"Thanks, ma'am. I assure you escape is not even an option at this point." he said, walking off after looking back at the police. Something tells me I shoulda saved that check for bail money. he thought. Shrugging and risking arrest, he headed off towards the room Misty was in. After all, he wanted to make sure she was okay. The police in his mind, was second fiddle.

A few nurses left one of the back rooms. They glanced back at CJ, gave him a bit of a look, then headed down the hall. A fair indication that this might have been the room he was looking for.
Inside, Misty was lying in one of the beds with the curtain half drawn around her. Her costume was lying in a chair next to her, and she was covered in a blanket and a green hospital robe.
She glanced over at CJ, blushed a bit and turned her head back around on the pillow.
".....thanks again. For everything." she said quietly.

C.J. smiled as he slid in the door. Just catching Misty's blush. He had to admit, it was pretty cute. He got down close to the bed.
"Sugar, I'm happy to do it." he said. "'Sides, I couldn'ta just left ya there."
He knew it was only a matter of time before the police found out where he got to. Sure he'd be able to state his reasonings, but he also was right now . . . a little bit outside the law. No matter. He had to make sure she was okay. Blushing, he took her hand in his. "By the looks of things, you're gonna be alright." he said.

Misty's cheeks darkened a bit again. "I certainly hope so....they need to do some x-rays and such before they'll know what's wrong." she replied. Then paused and glanced away, a bit of a guilty look coming over her face.
"I...I have a feeling if something's wrong, it's my own fault. The father....well...I found out afterwards that he had other reasons for being happy with the pregnancy. I didn't want him anywhere near me or them. And with my day job...I can't take a maternity leave." she said, then paused for a moment. ".....so....I've had one of my friends use his powers to keep me...not so pregnant as I should be."

C.J. nodded understandingly. Oddly enough for just finding out his somewhat other-forum interest not only had kids . . . and for going 300 MILES PER HOUR and eluding the cops, he sure seemed a bit calm. "Well, at least we'll realize what's goin' on first an' foremost." he said, his smirk would have been a little more convincing that he was playing it cool if it weren't for the blush.
"Well, don't worry about a thing, hon. I'll take care of whatever ya need. It's a promise." he said. And first order of business . . . find out who the hell did this to her and punch the ******** in the FACE!!! he thought.
For once, we agree on something, Benoit. Now how are you gonna deal with the police? After all, jumping over a tow truck, 300 mile an hour average speed, dodging the police with an oil slick and crashing through the front door of the hospital in a "borrowed" Batmobile sure as hell isn't gonna earn us any FRIENDS around here!!
"Shush, you. I'm thinking up a plan as we speak! Now do you mind?!? Tender moment going on here?!" C.J. responded. Glaring at the fourth wall.

Misty blinked and gently turned her head back around to look at him. A bit of surprise on her face. She wasn't sure if she had just been expecting him to say something entirely different, or if she was just surprised by how calm he was with all of this. But...he didn't seem to have any reaction to the news that she was...expecting. That she had been purposefully de-aging herself to keep the children from getting very far along. That she had been in a relationship with someone who was bad news and would probably be after her at least some point in the future. Nothing. He was just...fine with all of it. And he was blushing just about as much as she was.
….maybe she should ask him more about how they met and how things had went.
She paused silently, just looking up at him. She opened her mouth to say something, then apparently thought better of it and just looked down at the bed. Her blue eyes fell on her hand, that was still covered by his. She paused another moment, then gave a small, genuine smile as she looked back up at him.
”Thank you....”

C.J. smiled back at Misty. He was oblivious to any radio signals from Batsy or anything. Of course, you DO REALIZE when you return that car, Batsy and Brenda (aka FEMALE BRUCE) Just may KILL you if you don't get arrested, right?
"SHUT UP, WRITER! I swear, if you didn't know EVERY LITTLE STEP of what I did and do, I swear to GOD you'd be BLIND AS A BA- err, BLIND AS DAREDEVIL!! NOW SHUT UP!!" C.J. growled at the writer, not showing it towards Misty.
He smiled back at her. "It was just the right thing t' do, darlin'." he said. A genuine look of caring in his eyes. He did feel bad that he freaked her the hell out through multi-forumal antics and heinous driving, but he did care for her. Then again, at least one writer thinks they're a good pair. Just Benoit?
"Hmm?"

