Where ever I wander, where ever I roam,
There's only one place I'll ever call 'home'

The Magic Swordman Master Lord, Roy

"Wha...?"

And before Roy could do anything, he saw her face coming closer. He made an attempt to stick his tongue out to stop the kiss (he was joking when he said that!), but he was too late. Their lips met, and they had a kiss. And when she finally pulled away, she had her jacket off. He looked away, blushing deeply and attempted to avoid another nosebleed, but Mel pulled him up with her. And...they were going to the bed.

No. Not the bed. Anything but the bed. He did not trust that piece of furniture. It looked way too ominous, almost as if it were hiding some deep dark secret from them that was just behind the drapes. If this was in any other building besides the tower, then maybe...MAYBE...the bed could be trusted. But definitely not this bed. Not any bed in this place.

Roy wretched his hand away from Mel and took a few steps away.

"This isn't like you...did fear already consume your heart so that you'll cast away your morals? What happened to that fierce dragon I respected? I refuse to believe we're going to die here. And because of that, I'm not going to sleep with you. You can try to seduce me all you want, but I'm not getting in that bed." he said firmly.

He then had to turn around and wipe his nose again after another nosebleed.

Yes, he did look.

And the floor caved in between where they were standing. Roy would go stumbling back; luckily he'd already been moving, or he would have fallen through. Melethia fell back onto the bed, tangling in the curtains as she did so, pulling them down and revealing what had been on the bed; a corpse of something not human, covered in black fur, and when it sat up its decaying claws glistened in the torchlight.

Through the door rushed the rot and decay that had been outside, sweeping through the room and covering it in a matter of seconds as if it had been invited inside. The liquid seeping from the walls drained through the hole in the floor with a faintly sinister hissing sound; steam rose from the pit in the floor, an odd greenish tint. The pictures on the wall warped and changed, their subjects reaching out as if to drag those in the room into the painting. And all three of the room's doors shuddered simultaneously, as if something had begun to bang that wanted in. NOW.

And Melethia's scream was all Roy heard, as through the front of the draped pierced a wicked blade, of some sort; blood began to stain the white satin almost immediately. The blade withdrew, and the creature stood, revealing that the 'blade' was actually the jagged bone jutting from its arm. It grinned at Roy, maggots crawling in its smile. "You'll get what you deserve, boy," it rasped, voice echoing strangely inside the closed space. And then it jumped at him, arm upraised to strike.

Roy stumbled backwards as the ground beneath him gave way and crumbled. He watched as Melethia tumbled into the bed, pulling the curtains away to expose something that made his heart stop for a moment.

He had totally called it. He knew there was a reason not to go to the bed, and there it was. Something was already on it...a corpse of something (he couldn't tell what the hell it was from this distance, but it had black fur). The thing sat up, its decaying claws gleaming in the torchlight.

Roy heard the door give way and he quickly spun around, slamming his blade into the ground as he pulled his cape in front of him and both the weapon. The cape could be damaged, even destroyed. He just couldn't be swept into the hole. He was hit with an intense force of the liquid (he had no idea what the hell it was, better to hope it wasn't something that would really hurt), then slacked a little when the substance had passed and was drained away by the hole. He stood up slowly, realizing that his body felt extremely heavy. What the hell was that? And...holy crap it was still on him. Sticky stuff. Goo maybe, he wasn't sure.

He pulled the blade out of the floor and looked over at Mel, hearing her scream. He turned to see that she had been impaled by the creature, her blood staining the drapes. He cried out in surprise, then tried to avenge her.

But his feet were stuck. The goo had done a good job causing him to stick to the ground. He couldn't move.

He heard the creature's voice and looked up in horror at the beast as it lunged at him. He made an attempt to swing his sword to stop the attack, at least hurt the beast a little, something that made it seem like he put up a fight. But his arms felt heavy. They couldn't move very easily.

So this was fear.

