That's true, but most parents don't realize it nor will they listen if you try to tell them this.

I guess. Sometimes I wonder if parents spontaneously loose their memory of their teenage years when they become parents....It really seems that way...

No, rather they often become so over protective they forget that teenagers and children need air too.

*sigh* I wish they didn't....My life would be so much easier if she actually treated me like a teenager all the time instead of just when she wanted something. Well, not easier but less complicated....

Yeah that's exactly how I felt when I was living with my dad and my step mother.. I don't know why it was but for some reason or another she and your mother really have a control complex.. Which is highly annoying! ><;;

Really, my mom is just...frustrating. Also, my best friend's mom is totally the same way, which makes me think that moms come pre-made or something like that....>>;

Nah that's not true. Every mom is different because you know every person woman is different.
My mom was great minus the fact that she had a drinking problem. I don't agree with the way my step mother was because she was controlling. My sister sucks as a mom because she likes to drink and party a lot and not pay attention to her kids. My other sister is about the same way only way more dysfunctional.
Mayra's mom can be nice to a point but has really high expectations and likes to put the blame on other people for things that go wrong, oh and she's really impatient, if you're not ready to do something RIGHT when she wants it or leave RIGHT now she gets mad and says, "whatever" and more than likely will leave. She also thinks that she knows everything.
So as you can see; mothers vary greatly depending on the person. Also mothers may be similar due to the effects that they had on their children. Like how both of my sisters are alcoholics. ><;;

Ouch....That sucks....I suppose my mom isn't that bad in comparison, but she's just so frustratingly controlling....But my sisters aren't control freaks....to the best of my knowledge....yet I wish she was a bit more trusting about how she raised us....

Yeah I know how that can be. xD;;; Cuz like I said your mom sounds just like my step mother was like so I know what you're talking about.
I have never wanted to do anything more than learn how to drive once I was put into that house hold. xd That's HOW bad she was. xD;;;; Thankfully that was just for 3 years. xD;;

xD; learn to drive?
I want to learn to drive...the only thing I've ever driven is the lawn mower, and that doesn't really count...technically I'm old enough to get my permit, but my mom doesn't want me to because then she'll have to pay insurance once I get my license and she's too stingy to do that...

You're 16 right Set...?
Get a part time job then...? OR you can have her pay for your insurance until you do get a part time job because being able to drive to your job makes it easier for you to actually HAVE one.
You can use that as bait. >w>;;
And yes before I lived with my dad and step mother I had NO desire to drive whatsoever! And after I saw how annoying and controlling she was it drove me nuts so I was determined to learn to drive. xD;;;
I didn't get my license until I was about 20 though. Mainly because after I graduated from high school my sister came in to swoop me out of that place and go live with her. It's a really long story... And uh eventually I got my license driving my sister's Avalanch, which is a BIG freaking car. XD And then after I turned I drove out of state to Minnesota. And there you have it a shorter version. XD;;;

xD well, I have no desire to learn in my mom's van....the sliding door doesn't work, the driver's door doesn't work, there's a chip out of the windshield, the paint is more pealed than not, it's big and clunky and also as old as I am....Which, actually, is only fifteen...>w>;
Also, I have a part time job...but the hours are random, only when there's something for me to do, so that's not that often, only about six hours every few weeks.... crying But I'm trying! lolz

Well I actually started learning how to drive with my dad when I still lived with him. I just didn't actually get my license until I lived with my sister and she basically made me get my license as well. xD;;;
Anyway, I learned in his car which at one point started having major problems which was the turn off as we were exiting the free way and all other kinds of horror stories. xD;;;;;;;;; He wanted to give me his old Infinity though and I declined it like hard core. xD;;; It wasn't a very good car. He eventually sold it and then my step mother had to get a new car since he sold that one and started driving his Rodeo again. xD;
And yeah... SO! Where is this part time job of yours..? owo; I didn't even know you had one.

Bah, my mom is stingy...she makes my sister PAY to drive it places, even though it lets her stay at home instead of playing taxi...>w>;
My part time job is at the local play/music theater place, I work as a back stage hand, setting up before and working with the lights (well, working with the lights once I've been showed how....^w^;; ), and as you can imagine, I only have work when there's a show that I need to work for, or they need me to lay down the marley/dance floor rubber thing...
But it's a fun job, and I get into the shows free most of the time, so that's a plus! I got to see a few band tributes, and some really cool theater groups that are really famous came through, and I enjoyed watching those, even if the set was super complicated and a pain in the @$^ to set up....