Alright...she couldn't ignore that look on his face. She'd only seen that look on two or three other people. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or bad thing. She had to ask now. "So...exactly how did we meet and everything? Or at least...what was going on the last time you seen me?" she asked.

C.J. smiled, sitting down in the chair next to her bed. Usually reserved for the doctor, he was sure the man wouldn't mind. Almost like he was spinning a yarn, he got ready to tell the story.
"Well, it was . . . if this guy, the 'writer' is one to be trusted, about last Halloween night. My boyhood pal Arell got invited to a party through Facebook, but he forgot about it when he and I went to the bar. We were juuuust about a few blocks from main drag, when Arell drives over a coke bottle, busting up a tire." he said, thinking a bit, recollecting his "memory" (aka looking over the forum walls to figure out what happened).
"Well, Arell and I figured we'd stop up to a house and ask to borrow a jack, and as luck would have it, some nice lady with a vampire costume on told us about the party. We got invited inside to the party and all of a sudden, I saw a beautiful woman in a spider-queen costume come off the couch. That was you." he said with a smile. Well, dumbass, now it looks like ya fabricated it, but keep going! This might give a good recap just in case Maho or Oncaro are curious as to what's going on! he thought to himself.
"Well long story short, I had a raging crush on you since day one. I just kinda suck when it comes to saying the right thing." he said with a nervous smile.

Misty paused for a moment and looked at him. "....Spider queen costume....do you remember what color it was? If it had anything different about it?" she asked.
There HAD been one that she'd been looking at before. Thought it would be good, but she'd need to use her blue webbing to make better sleeves for it if she got it.

Misty paused for a moment and frowned thoughtfully. The costume that she had been looking at getting before was made of navy blue material with lighter blue highlights. The highlights being a near match to the color of her threads, which would have allowed her to alter it however she wanted and still look right. It was the only spidery costume she'd ever found that was a color other than black or silver. Suppose they did know each other at some point in the future. Or...another version of her. With so much universal mix-up going on, that was almost the better explanation.
”No, I won't hit you.” she said with a small grin. ”I might need someone to drive me back after all. Won't do me any good if I give you a reason to see the doctor too.”

C.J. smiled. "Don't worry, with all the mixed-up stuff that's been goin' on, I'm surprised you haven't called the men in the white coats on me." he said. Well, if I didn't LIVE this s**t, I wouldn't believe it either! he thought. Well, this probably sounds like it came out of some weird, WEIRD movie . . . hey, aren't the police after you regardless?
"In what lawbook says you can't drive a batmobile into a Smokey & the Bandit style car chase, use an oil slick to deter two tailgaters who just happened to be in police cars and have a good parking spot?" he asked over the fourth wall.
Hmm . . . resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and damage of civil property. I'd say you're in a HEAP of trouble unless they're so ridiculously understanding that you had to rush your . . . one forum on-again, off-again girlfriend, other forum stalkee . . . to the hospital.
"I am NOT stalking her!" he argued back.
Yes you are. You found out that you two were dating in the other forum, and then tried to go looking for her. Then it took you seeing her take OFF THE MASK to figure out who it was! So add "Stupid" on the list!
"I can't hear you, writer. I'm ignoring you." he said. Well fine, ya jerk! Be that way. Just don't expect ME to bail YOU out when the police catch you in here!

Misty chuckled. ”If I did that, they'd probably have to take me away as well.” she replied. ”At least you don't run around in spandex climbing through peoples windows and jumping off of buildings. ….among other things.” she said, frowning a bit at her last remark.
With all the crap she'd been put through, and put herself through in her world, it was a wonder she wasn't in a nut-house already. And the stupid...stupid things she'd gotten herself into here. Honestly, she had to have been completely out of it when she went with Savage. Her common sense was just...just....she didn't know where it went to.

C.J. smiled. "Aww, that ain't so bad, honey. Spider man seems to make a great living out of that." he said, trying to cheer her up. "As for that other stuff . . . well, I'll make sure you're okay." he said. That's when his cell phone started buzzing. Apparently that voicemail from Roxi was reminding him it was there, but he didn't dare go for it.
