rust."

-----αgain, I couldn't help but be afraid. This man, the plague bearer, could doom a person with a single glance, with a single touch. The single thought was enough to make me shudder. -----But it was for the good of the village... right? It was our duty as shinobi to do whatever was in our power to stop the fiend, even at the cost of our own lives, so that the innocent may live in peace. That was our purpose. -----Why had I chosen such a path? I will never understand what compelled me to think this was a life meant for someone like me. But, even though I didn't know his reasoning, Jack had pushed me to do it. It was the least I could do for him after he took me in and gave me a home. Even if we didn't know anything about each other. Not once had he asked about my life, though he had allowed me to ask him about his own. Why was that? -----Finally, I nodded to Jack, agreeing that this was our only option, and headed after him.

The Mizukage had left strict orders. If the pain continued for Inka, do something about it, Makami was less then thrilled as he came into Inka's room but....Sypher was a friend. And this was not going away, at least, the disease wasn't going to "Hizara-san? My name is Dr. Makami. I'm Sypher's doctor...I'm going to try something, all right? Sit tight for a few minutes." he murmured, taking a seat and gently placing one hand on Inka's chest, right above the diaphragm. Normally, he'd put the seal on the back. But moving Inka was not an option. Pushing slowly, he isolated the HIV disease and began pulling it into the seal that was slowly forming on Inka's chest. Identical except for some parts, the seal would keep the disease isolated and prevent Inka from suffering the side effects. He'd feel a hundred percent but...he'd still be dying. This was a partial solution. Taking his hand away, Makami waited for the seal to finish...and after an hour or so, Inka would feel sore but otherwise healthy. If this worked for Inka, Kenji was next.

Inka had resigned himself to lying in bed, waiting. For what, he dared not think about for he feared what images his mind could conjure. It was bad enough that some risidual side-effects of the mixed painkillers had left him seeing things - no longer objects, or sounds, voices but blurs of colours at the corner of his vision. A few blinks and they were gone. But it was enough to have him denying an increased dosage of medication. Which meant letting his body feel stiff, tight, and like he was slowly bleeding into his very organs. Breathing constricted, he had his eyes closed, trying to focus on just remaining still, mentally going over jutsu, teachings from the academy - anything that wasn't personal. So, at the sound of his name, it took a moment before it sunk in that someone was talking to him. At first Inka only opened one red eye. Then the other at the mention of the Mizukage. He watched, silent, face strained, as the doctor placed a hand on his chest. He waited for Dr. Makami to presumably finish before speaking.
"Wha-" Inka's voice croaked. He cleared it and tried again. "What did you do? Usually when someone tests a cure, or even a treatment, they tell you first." He watched the doctor carefully, wondering what had just happened to him. He couldn't see his chest, and his body was still numb from drugs to really feel anything significant. "So what is it? Can I go help Syy now?" The last part was more hopeful than anything else had said previously. He was tired of not being able to move, of being a risk to anyone outside the room he was hospitalised in. Of knowing leaving would only harm Syy more than aid. "I haven't heard about anything that's going on out there, you know." He spoke, wanting for answers.
'I've come to realise that I won't ever forgive myself - nor will I find redemption. But, I found something to live for. And that is all I need.'

 [[ Sounds alright ]]
The hospital looked so familiar by now like the rest of the village, she now hated the clean air within, how blood never seems to seep to the ground without being quickly sterilized, and she hated needles more now because it held blood in a state where she could not touch it or it held many strange liquids. Kenji Finally walked in the hospital, mumbling to the nurse she was here to get another check up on her blood poisoning. Once directed to a room, she would just have to wait for any news on if they found a cure yet.

Makami was the first to enter the room, not the usual nurse that would come in and tell Kenji nothing had been found "Hello, you scary little blood addict. Nice to see your still kicking." he greeted her, sitting in a chair and held a clipboard up "Guess what? Good news for you, we've got something that has, so far, dealt with any disease its thrown at." he motioned and a nurse came in, a single syringe and...a medium sized vial filled with a dark liquid. She set the tray they both sat on down next to Makami and then left as he took the syringe up "Ready for another shot?"

Inka was standing in the male toilets, his shirt open as he regarded the seal inked onto his chest. It was still a little strange to him, even after a course of a year having it, that such a thing was what was keeping him alive, or without pain, is perhaps a more accurate description. The blood poisoning - the HIV that attacked the village - was still inside him, killing him. Some days he would wake up, feeling an ache somewhere in his body, and his heart would thud heavily at the thought that maybe he'd die from the disease today, that the seal would break and he'd suffer a painful death. But it was more the thought that he'd break his promise to Sypher that scared him. Death was only a threat when he knew that it would hurt the kage.
"..." Inka sighed, fingers trailing over the seal lightly before he began buttoning up his shirt once more. It was time to go to his check up.
-
On the way to his inspection room, Inka passed an open door, and a familiar figure. He paused, stepped back, and looked into the room.
"... Kenji." He was about to enter when Mikami stepped in front of him. Inka sighed, wanting to go in and check in on Kenji, see how she has been. But he waited out in the hallway, outside the now closed door to the room. "..." Inka sighed through his nose.
'I've come to realise that I won't ever forgive myself - nor will I find redemption. But, I found something to live for. And that is all I need.'

