Of course she though, it should have occurred to Cindy about that as well. She had to smile though at Vergil's comment did he really not like Ruque's clothes that much.
"If it is not too much trouble, as I was telling Vergil they would be just to tie him over until I can make some myself."

"I like clothes just like what I have now!" Vergil piped up.
Niyana smiled. "Well then, let me get my measuring tape, and I'll have something for you by the end of the day. How does that sound?"
Vergil was surprised that anyone could make a whole set of clothes in less than a day, but he grinned, pleased. "Okay!"

That was a quick change of mind, Cindy thought, but she was glad he wasn't going to argue for more clothes. He was going to need more clothes because she wasn't going to have him keep wearing the same ones.
"This way you don't have to wear the same set every single day."

Vergil looked down at his clothes, opening his jacket and looking down at his chemise. "Why?" he asked, inspecting it closely. "It's comfortable, and I think it looks pretty darn good on me."
He poked at a scuff of dirt and flicked it away.

"They need to be cleaned every once in a while otherwise they'll smell," Cindy replied.
Actually now that she thought about it, Vergil did smell a bit, maybe she should also suggest a bath, but she would have to find a basin first.

Vergil lifted the lapel of his jacket and sniffed at it. "Yeah ... I guess you're right," he said reluctantly. "It does kind of smell ..."
Though it was also a miracle it hadn't already fallen apart, being the only clothes he'd had for a year. Though he had swum in them before, that didn't quite qualify as a wash, either.
He looked up at Cindy. "Even if I sit in a towel while they wash or something?" he asked her. "Isn't that okay?"

"It would be easier to have another set of clothes to wear," Cindy replied, "Otherwise you'll be naked for several hours because they need to dry."
Otherwise they'll start smelling moldy which wasn't any better when she really thought about it.

"I guess that makes sense," Vergil shrugged, "though if it's warm outside I don't see what's the problem with being naked. It's not a crime. And if it is, it shouldn't be."
He paused to think. "Or they could dry while I sleep. Then I have a blanket on, then I can still be warm."
He smiled. "But you're right, I do need some new clothes. I'll just have to wear them in to make them comfortable."

Cindy laughed a bit but she nodded at his assessment that he would 'wear in' whatever new clothes he got. Of course she knew Vergil didn't know about how cold it could get here, and he was obviously been on his own for far too long to understand why not everyone would like seeing him naked.

Vergil tried to frown at Cindy, but it came out as more of a pout than anything else.
"Why are you laughing at me?" he asked her pitifully. "It's not funny. When they're new they're all stiff and hard and not comfortable at all!"

"Not always," Cindy replied.
She figured in the future she would explain it wasn't quite acceptable to remain naked outside for everyone to see but that could be on a later date.
"It depends on what they're made out of."

Vergil frowned. "What else would they be made out of?" he asked her. "They're clothes! They're made out of material, aren't they?"
Which just went to show how much he really knew about it all.
Just then, Niyana returned, measuring tape in hand. "All right," she smiled, "time to measure. Cindy, if you could put him on the table, I'll measure him there. And if you want, I can give you a copy of his measurements so that you don't have to redo it when you make clothes as well."

Cindy smiled and set Vergil down on the table, "Thank you Niyana that would be most helpful."
Then she turned her attention back to Vergil when a most interesting question popped into her mind.
"Well around here our clothes are made out of wool, which is a type of material. Though I have to ask, when was the last time you received a new set of clothes?"

"Ummmm ...." Vergil tried to think while Niyana removed his jacket and positioned him for measuring. "I dunno, long time anyways. Maybe I never. I dunno."
He just knew that when he had first been running around, his clothes had been stiff, and they had remained stiff until he had worn them for a few weeks. He assumed all new clothes would be like that.

Cindy eyed Vergil's clothing, it was certainly made out of good material, though she wondered if judging by his jacket if maybe at least his jacket was made of leather. Of course leather could be soft.... if done right.
When she really thought it, his clothes were sort of like a uniform in some respects.
"Well.. not all clothes are stiff," she replied, "So you might not need to wear them in."