Bumpbumpbumpbumpbumpbump

So this was indeed a nightmare turned reality.

BUMPBUMPBUMPBUMPBUMPBUMPBUMPBUMPBUMP

So this was what people felt when death was near.

And the beast pierced Roy's chest with the sharpened bone, stabbing through his body to exit the other side. The creature appeared a little surprised; it had likely been expecting Roy to move out of the way. A moment later, the bone came back out, allowing the blood to flow freely, and the beast simply toppled back into the abyss; its job was done. The sounds settled, as did the movement, and the room was nearly normal again. Was it really that simple?

And the life blood drained from them, both now wounded badly, and strength faltering. From the curtain emerged the weak form of Melethia, who crawled across the floor until she reached the pit. Then her hand stretched out, trying to reach Roy one last time. And he would reach out, trying to reach for her. But it was too far... the tips of their fingertips wouldn't even touch before their arms went limp, hanging over the edge of the pit as their lives slipped away.

The first floor that the three women would enter was at the top of the stairs, in the main hall. The room was simple; it seemed to be storage of old things, pieces of furniture and books and the like. Nothing really seemed out of the ordinary here, and more than likely they could continue on through without any problems. It was a bit odd, really. The others would have it so hard, and these three could waltz through without a care in the world.

Amelia was still moving fast as she finished mounting the stairs, but as she burst into the main hall with her spear drawn and found an empty room, littered here and there with broken furniture, her adrenaline deflated. There were no people in the room beyond herself, Isadora, and Melethia. Tura wasn't in here. "Then where is he...?" Amelia murmured. She held onto her spear as she moved down the hall, taking in the room. Even with the schizophrenic design pattern (if it was even real design and not just throwing things in random places)... it wasn't very creepy.

Was this the same tower?

"L-Lady Isadora... Mom...?" Amelia tried hesitantly. The woman was her guardian, and right now the knowledge of her presence was more comforting than anything else could be (beyond, perhaps, Rhys being there as well). "Are... you all right?"

Melethia, (now did you really think that was the REAL Melethia with Roy? If you did think that shame on you.) was at the first floor. She had a bad feeling about things. She looked around the area with caution.

"Something is got to be up with the room." She said, "This can't just be it. I may be paranoid right now but there might be a trap in this room." She then took a step forward. Nothing. She took a few more steps in. Still nothing. She took 3 more steps and then stopped. A chill went up her spine.

"Something bad has happened to someone...and I think it's Spitfire...s**t!" She yelled in her mind.

Even without her horse, the paladin was quite fast to get where she had to go. Isadore sprinted up the stairs, jumping over four or five flights of stair steps.

She followed after Amelia into the main hall, along with Melethia. Isadora held her spear and shield, readied herself for an attack. There was no enemy in the room. Just an ordinary room with furniture as if this was used as a storage. The paladin lowered her spear, but she didn't let her guard down.

Isadora then walked carefully into the room. While she scanned the area looking for any sudden traps or something unusual, she listened carefully too for any sign of odd noise. So far, nothing seemed unusual. The same went for the sound except the tapping of their feet. Was this room clear of traps? Or did Tura have something stored for them?

Suddenly, Isadora jumped. It took the paladin a moment to realize that it was Amelia addressing her. Never would she thought she would be called mom... Well, despite the inside joke the guild members had called her as the "guild mother." However, the title was not a joke. Isadora noticed Amelia was uncomfortable with the situation. She needed to comfort her.

With Renault hiding in this place and Rhys was somewhere else, Isadora knew that as her guardian it was her job to help the General.

"Yes, I'm okay." Isadora replied. She looked around the area again. So far, nothing unusual happened. "However, Melethia is right. We must be on our guard and be careful. We don't know if Tura set any traps for us or not."

