[[ATE : The Morning Before : 1]] [[Louis : Shipwreck Cove : Balcony]] "Morning! It was one of the best sleeps of my life. I couldn't believe I got to be on a bed! I never thought I'd see one of those again. How are you? Where'd you go yesterday after the meeting?"Louis looked at Sayrike and laughed, then tilted his head in response to her question, "What do you mean? Which meeting?" There were several meetings the day before, one on the black pearl, another on the mother ship on Hawaii, and perhaps more that he couldn't recall or may not have been there for.

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 9 } { Riku : Red Rose : Training Chamber } Despite his concentrations, Riku couldn't help but smirk, chuckling somewhat.
Illusions, indeed...
"I'm glad you asked," he answered, his voice as genuine as his intent. "It depends on both the strength of the illusion and the strength of your sense. I know, that doesn't answer much. During my time in Castle Oblivion, I had to face their grand illusionist, Zexion... and to be honest, I lost."
"It was such a simple illusion, but any good illusionist can make you truly believe what you see. And what I saw was Sora, turning against me because of my Darkness... and enveloping me in total, blinding Light," he explained, his voice trailing off in memory. "The truth is, it seemed so overwhelmingly real that I didn't bother to try... but then someone reached out to me. She made me try... and with enough effort, I could smell his Darkness clear through the illusion."
"So, I should say that in my experiences, if you can find the will to concentrate, you should be able to see through," he said. "But for all I know, he simply hadn't accounted for my abilities... or my cavalry. So I can't honestly say for sure one way or another."

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 10 } { Noelle : Red Rose : Training Chamber } Noelle inhaled and exhaled another time before replying, "Okay, good to know, I'll keep that in mind."
She was beginning to feel very well informed now, as far as sensing darkness went. Though of course more questions would without a doubt pop up later. Despite their separation of teams she'd still be able to ask if in dire need, the charms would help that. There was one final thing she had to bring up.
"Last question," Noelle said, her tone suddenly becoming serious. "If Kyle has . . . what do I do? And how could I help him without putting myself in danger?"

{ATE: The Morning Before: 2} Sayrike::Shipwreck Cove:: Balcony The girl was almost taken aback. Louis...laughing? Well, it seemed as if whatever had bothered him yesterday had worn off. Or he was hiding it. The memory of the battle on Hawaii surfaced briefly before Sayrike pushed it aside. The past was the past, and this was Louis now. Her grin showed a bit of relief. "The meeting on the mothership in Hawaii. You just...well, it seemed like you had a lot on your mind, especially after what happened in the battle just before that. So...I was just checking to see if everything's all right."

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 11 } { Riku : Red Rose : Training Chamber } There was no response. Not, at least, for half a minute or so.
"I don't know."
He stopped, unsure of what to say. He thought back to his own experiences, his past.
"Just... be there for him. Be a friend. He seems the type to take on as many burdens as he can and then some, thinking he could help everyone out," Riku said, having a bit of an idea about what Kyle was planning from what Sora told him, and the seals he'd seen on so many people's hands. "Try to convince him otherwise. Just... let him know he's part of a team. He's never alone. And if it comes down to it... fight for him."
"If it's of any consolation, no one falls so fast on their own," he said, smiling somewhat; though she couldn't see him, she could probably hear the change in tone. "He may have a moment of weakness, but without some serious outside interference forcing it onto him, he won't be beyond help. It would take a long time, going as we have, before he truly began to stray."

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 12 } { Noelle : Red Rose : Training Chamber } Noelle frowned--not a clear answer on this one. The mention of 'serious outside interference forcing it onto him' sent a jolt of worry through her heart. Their battle with the Nameless came to mind and the damage it had done to Kyle among other members of their group. There were so many possibilities of anything going wrong. She pushed her mind from it, trying to relieve her anxiety by concentrating back on her meditation, but her facial expression remained tense and concerned.
"Okay . . . now what?" Noelle asked with another deep, slightly fretful sigh. If they were done with meditation then she'd like to learn another useful skill.

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 13 } { Riku : Red Rose : Training Chamber } "Well," he began, musing somewhat as he remained in his position. He was more familiar with it than Noelle, but it wasn't quite something you could just pick back up, either. "To be honest, I think it might be best if we stick this. Perhaps I'm overly cautious, but I'd rather not push your heart any more than necessary, especially before you're surrounded by such a Dark atmosphere."
He paused for a moment, thinking, before inaudibly lifting his right hand away from his knee. "Don't open your eyes." Without any more sound than perhaps a light flutter, he summoned a Dark Fireball into his hand, letting it hover there, the sound of its crackling sounding almost like static on a television.
"Did you notice anything different?"