"Inka-san? Your room is over here. You're seeing Dr Atsus today." a nurse gently touched Inka's arm before indicating he should go the room next to it. Atsus was waiting, checking a syringe similar to the one Makami had in the other room, and eager to get Inka back to full health.

Red eyes shifted to the nurse, his brow already furrowed. He looked back to the door that Kenji was behind for a second longer before getting up from leaning against the wall, arms falling to his sides and he walked to the next room. But not without glancing over his shoulder before entering. Finding the doctor inside, he nodded and sat down when indicated. He wanted to see Kenji, but he didn't want to keep the doctor waiting on someone like him.

Atsus smiled brightly at Inka, her dark brown hair and eyes lighting up a heavily freckled face "Hello, Inka! We've not met before but I've been involved in the research done on the fellow who infected you. Really amazing...he's blood is a complete cure for...well, anything. Obviously we're short on supply now what with most of the village needing little doses." she had a strange, foreign accent that indicated she wasn't from the village but a bubbly and happy personality kept her from caring if anyone knew. Standing, she started prepping for the injection, sliding on gloves and a mask as she got a cleaning swab "If you could raise your sleeve...?" she stood, waiting with a smile, completely confident.

Inka just sat in silence, having nothing to say in response to Atsus' words. But he nodded his head and complied to her request to raise his sleeve. He couldn't fault her for her personality, and she seemed genuinely excited about the cure-all blood. If the village could find a way to manufacture more of that blood, it would put Kirigakure in such a higher state above the other hidden villages. It would also make Kirigakure more of a target. "How will I know it worked?" He asked, holding his arm out straight.

Almost immediatly her tounge stuck straight out for the doctor, being called a blood addict usually got that reaction from her. "I'll remember that if you ever die early..." She hated that seal, it was right over her heart to keep the blood poison from killing her everyday, sometimes in her blind rage of a Ketsueki, she could feel that seal slip a bit and it would snap her back to regular Kenji. "A cure? If it doesn't work than your making excuses to give me shots now." She was gladed she decided to wear a sleeveless shirt, more so disregard ever wanting to wear her chunin vest but she did move her headband for the nurse to give her the shot. "Just do it, if it doesn't work than I'll be sure to jab it in your throat got it?" She was a bit more...rude because that attack on her a year ago had forced her to lose all concentration she had to keep her bloodlust within, it was always leaking out in her voice or actions, she had snapped at Sypher a few times about her..techniques of killing enemies.

Gently cleaning a spot, Atsus didn't answer Inka at first, the needle sliding smoothly into Inka's skin. Pushing the plunger down, the liquid slid into Inka's system and began systematically killing the HIV and blood poisoning that had been killing Inka for a year "How will you know? Well, once Dr. Makami finishes up with Kenji, he'll come in here and carefully remove the seal's layers that he put on both of you. And...uhm..." she paused, not wanting to say that the first time it had worked, the pain it had inflicted on the patient had been so extreme, they'd thought it was poison. Thankfully, the Mizukage had a strong stomach and the pain had passed quickly to give way to complete health "If you're not sick after Dr. Makami removes the seal, you'll know its worked!...You don't really have to worry, Inka-san. It will work. I'll go see if Dr. Makami is done with Kenji." Inka would begin to feel a welling of strength and health rush through his body as the disease was destroyed. The seal too would be helping, pumping his body with even more healthy cells.
Makami, meanwhile, was dealing with Kenji and poorly. He was standing now, having cleaned her arm but was scowling, completely prepared to jab her painfully "Do remember all you like. I intend to be cremated." he replied waspishly, administering the shot gently despite his desire to wiggle the needle. As for Kenji jabbing him in the throat "And cure me of a cold? How thoughtful of you." he removed the needle and placed his palm flat on her bare skin, taking the seal off layer by layer. As the cure rushed through her blood, destroying the disease, Kenji would feel lightheaded for a few minutes before a feeling of total health came over her. She'd feel better then she had in weeks. And it might actually be about to get even better "This is from the Mizukage." Makami said as he removed his hand and took up the vial. It was about 2inches tall and a half inch thick with the dark liquid glistening. The vial was made of something similar to glass but had no top or opening. It couldn't be broken either "Some of your....ramblings when you came in a year ago reached him and he made a donation of blood for you to...well, he didn't want you to paint with it but he thought it was a safe gift for someone who helped get rid of the Plaguebearer." he held the vial out, waiting for her to take it or discard it.