She then looked at Amelia. There were concern in her eyes. Isadora was still worried of what Tura had in stored for the women, especially the part of Renault. "Amelia, if we ever ran into Renault.... We have to be extremely careful. We can't tell for sure if this is one of Tura's tricks or not. So please... Don't let your emotions get the best of you. I don't want your judgment be clouded by your emotions, even if we see Renault."

Isadora moved forward. She held her shield up and her spear readied in her arm. She had to be careful. She, Amelia, and Melethia needed to be careful. There was no telling what would happen... And yet, why did she felt that this was Darkness Pursues all over again?

Amelia nodded silently to Isadora, then turned her attention back to the hallway. She didn't speak, not even as Isadora mentioned her father. At the suggestion of not letting her emotions get the best of her, her back went a little rigid.

"I'll be fine," Amelia mumbled, though her voice was strained. "I'll be fine. I'm better trained than that." She continued to walk, but her grip had tightened imperceptibly on the shaft of her lance. She saw now not the furniture, but Tura's face, laughing at them, taunting, I've killed so many and you never stopped me... not once...~

Amelia shook off the thought. No. Isadora was right. Focus. Amelia walked in silence. Her grip never loosened on her spear.

"Come on Tura!" She yelled. "Come on out!" She looked around waiting for him to appear. Though she was very sure he wouldn't show himself. She growled and walked more through the room with caution. If there were any traps in the room, Melethia wanted to set them off herself. She wanted to make sure Amelia and Isadora were going to be ok. Even if she wasn't going to be ok.

Isadora proceeded with caution along with Amelia and Melethia. They continued walked carefully, watching every inch for any signs of traps or something unusual. So far, nothing had happened. This made the paladin curious.

Few days ago, Tura informed her that they were the honored guests. He also informed her that he was not allowed to harm them due to the wishes of Father Renault...

If Tura said was true few days ago, then what was that act previously ago? He accused them and the Watch of letting the innocents suffered. He also informed them that their trails will be less punishable than the Watch. So which one was accurate? Them being the honored guests or taking the punishment?

The paladin continued walking until she and the others were halfway down the hall. So far, nothing had happened.... She thought. Isadora lowered her spear a little, but kept her guard up.

"Do you think we should continue going to another room? It seems that Tura won't make his appearance here..."

Where could he be? Isadora thought. Surely Tura didn't escape from them. They got him inside. And there was no way, he could have gotten out the back door, if there was a back door. She knew that the crazed man would want to see them suffer than escaping without knowing what happened to them. And just like Tura, they couldn't go back. Only forward that they had to continue.

The library was really completely empty. Nothing was happening there at all; it seemed Tura was keeping his word not to do anything to them. They simply had to round the corner, and there would be a door, unlocked already, with a stand with a piece of paper sitting upon it. Really, that was the only point of this room.

Never will I be welcomed
Amongst the heartless monsters you surround yourself with
Feeding off the pain and misfortune of others
A maniacal unit of sub-human parasites
Warped into a feeding frenzy with the smell of fresh blood
Open your eyes and see the creatures for what they are
A swirling mess of hatred and envy
Don't be naive enough to think you're unaffected
The conversion has already begun...

And that was all. The stairs awaited them to continue their climb.

Leon, upon opening the door, would see a hallway leading sideways, away from him. But when he stepped in, it would be into the hustle and bustle of a busy place, people in white robes walking back and forth down the corridor, talking to each other, comparing notes and such. It looked rather like a medical ward, didn't it? How strange. There was light, a clear, harsh light, though the source wasn't apparent. And, if Leon looked back, the door behind him would have become a part of the wall, covered with a poster. This poster read "Don't be gay, get immunized today!" And the poster showed an image of two men kissing, with body parts and such rotting off. A rather offensive poster, really. Not one that seemed suited for such a place as this.

"Sir! Sir!" A young woman dashed up to Leon, panting. "E-excuse me, sir! You're late for your appointment! The doctor is waiting for you, please come with me!" Without waiting for an answer, she grabbed his arm, pulling him along with her down the hall. Nobody seemed to notice that he was armored and carrying a weapon.