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 14 } { Noelle : Red Rose : Training Chamber } Noelle nodded and replied, "Understandable."
It wasn't exactly what she wanted to hear but she respected his caution. Her eager conscience could cool it for a bit. The agromancer sighed and concentrated more, keeping her eyes closed as Riku had told her to. Her eyebrows pulled together when he summoned the Dark Fireball, noticing its lack of a balance, or unnoticeable one.
"Whoa! Yeah, what's that?"

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 15 } { Riku : Red Rose : Training Chamber } "Go ahead and open your eyes."
Riku did the same, watching for her to do so. For her, being so new to it, switching to her normal senses would probably completely stop her 'sixth sense', or at the very least diminish it to maybe very, very short distances. Due to his own experience, though his sixth sense was certainly diminished by returning to his normal senses, he was able to keep enough of his focus to allow greater distance and precision.
"You've probably seen similar attacks before. Its just a basic manifestation of Darkness' destructive energies-- hence why it takes the form of 'fire'," he explained, allowing it to dissipate in his hands. "This Dark Fireball was probably a fairly noticeable anomaly. The more potent or disturbing the Dark-based attack is, the more noticeable it'll be."
"I say this because the Replicas, being so based in Darkness, may combine Dark elements into their attacks to increase their power-- at the cost of additional energy, of course," he continued. "They probably won't be as noticeable as this was, since they'll have their own elements. Ajora, of course, might be an exception, since his attacks are probably just as Darkness-incarnate as the fireball. Kyle and Amy might, too, due to his Light magic and her White magic. As you become more apt with your new sense, you might be able to pick up on attacks that disturb the balance with greater ease-- hence why it can be such a vital asset, even when not actively in use."

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 16 } { Noelle : Red Rose : Training Chamber } Noelle opened her eyes, noticing the balance she saw with her eyes closed remain for a few brief seconds before fading away like the retina burn after looking at a bright light. A look of understanding came over her face as she realized what she had seen was a Dark fireball. She was starting to understand the value of this new sense beyond being able to see the balance in others--it could help her avoid attacks that were more dangerous.
When Riku finished the agromancer made a puzzled face, "I . . . can put Darkness behind my attacks too . . . right?"

[[ATE : The Morning Before : 3]] [[Louis : Shipwreck Cove : Balcony]] "Ah, that meeting," Louis paused to let her finish, then continued, "You're right, I did have allot on my mind, but I can't let that hinder my performance now. Today is a new day, and tomorrow is behind me." Liar, " So no worries." Louis smiled and tried to inspire confidence in his words, only to have his attempts muddled when his stomach decided to let out a deep grumble. "Ehehe," he looked to the side nervously, "Sorry about that, I haven't eaten yet. Um, would you two like to join me?" He motioned to both Jenny and Sayrike, "I'm going to go seek out some source of eatable food, that is, if your apple hasn't satisfied your appetite." Louis motioned to Jenny who's face and expression were both hidden under her bangs.

[ATE :: The Morning Before :: 4] [Jenny :: Shipwreck Cove :: Balconies] Jenny listened to the conversation quietly and she felt as if she were playing detective, watching his features change as he spoke. Subconsciously, she sorted through the heartsongs until she stood before his, the soft lull of its melody reaching out... Jenny frowned as she listened and watched the smiles dance across Louis' face. He was hiding something... but, what?
Then the conversation broadened to include the mage and she hurriedly snapped her head up. Her teeth were still planted firmly in her apple and she must have looked quite comical. Jenny nodded as she tore off another piece of her apple; more foods sounded delicious even if her mind was still a little preoccupied.
"That sounds like an amazing idea, after all, today is big day," Jenny finally replied after she had finished her apple.

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 17 } { Riku : Red Rose : Training Chamber } "In time," he responded, his tone taking on a more solemn approach. "Manipulating the pure energies of Darkness is risky, due to it being such a direct connection. Of course, anything with Darkness is risky, but if you try to add it to an attack unsuccessfully, it will backfire, hurting you instantly rather than overtime."

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 18 } { Noelle : Red Rose : Training Chamber } Noelle chewed on her lip and let out a thoughtful, "Hmm,"
She was expecting something to the effect of a Darkness powered attack being dangerous. Riku had already said they wouldn't be continuing with further training for the day, so she would ask him to teach her how to use Darkness behind an attack later--if he'd do it. She understood the risk, but she'd do anything to help the others and prevent more losses, like James.
"Okay, I'll be sure to avoid it. Not like I'd be able to figure it out, anyway. I'm not very creative when it comes to this stuff." Noelle told him with a reassuring smile.

{ ATE : Feeling Out the Dark Pockets : 19 } { Riku : Red Rose : Training Chamber } "Eh, you'd be surprised how easily it happens without you realizing it," he said, sighing. "All it takes is you pushing all you have into an attack and still desperately calling out for more. More will come, alright, but not from your mana reserves-- from the Darkness. And that's one of the quickest ways to get addicted."
