Hermes the Herald A mortal! Or at least, I'm guessing that's what you are. You're a mortal, right? I mean, what with the internet and all, you never know. You could be Hera in disguise! ooooh, what a plot twist! eek ...That would make Hera unfaithful and a lesbian.

~ContessaLeandra~ Akherontis ~ContessaLeandra~ *laughs* Well, in this case the Subforums have more information. "Reference Material" and "Competitions".
I still have no idea what you're planning to do with the maps. The cosmography is SO vague. gonk I found something last night. Don't worry about it. Besides which, you're too busy to worry about making anything right now, eh? You found something? Do elaborate...

Akherontis Hermes the Herald Akherontis Hermes the Herald Akherontis Hermes the Herald Oh please, there's a difference. We try seduction first. And then if that doesn't work, then we abduct. Obviously. Don't question my logic. rolleyes Usually it's the converse. Abduction followed by wooing. That's how Zephyros and Boreas got their wives, not to mention Hades with Persephone and Eros with Psykhe. Just don't turn Elysia into a turtle. That's mean. Didn't I just tell you not to question my logic? And don't worry about that - I won't...as far as you know. Logic is a product of constant questing for answers. Who am I to deny logic? A mortal! Or at least, I'm guessing that's what you are. You're a mortal, right? I mean, what with the internet and all, you never know. You could be Hera in disguise! ooooh, what a plot twist! eek Well, if I were to take on my usual Greek personae, I'd be Thanatos and Hypnos. Otherwise, I'd be a Pooka? XD You should definitely be a Pooka. cool

@ Akh (Heehehe, it's like your nickname is ACK!): Weelll, I was going to read it myself and break it down nice and easy for you. But if you want to see the unadulterated block of text, by all means:
http://www.ancientworlds.net/aw/Post/106338
@ Hermes: Lmao, well.. You could use that line as BS in News From the Grapevine, as a rumor... "Hera is unfaithful and a lesbian!"

Hera is the goddess of marriage, it would be drastically out of character. Zeus, on the other hand. Well, you know all too well. "I sing of Hermes Kyllenios, Argeiphontes, lord of Kyllene and Arkadia rich in flocks, luck-bringing angelos athanaton. He was born of Maia, the daughter of Atlas, when she had made with Zeus,--a shy goddess she. Ever she avoided the throng of the blessed gods and lived in a shadowy cave, and there Kronion used to lie with the rich-tressed Nymphe at dead of night, while white-armed Hera lay bound in sweet sleep : and neither deathless god nor mortal man knew it. And so hail to you, Son of Zeus and Maia; with you I have begun: now I will turn to another song! Hail, Hermes, kharidotes; giver of grace, diaktoros; guide, and dotor eaon; giver of good things!"

Exactly why it should totally be used in the next BS column in News from the Grapevine. Thanks for the idea, Contessa! biggrin

Akherontis Not here. Pookas are faeries. Faeries do not belong in Greece. Faeries belong in Britain and Scandinavia. They sound cool though, so they should be! Hell, we already have some Norse mixed in around here, what with Sindavra around!

Hell, we already have some Norse mixed in around here, what with Sindavra around! Yeah, but that's in roleplay. Greek cosmology has nymphai and satyroi, theoi georgikoi and theoi nomioi, silenoi and halioi. No room for hobgoblins and elves. The Otherworld is no place for Olympians and Hellenes.

Or wait 'till I start one, which will likely not happen anytime soon. I like to keep my cosmologies divorced from each other. One explanation for how the world and mankind was created is enough. The name itself? Do you know much about Pookas?