Leon was being dragged by the healers. Sure, it was fine when he was injured, and unable to protest, but he was NOT injured. Nor did he need the 'vaccine' of that poster... ugh. It also bugged him that they saw him in his armor and weren't able to tell he was on duty! Armored meant a Watchman was on a mission. If they had the armor on and the insignia present, they were to be left alone unless they were dead or dying.

Otherwise, the ones holding them up could be charged.

"Ya must be mistakn', y'see, m' name's common! Now, lemme outta 'ere, I'm on duty!" He said, a hint of panic flavoring the knight's voice. He wasn't fearing the injection, not that he ever needed it...

But he was fearing the consequences should he fail. Tura couldn't run loose, he couldn't let him. This was a distraction. And yet... why was there a clinic here in the first place? Something wasn't right at all.

Amelia read the note in silence. Isadora and Melethia were incredibly sure in their purpose here, here in this manor--they were here to stop Tura, to kill him and end the source of the current crimes. He claimed he was enacting his own brand of justice, wasn't he? Amelia thought. And yet he kills people... even if they apparently deserved it... he has no place to do this... to tell us we're the wrong-doers... to put the blame on us...

It's... not my fault they're dead... is it?

Amelia looked up to Isadora and Melethia in silence after she finished reading the note. "We... should continue on," she murmured. Amelia looked at the note for a few seconds, then pressed her hand to it as she swung the door open. The staircase was darkened, but Amelia took in a small breath and steeled herself before setting up at a sprint, hands still clasping onto her Spear.

After carefully walking from the main hall, they entered the library. So far, there were no traps from the room they had left. It seemed that Tura was keeping his words about not harming them. But for how long would that promise be kept before it broke.

Isadora and the girls walked cautiously into the library. So far, everything looked normal and nothing unusual. However, the paladin kept her guard up just in case there was a trap. There were many books among the selves. Isadora wondered if there was a powerful Tome among those books. Maybe it would come in handle for Melethia in case they were forced to fight a powerful enemy. However, Tura looked more like an ordinary man…. An man with a twisted mind, that was.

As they went around the corner, they noticed an unlocked door. Did Tura enter through that door? The paladin knew that Tura ran ahead of them, but she didn’t expect him to leave the door unlocked. Did he left in a hurry?… Or did he set a trap for them?

Next to the door was a stand. On top of it was a piece of paper. The paladin moved forward with the girls to read it. Isadora frowned. She didn’t like what Tura had wrote about Roy and the Watch. They weren’t as heartless or as cruel like Tura was. If someone was to be called a monster, it would be himself. He was the one who had the corrupted mind; not them. And he asked them to open their eyes and see the truth? As much as Isadora was disgusted by what Tura had shown them, she couldn’t let him get the best of her again. Twice he had barely done and twice she had nearly succumbed to his twisted game.

Not this time. This time, the paladin was ready for whatever the crazed assassin had and she would not let him get the best of her again. It was her duty as the knight to stop him and to protect those who were in need of her aid.

Isadora peeked through the door. Through the door was a staircase. Where would that staircase lead to? Would it lead to Tura or another trap?

She then heard Amelia spoke. The paladin gave a nod. There was no other way except through the door. But did Tura have a trap for them upstairs. Before Isadora could suggest a strategy, she saw Amelia sprinted up the stair.

“Amelia!” Isadora shouted as she chased after her. She knew that they were to stop Tura. However, there was no telling what Tura had in store for them. The paladin gripped her spear and she followed the General up the stair. Never would she thought that Amelia was fast for her class.

Melethia saw Amelia and Isadora leave. She said nothing as she followed them. She was just wanted to get some answers out of Tura. Something just didn't add up in Melethia's mind. She almost wanted to shove Amelia out of the way to get ahead of her because it was her problem more than the other two's. She knew of this plan, but some of it, just didn't add up.
