Rory held the door for her as the left the doctor's office, then got the car door for her as well, sliding in next to her once she was seated. "I think maybe we can gae see your friends t'morrow when w've both has some time after this, eh?"

Shrugging, Lee looked to her lap, not wanting to push Rory to see anyone he didn't want to or doing anything he wasn't ready for. "If you're up for it, sure." These were essentially the same people he'd been having problems with lately -- teenage outsider girls.

"Donnae see why not. They your friends," Rory pointed out. "Should get t' visit wi' them some before w' gae home. Cannae really ask them t' come out t' Farstep, reet?"

Lee laughed a bit to herself at the thought. "I think they'd embarrass you if they came to Farstep..." Poor Rory. He really couldn't get away from these outsider girls, could he? She clung to his arm a bit as the car drove along, for once in a better mood than earlier. Then again, just about anything was better than being miserable and assuming your boyfriend cheated on you.

Rory rested his cheek against the top of Lee's head so he could watch out the window, the upper districts speeding past. It never failed to amaze him how different their worlds were. "I think we should come visit your parents about once a month or so. Not a whole week, just a weekend. You can visit wi' them an' get pampered by th' servants an' I can shoot th' shite wi' your da an' check on your mum's horses."

Lee smiled to Rory, though she couldn't exactly see him the way he was resting on her. "Really? I mean, you wanna?" She was sure that would help both her parents warm up to Rory more, though it already seemed her father and the boy got along quite well. Her mother, on the other hand, still had quite a bit to go before Lee could say with confidence that the woman tolerated him. Slowly, though, she was seeing her mother hate Rory less and less the more time they spent together. Lee looked over to her father to see the man still chatting away on the phone, noticing for the first time that the uncomfortable atmosphere was gone for the moment. "Did the doctor say something to you? I mean, he must have said something... you don't seem as sad." Perhaps he was hiding it? She really hoped it wasn't that...

"Well, she put a few things int' perspective an' definitely said I should get some counseling. I think mostly I just come t' terms wi' it. Mopin' ain't gonna change tha' it happened so I just hae t' move forward," Rory said, moving so he could look down at her. "She did say she thinks w' should postpone th' weddin'. I think I'd rather see what the counselor says to tha' first, but if you want t' wait, w' can do tha'."

She? So maybe that woman from before was his doctor? Either way, there were bigger surprises for Lee to focus on, the most important being that Rory was... amazing. He was incredibly level-headed, even after everything he'd been put through. Lee couldn't help but admire the boy when he, being the victim, was moving past this faster than she was. Lee looked up at Rory after he moved, the down to her knees, a somewhat sad look in her eyes. Postponing the wedding? She didn't want to give Lydia the satisfaction. "I dun want you to marry me if you dun think you're up for it... but I think we should hear what the counselor has to say." She nodded, looking back up to Rory was a slight smile.

Rory nodded. "It ain't really th' weddin' I'm worried about. It's e'erythin' after." He smiled at her a little. "You think you might wanna talk t' someone, too? I mean, I know it wis me tha' she had her way wi', but it hurt you, too. Are you gonna be able t' be wi' me an' know tha' I wis wi' another woman?"

Shaking her head, Lee shrugged, avoiding Rory's eyes as she spoke. "I'll be fine. I mean, what gets me is knowing how affect you are by it. I'm hurt 'cause you're hurt." Then again, she would have been hurt had he not cared at all, too. It wasn't so much that she couldn't use the help as it was that Lee was more than a little nervous about opening up to someone she didn't know at all.

Rory stroked her cheek gently, sighing. "That why you ain't really lookin' at me anymore?"

Fidgeting a bit with her skirt, Lee kept her focus off of Rory, only somewhat realizing she was proving him right further. "I dunno what you mean..." she half-lied, barely mustering up the courage to look at him once again.

Lee looked down, her guilt written all over her face as she whispered, "I'm sorry..." Her eyes wandered over to his hand, the girl contemplating whether or not to hold it. Now she was the cause of his sadness, the cause of that look on his face. Reaching out to hold his hand in her's, she wasn't sure he even wanted anything to do with her. "I know you didn't... I know you love me and wouldn't do something like that if you could help it. I just..." She bit her lip, looking the boy in the eyes again. "I can't help it. When I see you like this, not smiling, not kissing me like you used to, a small, really stupid part of me just thinks you'd prefer someone else. But I know that's not true, and I dun get why I'd think that..."

"I donnae want anyone else. Just want you," Rory said softly, looking up at her. "I'm sorry I ain't smilin'. Just cannae seem t' really, 'cept when you're near. As fae not kissin', well . . . I thought it might be safer till w' get th' results back, yeah? Can still hug me, though." He held his arms out a bit, inviting her to snuggle against him.
